can't answer the first question that I don't ever use websphere - if you want to use it, you will find a way, if not I suggest you switch to eclipse.

Yes, you must generate the Cod. It cannot be run without generating the binary file.

FYI: we use eclipse as editor-in-Chief and the jde as a tool to build test /.

  • How to install the 9000 Simulator in JDE for Eclipse?

The JDE for Eclipse 1.1 (gold) is not delivered with the 9000 Simulator.

A reported problem display on a 9000 device so I would like to test the application in this Simulator specific.

If I use the eclipse Update site and choose a pack of different components (e.g. 4.7.0) and select next, I get an error:

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.

    Software being installed:

He wants than the JDE for Eclipse version.  Do I have to maintain a separate installation (and therefore separate the project) to 4.7.0 component pack support?

I found BlackBerry_Simulators_5.0.0.411_9000.exe available for download, but how do I install it is usable in eclipse?  Can I just install it in the right folder, and that everything will work magically? (after working on what the right folder is ofc).

Or is it simply not possible and I should just run the simulator of 9000 outside any debugger?

I have not tried. But if you run the Simulator with your application and you have open Eclipse. Trying to debug on this race sumulator: click on the drop down menu on the little green play button and choose "run as" and choose the Simulator running.

  • Help w / BB SDK installed plug-in for Eclipse

Forgive me if I am problem with everything I post here, I'm as inexperienced and little educated with Java and everything associated with it, hell, programming in general.  My knowledge begins and ends with the basic html coding.  But, I have a great idea (I think) for an application and do my best to learn Java on my own.  What I'm having a problem with is just install the Blackberry SDK and others for Eclipse.  Shortly after the installation starts, and it always gets stuck on the extraction of net.rim.ejde.componentpack5.0(substitute through different versions of OS here, 4.5, 5.0, 7.0) status text continues with ...nloads.blackberry.com/upr/developers/Win/

Now, I don't know if it of related or not, but when I did the initial download of Java (jdk1.7.0_06), a window pops up warning me that some banks were too long or something like that (even once, forgive me ~ _ ~).  I tried to put everything I downloaded in ProgramFiles (of course it comes to Windows I'm talking about).

Anyway, Ive tried to be helpful by giving everything I know I did, someone please help me, if I can't even the installation done, Lord help me when I'm in a coding application

Well, I am a java developer, but java BB is not the path to the future, as the new OS (BB10) will support is no longer, so the question is if you really want to go this way.

as a start page, I suggest using
    https://developer.BlackBerry.com/
you get a good overview here.

about html5, there are many different points of view, and some say it's not feeling not native (sensitive) enough, while others think it is the best thing ever.
side pro, you can use html5 on Playbook and BB10 (as well as other platforms non - BB).

If you don't know not java the platform BB is bit harsh as a learning ground, and most of the tutorials assume a basic knowledge of java.

I suggest trying html5, you should find most of the things on the site link above, otherwise, there is also a forum where, someone more familiar with it can help you.

  • Java plug-in for Eclipse or BB JDE BB

    Hello developers BB!

I am really new to the BlackBerry development world as you will see.

I started to read some of the tutorials and there is something that I'm not sure. What is the difference between BlackBerry Java plug-in for Eclipse and the BlackBerry JDE? Which one should I use to develop my applications?

I'll take this opportunity to ask, is there a graphical development environment to develop applications? or do I have this code? I ask this question to the General knowledge.

Thanks in advance for your time and help.

    Best regards.

You should encode everything, there is no GUI Builder. Eclipse is the way to go, JDE is removed out sooner than later.

    [Download size: 472,909 MB]
    [Date of publication: 18/10/2011]
but I have some problems with it.
Where can I download Java (JRE) version 6.0 for Eclipse SDK to develop for BlackBerry OS 6?

You can install the other BlackBerry Java SDK using our BlackBerry Eclipse Update site.  You can find instructions on this here: http://us.blackberry.com/developers/javaappdev/javaupdate.jsp

  • Getting BB JDE Plugin for Eclipse work?

    Hello

I was now almost two days on this and am nowhere near where I need to be - more no matter I can't do the BB JDE plug-in for Eclipse work not at all.

    Steps, I tried:

    1. download the latest version of Eclipse on the Eclipse site

    2 installed Eclipse

3 downloaded the BlackBerry Java plug-in for Eclipse v1.1 (full installation program)

    4. install the plug-in

This succeeded without error reported, and no errors in the log in the root directory but when starting Eclipse eclipses, I get without the slightest trace of what either Blackberry - Blackberry no draft, no menus, no different a simple installation of Eclipse.

I repeated the above on a clean eclipse install but open Eclipse between steps 1 and 2, to see if Eclipse to initialize anything - same result, without success.

Then I saw that plugin BB Setup includes in fact a full install of eclipse, so I erased my efforts earlier and just ran the installer of plugin.  This completed without error, but once again there is no trace what whether Blackberry in the eclipse resulting only install - no Blackberry project, no menus.  Another failure.

Some recent posts offers to install the plugins and packs of component from within a clean Eclipse install via 'Help-> add new software (or equivalent depending on the version of Eclipse used)', but the often detached url of http://na.blackberry.com/eng/developers/javaappdev/javaeclipseplug.jsp just gives me a 404 error, as does a second suggested link on http://www.blackberry.com/go/eclipseUpdate

Others recommend downloading archives separately, once again on the javaeclipseplug.jsp page, once again it is an option that is not available.

I don't have a weird Setup or interesting, just Windows 7 32 bit with 4 GB of ram - I can't understand what he could possible be wrong!  Everything I tried, each path suggested at the forum and blog messages either do not work or use the old pages which I can't find the equivalent on the Blackberry site today.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!  It's incredibly frustrating.

Very strange.  What folder you installed Eclipse in?  I've seen problems if you install in a folder with spaces (e.g. "Program Files")

Also, what JDK do you have.  You need JDK 6u10 minimum, but there are problems with the u21 and Eclipse so if you have a u21 he may not work.

Each application needs to at least 1 entry point.  You might have the auto application run at startup and does not display an icon.

Or you can have both with the help of another point of entry.  Could be invoked from an icon, and the other could auto start.

  • Bad bug in the plugin for Eclipse 1.1 Java beta!

Suddenly, it closes without saving! I recommend that you never click on help-> Check for Updates.

I'm not sure why you should "never, click Help-> Check for Updates", but the issue of the eclipse suddenly closing has been discussed several times in this forum. A thread that includes the official entrance of RIM is:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Java-development/Eclipse-crash/m-p/473333

It is also discussed in the Eclipse Bugzilla system, where, as Simon mentioned, it is usually considered to be an Eclipse problem. (See, for example, Eclipse bug #297279).

  • Is a component Pack for versions prior to version 4.3 available for Eclipse?

In the related web page in the site of Blackberry of Eclipse, the oldest component pack is 4.3. Is there a way I can run a simulator device with version 4.1 software? I guess that this would require a component for eclipse pack which is for 4.1. If this is the case, is there such a version?

    Help, please.

    I found the answer.

Eclipse plugin does not support the versions prior to version 4.3.
