BlackBerry Q10 will be Q10/Z10 working on a legacy package of BIS?

I'm one of the few people who use Blackberry because it provides BIS.  Living in the United Kingdom, run a business and who travel abroad, as I do, I have come to depend on from low roaming charges because of the excellent BIS data compression.  While my 9900 is very well I see that Amazon in the United Kingdom now offers a bargain at the price of sim free BB10 combined and think to put a.  The main thing that determines if I stick with Blackberry is to know if a new device will work on a package of BIS and make use of BIS data compression?  Any ideas?

Hello

The short answer... No. BB10 don't use BIS. There are many valid arguments in support of your situation, but also the valid arguments against having BIS. BB had to make a choice, and that's what it is. As far as anyone can tell, BBs legacy will continue to use BIS (they need since, for example, they don't have a complete email client on the device).

Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones will be BB Messenger works in WiFi?

I am interested in buying the new blackberry "BOLD", but needed to know something before doing so.

The BB Messenger won't work on a WiFi connection?

I have no insurance mobile home and wanted to know if the BB Messenger would continue to operate on my wireless network. I know that you need a data plan active on the line that I have; I want to just make sure I'll still be able to send and receive messages of pine on WiFi, when I have no cell phone coverage or if it must pass through the connection EDGE / 3 G.

Thanks, and sorry if it has been reported previously, tried searching and couldn't find an answer.

I understand from reading other messages, it will work as long as you have a data (of course) BB plan.

  • BlackBerry Q10 can make a unlocked Blackberry works with Verizon?

I have a Q10, and I'm at the end of my contract. Verizon does not have a model I want. Also, they do not support the phone at the local level, but I have to stay with Verizon for the reception where I operate. I can slip my Sim Card into something like a passport and use it on Verizon?

Hello and welcome to the community!

You should consider the different models and submodels (for example, there are 4 variations of the Z10) to determine the characteristics of radio frequency technology / device. Then you must watch the carrier you want to operate on and determine if your specific device is compatible with their network or not. For example, if you choose a device variant which is not a CDMA radio inside, then it is impossible to use it on a CDMA support. Similarly the LTE and the support of the frequency bands. Your device must be compatible with your operator, otherwise the function is impossible.

Here is a sample of some resources that may be useful for you:

I am sure that, with a little digging, you will find resources that suit your specific needs.

In addition, often with CDMA carriers that go beyond simply to accept the SIM card inside a compatible device. Often, the CDMA carriers insist on a deeper inscription to their network, they do. And so, if they say 'no' to the device that you want to use (even if it is compatible), then there is no way to get around that. Some carriers do not allow the BYOD (bring your own device).

Basically, if I were you I talk to my carrier and see what they allow.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Z10 searching through SMS on BlackBerry Q10

Research in text Messages on BlackBerry
Search criteria on Blackberry (curve, tourch and "BOLD"):
I can search by several criteria, such as:
Name: specify one or more contacts.
Message: type the text that the search should find in the body of messages.
for example: If SMS such as:
    Contact: John
Message: "sorry, I will be absent today.
I can look for to find out how many times absent John using this criteria "absent john" (John) contact and (absent) is the text in the body of the message.
    Search on Blackberry Z10 criteria:
I can use only one criterion (John) to retrieve all SMS john or (absent) to retrieve all SMS include (absent), if I use 2 criteria of the search will not retrieve any result.
What Blackberry Q10 research criteria? :
    Help, please.

Fine, but for me and my company, we can use the BlackBerry (10) without a full search of SMS.

  • BlackBerry Blackberry Q10 Assistant on automatically - keyboard does not work

    Hello

I have my phone Blackberry Q10 now for 1 month, and since a few days the problem has turned up, randomly Blackberry companion light automatically. Sometimes visible through the open window, App - but sometimes also without this, but you recognize because the keyboard no longer works. This can happen when you type a message.

The wizard then opens whenever I press the power button to lock the display so that the screen doesn't lock.

In all this is very annoying and makes the phone in time allmost impossible to use.

The solution only little time that I found is to close the wizard via the app Manager, but then it starts itself after maximum 1 h and the problem continues. I tried to disable all the functions of the wizard, but it does not help.

I would be very happy for any help with this problem. For example, is it possible to delete/disable the wizard?

    Best regards

  • BlackBerry Q10 Whatsapp fail during initialization on OS.10.3.3.746

    Hi all

    Just a question...

My BB Q10 was 10.3.3 update dev then error install whatsapp, can any one help?

    Thank you so much

10.3.3 is NOT for regular use. It is not exhaustive and is intended only for developers to test their applications as well as their applications can be updated to run smoothly. Since Whatsapp won't support BlackBerry it will not be an update for whatsapp work on 10.3.3.

In addition, is not reversible to 10.3.2 10.3.3 so you're stuck with 10.3.3 until a newer version of 10.3.3 comes out. You really should not have installed 10.3.3 yet.

  • BBM blackBerry Q10 pine got changed

    Hello, everyone!

My problem with the BBM Pin code is as follows - a few years ago I had the BlackBerry 9900, and I got a pine BBM assigned to this device. Later, this device was physically destroyed and I started to use BBM on Samsung Galaxy (the same PIN BBM).

Recently, I purchased BlackBerry Q10 and started using BBM with the same PIN (from BlackBerry 9900). It wasn't a problem, until that I've updated BBM a few days ago and then I noticed that my BBM pin has changed.

Does anyone know why it happened and what to do with this issue? I mean, finally, I will create a list of contacts with my new BBM PIN code, but there is no guarantee that this change suddenly won't happen again.

Thank you very much for your advice.

    Dmitri

    Hi Dimitri

Good question, but so many numbers makes me headache lol just kidding. Unfortunately, this is not how it works. Different way with numbers of mail or telephone in our map. Blackberry PIN is connected with a single device and cannot be moved to another device. Your previous BBM with 123456 contacts are safe and always with you in your new PIN BBM 654321. To your new customers/friends you must inform your PIN or invite them.

Technology can create something new. You can always tell them your new pin code otherwise you must continue to use your old device.

    Kind regards.

  • BlackBerry Q10 linking Q10 to Microsoft Outlook Web Access Exchange

    Guy,

Can someone help, it's driving crazy me.

I can't tie up my email on my phone, something which is a walk in the park with the previous BB and other smartphones.

I work for Tesco therefore assumes that the server is pretty good, but the SOFTWARE support leaves a bit to be disred.

Anyone know a walk through as there is no service to the account active sync continues to tell me

You should be able to implement the Q10 with the same parameters as those used on the iPhone or any other mobile device.

Former BB (OS7.1 and earlier) does not use Active Sync but do peripheral BB10. There is not much here, we can do if your IT Department is incompetent, or at the very least, ignorant of new devices.

When you add the account, do not forget and use the "Advanced" button at the bottom of the add account screen and choose "Exchange Active Sync." Then enter the same parameters as any other mobile device. You will need the address of the server and your account credentials. If you can get the iPhone configuration information, it should work on the Q10 & Z10.

  • BlackBerry Q10 ActiveSync does not synchronize my Contacts after changing to another Exchange Server

I changed to another supplier of services of Exchange and now the problems with my Contacts on the Blackberry Q10. After the configuration of the new Exchange ActiveSync account, I observe the folliwng:

    1. New contacts created in Outlook / Exchange Server will not synchronize to the Q10.
    2. New contacts created on the Blackberry are synchronized backed the Exchange Server / Outlook Client.
    3. BlackBerry-Contacts are visible, but won't open (like "zombies").
    4. BlackBerry Contacts from other sources (Facebook, WhatsApp) are no longer bound together, in other words, it seems that the person has multiple contacts entries.
    5. Sending / receiving mails and work on the Blackberry calendar entries.

I fixed it myself. Now, the Contacts are all back in, deduplicated and healthy. That's what I did, step by step, in settings > accounts:
1 turn off Sync contact on the Exchange ActiveSync account
    2 delete the Facebook account
3 remove account Skype and gmail
    4. run "Delete local Contacts"
    5. in Contacts, check the number of Contacts: contact no.
    Then in settings > accounts:
    6. turn on synchronization of Contact for an Exchange account
    7. This brought all Exchange contacts
    8. Add Facebook, Skype and a gmail accounts.

    END

I found this site very useful understand the technical differences between the models:

Of course, you will need to supplement that with an understanding of the technical nature of the carrier network on which you want to operate the unit... but it's a discussion, you'd be better off to have with carriers, since it is their networks.

    himeshshah wrote:

    Why?

Hmmm... I'm not quite sure how to answer this question. There are several models simply because there is too much radio frequency technologies in the world to allow the manufacture of a device that can really work on all networks in the world... should be physically so large, that nobody would buy it. Instead, all mobile manufacturers must make several models, each with a subset of support/radio frequency technology. It's just the nature of our world of various technologies.

    Good luck!
