BlackBerry smartphones a few basic questions

Some very basic q, I fear, about setting up email accounts.1.  I have not used my storm for 9 months and cannot remember the password to configure email accounts. I used the "forgot password" option and it says the password has been sent to my device, but I can't find it anywhere.  2. the last time that I used the camera, I received emails directly from my Yahoo account, but now, nothing is visible. Help!

You always have the data Plan associated with your account BlackBerry? You must.

And your password that you sent normally comes to the device via a PIN message.

On your device, check the Options > Advanced > Service books. Do you think your email account as an entry listed as [CIMIME]?

If all else fails, call your operator and your Plan of BIS data and readded to your account deleted.

  • BlackBerry smartphones a few questions... Sorry so many questions...

Hello. I just got my BB a week ago so I have a few questions. I've traveled the previous pages to see if my questions were already asked, but I didn't see it (at least not with the first 6 pages) so sorry if this is a repeat.

    1. If you add a song to your BlackBerry, as in iTunes list, can you use that as a ringtone too? Or not because he was transferred in a song and not a ringtone by itself?

    2. is there a way to watch videos online? From YouTube or other sites that require Flash?

    3. I currently have my left convenience as the phone lock, requiring a password to unlock it (not just the #* or whatever the generic unlock code). However, my phone is locked automatically after 1 hour (it's long, I could put it). Is there a way to disable the fact it locks automatically after 1 hour, but still have the password how to unlock my phone?

    4. is there a way to disable the key tones when dialing a number? Even when I'm on silent or vibrate, whenever I have to dial a number, the numbers still make noise.

    5. If you accidentally delete a text, is it possible to get it back? My old phone had the ability to browse the deleted texts.

I think that's it... Thanks so much in advance!

Hi and welcome to the forums,

lets take one at a time:

    (1) you can use a song as a ringtone, go to music media, select the key to success menu song and choose set as ringtone.

The song will not play like a ringtome just 4or 5 seconds of it.

    2) there are 3rd party apps that will allow you to which SOME videos, it depends on the format. I need to find the

an I know, just do not remember the name right now

    (3) it is not an option to disable the timeout of security if you are using the password, type of sense if you think about it. I got mine because I'm on and outside it frequently the value for an hour. But I always manually lock it when I leave.

    (4) No, the keytones stay on, even in vibrate mode.

    (5) I have to watch this

So I owe you a link and a response to 5.

Please let me know if others answer your questions, and I will return with more information.

    Thank you

I receive a Blackberry Curve 8300 for work using the Alltel network. I still use a BB, but I have to learn pretty quickly if I can help around our offices.

    I have a few questions

    1. each BB has wifi capabilities? Specifically the 8300? Specify this BlackBerry.com or alltel.com.

    2. can I change the layout of the buttons? I'd rather have all the buttons on the bottom of the screen instead of the side.

    3. it comes preloaded with a sort of mobile office applications? Outlook, word, etc. Or does with a BlackBerry version?

    4. What is the best app to sync with my PC to day/change settings/programs?

  • BlackBerry smartphones a few questions on the Torch 9800

a friend recently gave me her old flame and I wiped it created a new BBID and deleted reinstalled BBM and it still does not work, I don't have a data plan but bbm should work on my home network. Another thing when adding an email, how do you find the "password for activation" this is my email password... any help would be appreciated

    Hi James Gover.

I was a fanatic user of Torch 9800, 9810 (very similar), so I hope to be useful.

    • to open your mailbox, of course you need his password. Otherwise, someone could connect to it, which would be absurd.
    • If I were you, I wouldn't delete BBM: it's an integrated application. But normally, it is possible to re - download from BB world. I understand that you have done this. I tried to configure BBM with a friend who was a BB user, but we have no success. I admit that it is a relatively complicated application.

    -Solutions:

    1. First, do a format of all the data on the BlackBerry. Before that, make sure that you have made a backup; You can do this with BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac or Windows 7.1, which you can find on the BB site (Software section of the home screen). So yes, format. In: Options/Security/safety cleaning (if I translate well to the french).
    2. Ask your provider or operator. In my case, I had a basic membership for this BlackBerry and an additional option (and even today still with a better subscription) "Option BlackBerry" for anything over the phone and SMS, so exactly BlackBerry Messenger and e-mail, at a cost of CHF 10. -

After having done these two things, I think you'll be ready!

  • BlackBerry smartphones a few questions

First of all, I must say that I'm still not 100% familiar with Blackberrys and it's the first time I bought a.

My first question is, how do I change the time my program can operate? Now, it goes only from 9-5 or something like that.

On my so-called "desktop" on my blackberry there are six requests, you can run quickly. With me, the first two are both my e-mail account. How can I take one of these two and replace with for example my SMS?

On my email and SMS tab my emails sent and received time and come from SMS in the same folder. How can I change this so that I don't see my received SMS and emails?

And finally, what is the best way to change my ringtone? Just download a song and transfer it through the media?

I check the FAQ but found no answers. Someone who could help me >

from the homescreen of the 6 icons, click the menu button and you'll get all fo your icons, if you move all the icons you want to be the first 6 on the screen, those become your 6 icons on the home screen, to move, to highlight the icon, click on the menu, choose move and move it with your trackpad, click trackpad in this position.

On my email and SMS tab my emails sent and received time and come from SMS in the same folder. How can I change this so that I don't see my received SMS and emails? Open the icon, click the menu and options, go to General settings, HIDE the SENT MESSAGES to YES, also if you want to change your e-mail and sms in 2 different boxes, in this same screen SMA AND EMAIL BOXES to SEPARATE messages

And finally, what is the best way to change my ringtone? Just download a song and transfer it through the media?

ringtones are usually the clips of songs, put the clips in the folder ringtones on your card (if you have a) then use profiles - advanced to assign a certain article

  • Smartphones BlackBerry Premium multimedia headset - basic Question

I just bought the wired premium multimedia headset because I wanted good sound quality, and this set now is price. There is nothing in the instructions that I received which indicates what headphones is left and which is right! One side has a red ring on the cord near the earpiece, and the other side has the microphone on this subject. But no R L or any idea that I could find. If this is posted here or in the knowledge base, or the documentation, I try to find it, but wasn't able to do it, thanks.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Dtek50 auto rotation question

    Hello community,

my old Dtek50 of a month, sometimes stops auto rotation toggle turn same auto is on. I checked the settings-accessibility - auto rotation... is on. Device settings-display-when is turned isn't properly adjusted on do rotate the contents of the screen. I did the test of the sensor with the expert virtual Blackberry and the sensor works very well. I tried with a game using the sensor and everything is ok. A simple reboot solves always... but it's a bit boring.

Last week, it happened twice. I noticed this problem after update from September.

Anyway, today I did a factory reset... I'll monitor the device without having to install the apps I use generally.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Auto rotation problem solved! As I said in my previous posts my sensor has worked well (and so I have is maybe a software problem, kernel?).. .so I tried a few apps from the game store: the only one who's really works: "auto rotation to lie down". For those who are facing the problem just install the app and give the requested permissions. Works like charm! Glad for not having sent the smartphone for repair!

  • BlackBerry smartphones a few suggestions for future releases blackberry OS

    Hello

I hope that it reaches the right developers. I just had some suggestions for the future blackberry phone software (OS).

It should be an option to use the memory card to save data such as messages, e-mail, telephone directory, applications etc. This would prevent the messages are automatically deleted. At least the user should be warned etc. messages are deleted instead of remove them automatically!

Blackberry desktop software should also be able to back up third-party software.

There should be an option by which we can password protect applications/inbox/etc. individual according to our prefrance rather than to have just a password to lock the entire phone. In this way we can let someone use our phone, playing games, but do not have access to private data or personal information.

In the address book, we should be able to create a custome as Mobile 2, Home 3, etc. These days have several mobile phones, and it's boring store the secondary number in the pager, or other category. It is a basic solution and I am surprised blackberry doesn't have this option.

BlackBerry should also support youtube and also reording video.

Another feature that I suggest is related to the contact filter option. At present, we can select only a single filter to contact both. Now, it would be great if we have a mechanism by which we can select several filters in this way:

If I want to select all the people that are in the filter of the USA and who work for company X, I can choose the filter "and" in which the two categories are adapted (2 or more categories).

If I want to select people who are either in the United States or work for company X (I choose the filter 'or' for this).

You can have a function special directory where we choose to display only the phone numbers frequently and can put all the numbers that we use that often in a master directory. It would be convenient to so many people!

When sending SMS to multiple people, please select each individually. It would be nice if we could quickly select using checkmarks next to the person as a whole rather than separately.

We should be able to add the email as 'spam' of the handheld is.

We include a reminder of birthday for contacts, which is separate from the calendar option.

There is no weather app that comes with the blackberry! This a must and should be included.

Better and more realistic, as the navigation in the iphone. Web sites display in a way very non-eco-friendly and most of the pages are not available easily.

We should have a shortcut button to compose text messages just as we can press 'c' as quick make up for email.

These are just some thoughts I had on the way to improve the phone. Of course, applications are somewhat biased based on my needs but I really hope that some key developers fall on this post and implement these ideas in future versions of blackberry OS.

    Kind regards

    Ishan.

Good ideas. You must submit to [email protected].

  • BlackBerry smartphones a few problems I have with my Curve 9300. Hope you can help me.

    Hello world.
I decided to post it here to see if someone can help out me, I'm a blackberry curve 9300 user - O.S. 6, I had the smarthpone for awhile now, but since I had a few small details, I want to know if there is a simple solution for these things.

    1. the browser.
Since the beginning, the native browser of the phone has this problem where it starts to load a page, but in the Middle it's just stops and goes back to the home page, so that I can not load any page. Am I looking for another browser that works very well, but maybe there's something I can do to fix this since the pages youtube or othe loading only on the BB browser and like I said, it does not load the pages. This isn't promp any error message or anything like that.

    2 don't-know-what-it's-for the icon.

For a few months now, it has this icon I can't say what it's for, I have search everywhere in the application of updates, but nothing, I just decided to coexist with the icon, because it never goes away. Maybe there's something that I do this just to check the icon. Here is a screenshot of the mentioned icon.

    3. crazy pointer.

Sometimes, not always, just crazy pointer, it starts to move by itself, and when we try to write it becomes impossible, I tried to change the sensitivity of the key, but no change.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.

I think see if I can find other alternative but radical would be to reload your OS using the method here:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/device-software-for-BlackBerry/how-to-reload-your-operating-S...

But I'll see if I or someone else can find a less radical alternative first.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BBM (not a question of PEEM)

Yesterday I bought a Blackberry 3 G (9300) mobile. I have inserted my sim card from my iPhone and proceeded to add contacts, etc. I was then informed that I couldn't use the services of Blackberry without having a Blackberry bolt - on on my account. I bought this bolt on and I am still yet to be able to connect and use the services on the mobile such as Facebook or mobile web browser. My friend who is well-versed in BlackBerry told me that my phone was not downloading the service books correct to connect to these applications.

I currently use the phone with 3rd party Twitter applications (so I can connect to the internet).

My network provider is o2UK, I have a data plan and I also have a bolt blackberry we activated.

My internet settings under TCP IP are below:
    APN: payandgo.o2.co.uk
    APN username: payandgo
    APN password: password

In my view, that the question is registration of the device to obtain the correct service books.

Thanks to all those who can help you.

The bolt is active (it came as ready to use when I registered on the site Web of O2).

I have no idea what fixed my problem, but this morning the 3G logo on the top right of my phone has changed for a 3 g one (tiny g). I thought something was up, then I restarted the phone Mr. then I got a Blackberry message saying that my device was placed on the network.

I then had access to all the features of BB as FB and BBM.

Just display to help others in the future.

  • Folder/icon blackBerry Smartphones Yahoo! Mail question

When you add a Yahoo! Mail account on your BlackBerry (that is if you use Yahoo! Mail), it adds a folder in Yahoo! Mail on your BlackBerry screen (the icon is a folder with an icon of 'Y' purple & white).  I could have sworn that whenever you get new e-mail, folder would have some sort of marking icon showing that the mail was sitting inside, mine is not.  I haven't used my BlackBerry a few months that I was using my iPhone but have now retreated to the BlackBerry.  Anyway if anyone can confirm if the Yahoo! Mail folder on the screen is supposed to reflect the new messages (by image) I would appreciate it.  The only icon I've ever seen is at the top of the screen (the area where will your voicemail icon, etc.).

    Thank you.

I have a yahoo email that I rarely use so I had never even added it to my BB. But I just added so I could see what you see and possibly try to help. When I added the email I got the same icon you described. It's an envelope with the purple Y! This overlap. I myself sent a test email. The phone vibrates and I got a notification at the top of my screen that I get for all emails, but unfortunately, the icon remained unchanged which is quite annoying actually because it distinguishes only the folder that contains the new message. I'm sorry.
