  One word: HELP! This is so the case... a friend gave me a Blackberry Curve 9300 to use (cause it not to use) cause my old phone went kaput. in any case, I turned it on and I see a written screen KOODOO mobile (a telephone to the Canada company) and then immediately a screen saying "DEVICE is locked". When I choose to open it says "Enter password" and I can't get past this screen for something else. My friend doesn't remember the password. He had introduced FIDO sim card so I'm thinking that the phone is unlocked... I have a FIDO sim card also. Can someone help me understand this? What I have to go to the KOODOO store and ask them to unlock or to anyone who makes the unlocking the phones? Or can someone here help me? Thank you

  BBs are very secure - only the password created by the user can unlock the BB. There is no password 'master' or 'ignore' to do so... only the password created by the user can do.

  No not the password the maximum time will initiate a WIPE on the device, which is part of these important instructions.   Recently, I unlocked my blackberry torch 9800 and start using a Korean SIM. The name of the carrier is Olleh. As soon as the phone loaded with Korean sim card I expect a lot of problems with my phone. The black timer icon appears whenever I try to use the phone to do anything pictures/SMS/calls etc. This makes the use of any application, that really need me a lot of time, and more that the phone is slow.  It's as if the phone is blocked and it is always busy, which makes the battery last less than 2 hours. Then begins the most serious problem. Because of what I described, I run very often of the battery. When I load again the phone and turn it on, all the activity that I did the last time is deleted. This means that the history of calls, texts, contacts, memos and others disappear whenever I have run out of battery. Since I have this problem (about 2 weeks) I was not able to store contacts, record memos, set reminders etc.

  I read that there are no viruses for blackberry. I don't have many applications, so I don't think that it is a memory problem. My only guess, is that something in the configuration has changed when I unlocked the phone or put the card sim Korean. I looked in all the menus (options, configuration, etc) to see if something was wrong and that he could not solve the problem.

  Try a battery pull if you please, with the BlackBerry device powered on, remove the battery 15 seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot the device. This will clear all hide as restarting a PC. Then try again and see if the problem persists.

  On device, go to Options, device, application management is a great way to see what your applications with your use of the CPU on Smartphone. Simply drag bar greater than CPU and see what happens. Also touch the CPU menu to see other time variables. I discovered that an application has been eroding CPU cycles on my own

  [I know I am a "retarded" for even bringing this place, but we'll just go beyond the part and talk about what I really want to know here ]

  My wife and I went to an Android (Bionic) for me and an iPhone (4 s) for her. However, his old phone (Storm 2) has recently been replaced because his former 1 storm went wrong on her... and now, since my father thought finally get something to replace his old (not to mention, broken and unusable) Palm device, we thought we might as well give him the Storm 2 and see if it'll work out for what he wants.

  Here's the deal about my father and his PDA... already has a cell phone, so he won't move up to a smart phone, because he does not want to pay the extra money every month just to get a PDA phone when he probably never really use the data service much and all that.

  He wants a phone just to be a phone, and he also wants a PDA... just for the PDA part.

  So, I thought, very well... If he is not willing to move completely in the modern era, then we can at least give him something he can synchronize with Outlook (it works... I already tried) to have its calendar and contacts with him all the time (which it is not able to do with his simple mobile).

  So what I know is that it's possible, at least in a very limited sense... I have the Storm 2 sync with Outlook.
  However, here's my problem... for a reason, even if the wifi card appears to connect to the wifi here in their home access point, it is not actually get an IP address and can't get out on the internet with the browser integrated into all.

  My question is this...
  Is it because it is not possible (i.e. RIM has configured to disable the card wifi within the unit while there is no mobile phone service connected), or who should run, and I should watch more in the sense of something wrong at the level of the home network?

  The reason why I think that it could be something awkward like that within the device itself, it is my new Android and iPhone of the wife are able to connect to the network wireless home here very well.

  Sorry for such a long thing, goofy needs help, but I thought it is a good starting point. If anyone has ideas and is willing to help, please chime.

  p.s. I am a computer scientist. So I have that aspect covered... at least you do not work with a complete * beep * if you jump here.

• BlackBerry smartphones can not unlock 8330 curve

  I use a security code on my BB Curve 8330.  I tried to synchronize media files today through the desktop (win XP) USB interface and has been invited to enter a password.  I used my security code and password account BB, neither worked.  I unplugged the USB cable and now cannot unlock the device by using the keyboard.  Twice I have re-set the device (battery removed), and we invited to enter the word "blackberry" I did.  When you are prompted to unlock the device, I try to enter my code, but instead of the usual displays of * (standard characters when you type a password), I see on the screen the characters I entered.  I use a 4-digit number for my unlock code, but when I get in I see the corresponding value of QWERTY (eg.  type '2' see 'e' on the screen)

  Now I have 9 of 10 attempts and don't want to lose my data.  How can I get this think unblocked?

  1. While you still can, on your BlackBerry smartphone, change the password to something very simple, alpha characters only, not numbers, without capital letters. To do this before you lose all your data. Enter the incorrect password ten times will wipe your device of all data, contacts, calendar, etc.

  2. you probably think that you have a number or a capital letter in your password, and you don't really have.

  for example, if you think your password is "w3rs", try alpha correspondent character and the PW would be "wers".

  You never noticed the error, because the entry hidden on the password.

  I recently did the software update proposed in consequence of which I had to re - install Facebook. Since then, I found that when I go to enter a new appointment, there are some new top that says send to help: and I choose Facebook, home, or office (the 2 is what I call my email accounts)

  I don't want this option here, especially since the default value is Facebook (he seems to be in alphabetical order)

  The BlackBerry smartphone has the ability to maintain multiple calendars. You can select your timetable and services default e-mail to the title of the default Services Options-Advanced Options.

  Once DX80/70 is blocked, it must be unlock to appeal.

  But if DX80/70 even receive a call coming, if the call is answered and then peripheral gets unlocked automatically without PIN code.

  Anyone may call out from the same device without unlocking.

  Why the device gets unlocked automatically, once the incoming call was answered?

  Rajesh Hi, I have checked this behavior in my lab and have opened a bug with the DX developers on this.  the ID of the bug is CSCuu86438 but is not currently approved or public.  I agree this shouldn't work this way and hope that this bug, I presented the problem in a future release close.

• Screen of the blackBerry Smartphone is no longer automatically stop when the phone is not used

  I have a Verizon 8830.  I have the side switch programmed to lock the device.  In the past, when I blocked the device, the screen would turn off after 2 seconds, which would save battery.  Now, when I lock it, the display turns off after two seconds but then it turns back on.

  I can get it to decrease intensity with backlight settings, but I can't have to go completely dark.  As far as I know, I have not changed any settings.

  Any ideas?

  It fixed the old-fashioned way... I did a hard reset.  It works again.

  Problem I have is that the keypad lock / unlock at the top on the left always gets pushed in my pocket.  When this happens, all kinds of buttons are is pressed and it screwing and calling people.  I had the Blackberry World Edition where you had to hold down two keys to unlock.  Is this something I can do with the storm?

  I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

  • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

  It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

  If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

  But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

  Simply switch does not help, please reboot your device in this way while your unit is powered on stack removed waiting for a min. then reinsert back, after reboot, please check if the problem persists.

  Our small company has obtained 10 storms - but one of them (mine!) had no installs it standard app - like the docstogo and GPS app.  What is the way the most "effective" to get installed them on my BB?  (And I got the display-it didn't hide that I am not - they do not appear in the Options - Advanced - Applications applications either)
