BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry user tools install interrupt

Equip the cd on a Dell Dimension 630 laptop running XP and click on 'start' on the Cd and it opens a new window "blank" with BlackBerry user tools in the upper left corner and nothing else. Just hangs there.

Any thoughts?

Thank you.

Zoot.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry user tools?

    I just read what wrote J Sanders and my experience has been just the opposite. I'm trading my tours in the storms. My brother loves her and he uses every day. My question is, I down loaded the Blackberry Desktop Manager and have used it on the Tour, and I wonder if I need to down load another Manager or if I can use the one I have?

    Thanks in advance for any response.

    Well, there would be two installation steps. The premiera to DTM and a second install the device operating system package. In Add or remove programs from the PC, there will be something for the device software - mine says "BlackBerry Device Software v4.7.0 for BlackBerry 9530 smartphone"... If I had to begin the process, it's that I uninstall and replace it with the package of device to my new BB OS. If it isn't on your, then the whole device cannot been installed on the PC.

    Options - such as the icon homescreen options? Indeed, it would be not good. Suggest the following:

    Whenever random strange behaviors creep, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

    Best!

  • Prevent local users to install Firefox

    For some reason, the local users are able to download and install Firefox on their profiles. It installs in their file C:\Users\ < user > to \AppData\ and does not appear in the list of software to uninstall so that the local user who placed it.

    As a system of administration that does not want any user to install ANY software, unless they are using an administrator account, this is very frustrating. How to avoid as local users on our network, without administrative rights to install this software?

    Hello kafri, when the installer for firefox (and many other programs) is run without administrator privileges that he could deliver his program files in this directory to users appdata rather than be installed globally for all users of this computer.
    If you want to restrict that you will have to consider in defining certain system policies as described in the https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2008.06.srp.aspx (this will beyond the scope of our forum, however).

    Y at - it a registry key to check if the current user can install a windows updates? also, what registry key that is used to verify whether a user is an administrator or not. Thank you...

    There is no need to check the registry keys to see if you can install updates or not.

    You just need to be connected to an administrator account to install the Windows updates.

    You can check if you are in an administrator account by trying taks simple administrattor. For example. Try to change the time system.

    If you can change the time, you are an administrator; no other.

    How can I, as an administrator, set up Windows XP as a user cannot install a program, but a user can install an update.   For example, a user would be forbidden to install Adobe Acrobat.  But once installed by the administrator, the user can install the updates later.

    If it comes to only Adobe Acrobat it not there no available for this group policy.
    Other functions of Windows, use the Group Policy Editor.

  • How to prevent users from installing new programs in Windows 7

    Hello

    I need to prevent users to install (and download) of new programs in Windows 7. I am responsible for three computers. They are not on one network (other than the internet, of course).

    I read the article "How to prevent users from installing new programs in Windows 7" but I'm not sure what choice to make when I get to the choice of Windows Installer. I'm also not quite know how to cancel that so I can install the software when I have to. I've never done this if I want to be very careful.

    Can anyone help?

    Many thanks,

    KK

    Are their accounts 'Administrator' or 'Standard' user level?

    If they are directors of the machine, and then create a new Admin account (only you know the password) and then lower their Standard user accounts. If they attempt to install programs now it should be prompted to enter the Admin password that they won't.

    User accounts - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2663817

    Also see http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/299-user-account-control-uac-change-notification-settings.html for info UAC - and adjust the required level.

    If their accounts are accounts administrator and for some reason must be a competent user, then will probably be able to undo everything you put up anyway.

    PS - what specific article?

    Well seems the only thing to do is to spend the money, you will need to upgrade your version of Windows to the professional or ultimate edition:-

    I also suggest to make a new profile user limited to children and put a password on your.

  • How to prevent any user to install the software?

    Hello

    In our environment, we have the field. We are in the domain user.
    I need to restrict the user to install software that have the admin privilege?

    You need to change the 'Admin' user to 'Standard' account, as the Admin account can always install software on their local computer.

    You can also post your question on the Windows 7 IT Pro forum for a possible alternative: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproinstall/threads

  • Is there anyway that a domain user can install the application without administrator rights in Windows 7 Professional?

    We are a small IT shop and we look for ways allow domain users install the application to their practice without having to babysit them or run from one PC to another.  I read an article on group policy, but he does not understand the implementation.

    is this possible at all?
    Thank you

    You need to change the privileges of use in Active Directory on the server. Or create a local computer account and allow users to install applications to use it.

    Using Active Directory would be the most simple, open AD > users

    Right-click on the account and change the domain they can log on which is administrators.

  • stop machines virtual If vm tools installed

    Hello

    Is there any script shutdown of MV gracefully where vm tools installed otherwise stop with force and expect that all virtual machines stop and export this output.

    What you want to export, the names of the virtual machines and how they were arrested?

    If you put the code above in a separate file .ps1, you can add a statement, param, and who use the name of the cmdlet Get - VM parameter.

    Like this

    Param([String[]]$VMNames)

    Get-VM-name $VMNames | %{

    if($_.) {ExtensionData.Guest.ToolsRunningStatus - eq "GuestToolsNotRunning")}

    Stop-VM - VM $_ - confirm: $false

    }

    else {}

    Stop-VMGuest - VM $_ - confirm: $false

    }

    }

    Now you can call this

    .\myScript.ps1 - VMNames $vmspwof
