  It is a browser notification.  To clear the notification, go to the folder main message, press menu, view the folders and choose wap push messages, clear this check box.

  I've just updated the software on my Curve 8520 and one of my e-mail icons disappeared. I've had two, a work (Microsoft Exchange) and staff (Hotmail), but now the Hotmail one disappeared.   If you don't see it still, look at the Options > advanced > Applications. Do you not see it listed there?
