  OK I looked everywere in the phone to be able to choose a ringtone for my MMS, text and my email thru blackberry.net and I can't seem to find a way to do it. I need to be notified when an incoming message is received, someone at - it indexes?

  Should be able to if you go into your profiles on the home screen icon. In the menu that appears scroll down to advanced. Click the profile 'Active'. From there, you can click on the category of Messages to change Holster/In case settings to control how the device will work for incoming emails. You can also change the SMS category to change the incoming text message response.

  I now have the Bold 9900.  Really nice phone.  Easy to scroll etc.

  But what annoyed me, is that the ringtones on the 8520 are not on the 9900... so if you get use to them, you can have is more them.

  I am applying ringtones by following the directions of Blackberry;

  1. click on "profiles".

  2. click on "Advanced".

  3. Select a profile and click on "Menu".

  4. then click on 'show ringtones.

  Nothing shows up for me... the directory that appears is/home/user/music. In my view, the directory that needs to happen is/home/user/ringtones. There is a folder that contains the default pre-loaded ringtones.

  How can I change the /ringtones from /music directory?

  Scroll down to PHONE

  Click on your

  then click on the ringtone and select your choice

  Click SAVE

  This will give the tone to this profile.

  Hi, I tried everything, including the Verizon support call and will have no chance. Anyone know if it is even possible to assign ringtones to a phone number in your contacts list?  I had no problem using a downloaded as my ringtone default ringtone, but it doesn't seem to be a way to assign one to a particular caller.

  I should mention that I use the Blackberry Storm.

  Yes. Open the address book, and then contact you desire to have a specific ringtone > Edit > scroll CUSTOM RINGTONE/ALERTS > phone and he put out there.

• BlackBerry smartphones lost my default ringtones and alert sounds

  Recently, I swapped my small SD card for another.  During this process, it seems that all of my default ringtones and all sounds have disappeared.  They appear in the list of options available in the profile application, but I heard "dung dung dung" whenever I try to scroll in the list.

  I have somehow lost them when I changed cards?

  Is it possible to re - install?

  no no no, if you have ever moved the ringtones to the media card, they they are on the memory of the device, not the press card.

  I was just guessing.

  Thus, they are always there.

  With the BlackBerry device powered time, remove battery for a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart.

  See if they work now.

• BlackBerry Smartphones need help with ringtones! Please, I beg you.

  I have a few rings that I am coming on my blackberry curve. If I go to my Office Manager, it shows them in music but I don't know how to move into the ringtone folder. I also have them Rhapsody, but for some reason, it's my blackberry does not appear here (HE did last night). Can someone help me please?   I hope you save them to a media card and not the memory of the device.  You have a memory card?  And when you specify downloads can be saved to?

• BlackBerry smartphones can not add ringtone

  When I try and click on custom in the address book ringtones, nothing happens. The NUM key will appear in the upper right. I can add photos that need me for my files, but I can't in ringtone files via the address book. I can achieve their ends through the media ICON

  Here's what I do:

  1. Home screen
  2. address book
  3. Choose a contact, click it.
  4. Open the menu, select 'Edit '.
  5. Open the menu, select "Add Custom phone Tune".
  6. that adds a new line called 'Custom phone Tune', and on the right a list of all the songs that are in the ringtones folder.
  7. I just click the ALT key to move through the list.
