BlackBerry smartphone how to set ringtone for messages

OK I looked everywere in the phone to be able to choose a ringtone for my MMS, text and my email thru blackberry.net and I can't seem to find a way to do it. I need to be notified when an incoming message is received, someone at - it indexes?

My carrier is Verizon just in case where what matters.

Should be able to if you go into your profiles on the home screen icon. In the menu that appears scroll down to advanced. Click the profile 'Active'. From there, you can click on the category of Messages to change Holster/In case settings to control how the device will work for incoming emails. You can also change the SMS category to change the incoming text message response.

Thanks for the info. you're right, I probably have a Blackberry account through my provider of the support cell. I didn't know this until I bought this phone. I love on the phone, except that I wish RiM would have included courier pop and internet through the cellular provider without the need to have a special account. It's expensive and with the extra cost, I don't want to activate the account. Thanks again for the info.

    Hello

It is unfortunate that you did not know this before purchase... a pity indeed. But, be aware that BB provides some unique items that are for the customer BB companies don't. For example, carriers must install and maintain a unique infrastructure that is only for their BB customers. As a result, they may charge extra for these services. It is regrettable that they have not revealed these facts you advance... oh, it's the companies that control the price... no RIM.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to set a signature for my text Messages I send?

    Curve 8330?

I do not think that someone has found a way to have the signature automatically fill, but you can change your AutoText list to change what you type ("Wohnzimmer" or "GIS", for example) to what you want for a signature.  Options > AutoText > * Menu key * > New.

Hope that helps.  A little frustrating tho.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to set up internet and e-mail?

    Hello!

I recently bought a BB 8300 BES (I guess) and West no way to configure it! All I can do is to activate email business (which I did not), and theres no option of browser or via e-mail (I can not add email accounts)! Is it possible to change to BIS? My ISP gave me all the info I have to configure my device, but I can't find where.

Thanks a lot for your help!

If your provider has only a BlackBerry of pay-per-use plan, not a data plan unlimited BlackBerry? When you talked to them how did say you must configure e-mail accounts?

BES or BIS isn't the software, just the 2 types of plans you can choose from. With BIS, you can configure up to 10 personal email accounts, browse the internet and includes the package data unlimited (generally excluding text messaging). With this plan, your Inbox of your e-mail account synchronizes with a BlackBerry. All data must be synchronized via a wired connection with the Desktop Manager software. The price of this plan is usually about $30 (depending on your operator).

BES has all of that with the addition of the messaging capability of installation on the device company. If your employer has a BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) all data allows to synchronize the BlackBerry wireless. The price of this plan is usually about $ 45 (depends on your operator).

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to set up spam control?

Is it possible to implement spam controls so I did not so much junk e-mail? I use AOL for personal use and Outlook for business messaging. He does not age to have not remove so many spam messages! Help!

Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

Which is BETTER done at the mail server level, for example on AOL spam controls. Your BB seizes all e-mails and pushed back them to the device, so once it hits the server, it's the unit. If you can squeeze your spam on AOL and your professional account controls, this is the way to go...

Otherwise, AntAir is the only BB spam filter I've seen...

Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

It is not a function in the native operating system to the only password protect address book contacts only, or individual.

You can password protect the entire device. On your device > Options > Security > General settings (or password on some OS versions later).

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how do you set ringtones

How do you define different ringtones for messages, emails and mms messages, and instant messages. This is my first BlackBerry and any help would be greatly appreciated

Sure. You can enter profiles | Advanced. On this screen, you can click on the profile you want to edit. On the next screen, you will see the different categories that represent what you can change. Thus, for example:

    • For emails - click Messages
    • Telephone - click on the phone
    • For text messages - click the text SMS

Each category will have the same screen, where you can change the ring volume, vibration.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how do I set up voice mail for the first time?

I'm going to lose my mind.  I think not (even in the manual) for simple instructions on how to set up voicemail for my husband on the BB 8800.  There are all sorts of questions and answers on the voicemail, but I just need to know how to set up for the first time.  The message you get when you call the phone is "this user has not yet established by voice mail" (or something to that effect).

    Help, please!

It's simple in Act! Go to the call log -> click on Menu , then select Options -> voice mail. In the access number put your carriers voicemail mailbox number. Some carrier requires your password which you can also put in the.

    Let know if it helps.
