BlackBerry Smartphones multi tap

I can't get my phone to predictive text.  In the upper right corner is a gray box that says "cap" and when I press alt I get in the same gray box "num".

Hi and welcome to the forums!

No data will be lost when you do the following: remove the battery while the device is activated.

Remplacer replace after one minute, let the device reboot 1-3 minutes, see if the problem is corrected.

Thank you.

    Hello

I've been syncing with outlook for awhile now, when out of the blue that two days ago my calendar synchronization wants to remove all entries in the diary. I don't either synchronization or to do. So I backup everything first commit. It turns out that he deleted all entries in Outlook. So I import from backup and the re-synchronization. Now, I have two calendars, the default and my hotmail calendar. Does anyone know how to remove an or set it so it defaults to one or the other so I don't see duplicate entries? I'd rather remove one so I did not double the data on the BlackBerry, but I'll do what I can.

    Thank you

    Ken

Had the same problem recently... Here's what I ended up doing...

Note: Perform a full backup first! Just in case

    (1) connect your device to the computer and open DM and goto "Backup and restore", select "Advanced".

    (2) on the right, you will see the "peripheral" databases Scroll through this list until you find 'Calendar' and 'calendar - All. "

    (3) for me when this happened, 'Calendar' reported record "xxxx" and "Calendar - All" 2 x "xxxx". "So I selected 'Calendar' and clicked on the"<" button="" in="" the="" middle="" to="" copy="" it="" over="" to="" "computer="">

    (4) then select 'Calendar - All' on the side of the 'peripheral' databases and click on 'Clear', do the same with "calendar."

    (5) once disabled, select "Calendar" on the left ("databases") and click on the ">" button in the middle to copy it to the device... and...

    (6) does.

Should dissipate double, worked for me with some records of 1500 +.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how can I turn on while Autotext as part of multi-tap?

Shortly after the storm, I set my default keyboard to multi-tap. I absolutely loved because I had the classics 'counted' keyboard, but was still able to have Suretype capabilities due to the AutoText function (the storm is my first BlackBerry and I can't get used to the Suretype keyboard for the life of me).

I don't know what I did today, but all of a sudden insertions disappeared and I have to spell words instead of just typing a few letters and by selecting the word. When I flip through this landscape, the AutoText works, but when I flip to portrait goes back to multi-tap. There is this weird icon in the top right corner that was never there before.

I went to 'options' to ensure that the AutoText is enabled (which is).

Does anyone know how to turn on automatic insertion in multi-tap mode?

    Any help would be appreciated!

I have discovered to get predictive text in any mode, you must follow this convoluted path:

Options > language > input Options > predictive input (check box).

When you switch between the styles of keyboard in portrait mode, it somehow goes back to mulitap, even though the predictive text box is enabled. So, anytime he spends modes, here I'll uncheck the box, save, check again, save, then go back to the text.

You must be in alphanumeric mode (or whatever mode you want) before you do, if that's where you want to use predictive text.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones predictive multi tap...? It's there... then, it is not!

Hi guys! I had the storm of last Saturday, couple of problems... batterylife and accelerometer sometimes sticks... ? someone else?
Main reason why I posted this is because of input methods. Gold to my knowledge, there were three input method:
    QWERTY on the side
    SureType in portriat
    Multi-tap in portrait

    up until yesterday...
the multitap function was predictive! like on my old nokia n95! I've been disappionted when I discovered that the blackberry was not this function, as it's my favorite style (can not get used to suretype)
I was in the web browser when it happened! I closed the browser and was able to write a message with predictive multitap! stupidly, I turned back on it in suretype to see if I could find out how to turn on predictive multitap again...
.. havnt been able to do since! I tried everything, I'm really good with phones, and I can't find it anywhere! called vodafone, has tried to find a helpline blackberry or something, I mean I was directed here, can someone please please tell me
    1. If I have come to the right place

    2. the technical assistance team blackberry GET back do you themselves
    3. If anyone knows how to get the storm to predictive multi tap if it was a problem? lol, its so sad, it's so important for me, but im a writer of great texter/message and information to get it to tap predictive multi would be noting less than golden. Thank you

    Ok

my blackberry storm HAS t9 is currently working (NOT suretype! - t9 is 9 keys with predictive text - layout similar to multitap)

These are the settings... - try this and it might work for... go you device options

in entry options > predictive input enabled.

    spell check enabled

Screen / KEYBOARD settings - keyboard mode portrait > multitap on

I would like to know if you have any luck guy!

  • Tapping a Pearl 9100 blackBerry smartphones

Hey guys, I just got a Blackberry Pearl 9100 off eBay for a good price ($70 with battery, charger and USB cable), and I can't wait to use it. I wasn't expecting to have problems with typing because I had used a friends for awhile before very well, but...

.. .but I can't type top. I don't know what is happening but for the life of me I can't understand how to type a URL correctly (because most of the words in an URL not be recognized). I just spent 20 minutes trying to get to TVTropes without success. Is there a way to turn off the predictive text or something so that you can type just by pressing the letters you want? I can see how the predictive SureType things might be great for messaging and so on, but it is almost impossible to get a URL entry.

Or maybe I just hurt and need practice, but I spent a good bit of time on Google before coming here too and no luck with finding how typing is supposed to work in detail. Taking ALT annoys me numbers instead of letters replacing, shift implements capital and so on.

Help please? Thank you! I want to make sure I'm doing something wrong and that there is nothing wrong with the phone (which is used).

Maybe these links will help you:

I've never used a Pearl, but maybe this will help you.

You can switch between text predictive (safe-Type) and ABC (multi-tap) mode on your Blackberry Pearl by navigating to the folder 'Options '. Select the option "Language", then "input language" and finally the input method you want to use.

  • Screen problem touchscreen blackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry Storm2 9550

    Hello!

I am a Sri Lanakan. Last week, I bought a Blackberry Storm2 9550 used, eBay (from a seller of e. u.). All the functions work fine except the touch screen. Can press on the touchscreen. (edges and around the screen) But he get caught suddenly, and also when am pressing an icon, phone highlights another icon. (as axample, when am pressing contacts in the home screen, phone highlights two contacts and sms). As I suppose, at this time there the phone detects it as multi touch and so I can't support what either. When am reset (battery pull) the phone, it solves the issue for a few minutes or hours, subsequently faced the same question.

I tried to fix it by putting a piece of paper to the battery cavity, but nothing has changed.

My storm is an unlocked phone (Comes to Verizon, but later unblocked), which is running version 5 software. ...... . 713 fact in Mexico 5.

I want also to the last update available for my phone and how to update.

    madhava909 wrote:

You have other ideas on my problem touch screen? This is the main question, I want to solve as soon as possible. Do I need to fix it with a spacialist? Is it a hardware failure or a software? He solved by upgrading my version of software or restore to the factory settings.

None of these remedies could work. Without practice, it is impossible for me to know anything 100%. The best advice I can give you is to upgrade your operating system to the latest version (. 1015). It could very well be that, as a device, it was damaged by the previous owner and it will never work for you. As I say, it is impossible to tell at this distance-internet.

    madhava909 wrote:

In my opinion, Yes, but there are others in the world who think differently. The best reference is the official:

Most of us who have dealt with this for awhile understand that power should be turned on when you pull the battery.

If something is wrong in the upgrade process, all your data is lost forever. The update method that I gave you is the best method that 1) it tells you first take a manual backup and 2) the process itself will also take another backup... and both of these backup files are stored on your PC and can later serve as a source of food since they are not 1-use files.

  • Sellers of understanding of blackBerry on blackberry Smartphones

    Hey

My boss gave me his old blackberry. He used proximus (Belgium). I don't think that the phone is locked (how I see this?).

He also had a problem with in the past, this has been fixed but suddenly no more Dutch language.

I searched this forum and found a software link (Desktop & Device Software Download Sites for BlackBerry users):

If you have not purchased your BlackBerry® smartphone directly from Research In Motion (RIM), please select the link to your service provider below to download the BlackBerry® Desktop Software and BlackBerry® Device Software that your service provider has authorized for use with your device.

If I understand correctly: Let's say if I'm going to buy a new company BASIC SIM card (a provider of services in Belgium), I need to install the software for this service provider.

Does this mean that if I am abroad (outside), I can't use the phone more?

I need blackberry device software to reinstall the blackberry, so the Dutch language is back.

Is there a difference between these software (sorted by country) or what's available that's different languages?

Hello and welcome to the community!

You have several misunderstandings... then this post will be a bit long... Sorry about that...

    # With the appropriate tips (below), you can use any bundle of BONES of any carrier, as long as it's your specific model BB number.

    haramo wrote:

    Completely independent.

To use your BB when out of your network home, and if you want to keep your home SIM card inserted, you must have stored with your carrier network for roaming, international data plan if that's where you are roaming to.

To use your BB on a network of different carrier with their SIM card, you must first have unlocked your BB is carrier home (see above for that).

Other (applies to both), your BB must be compatible with the carrier data network technology and frequency... If the radio inside your BB does not support the network of the carrier, then nothing will work. If it is compatible, then you should be able to receive voice-level services. But for data level BB services, must still ensure that your specific model BB number is supported by this network of carrier for AutoShip of HRT and maintenance to your BB book... If not, then you will not be able to receive data of BB services.

    haramo wrote:

Is there a difference between these software (sorted by country) or what's available that's different languages?

It's actually more and less complicated than that. Looking at all the 4 bytes of the version number of the operating system, if the two carriers have the same version, then the package is the same from the functional point of view BB. However, each company tends to "Pack" the package they release with some specific things from carrier, but none of this is really necessary... it's usually just things like icons of teaser for applications that a carrier has agreed to try to push their users. Not important.

Regarding the language, it is not simply a matter of the carrier you choose. It is rather a question of the OS package you choose, such as governed by this KB:

    • Article ID: KB05305 Location of support for BlackBerry smartphones

    haramo wrote:

I need blackberry device software to reinstall the blackberry, so the Dutch language is back.

OK, with all the foregoing of the road now, the easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do this on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.
    • Use the location KB link above as your guide to choose a package that contains the language you want.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue. When installing, be sure to check deeply to all available applications to choose to settle... don't forget to dig deep into each element of multi-level and don't forget that you have selected everything that relates to your language (s) you want.

Good luck and let us know!

Hello and welcome to the community!

For backup of your contacts from your Yahoo account, you will need to disable wireless synchronization.

Go to contacts > Tap on the BlackBerry key menu > options > look for the e-mail account > tap on it, you will see the wireless sync if it is on you will see a control on the right uncheck it > click on the BlackBerry Menu button to memorize.

Then try to fill, save, & include backup - capacity storage media, before to set up your unit to the factory to add your new BlackBerry ID, wen you create your new BBID with a different e-mail account, you will need to go this account email & confirmed your email with the password of the BBID this wen so that you try to reset in the future he won't ask answer you the question of safety.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not download applications

Hello, I recently brought the new 9320. I have the card memory base San Disk that come with the Blackberry. Also, as soon as I put the phone I downloaded Blackberry Desktop Support software. The desktop software and storage on the phone at the same time options I have a 14.4 MB remaining on the phone storage and 1.4 GB left on my memory card. When I try to download apps on the phone via my WiFi it is said that there is not enough remaining space. I guess that the phone will only attempt to download the application in the device memory. Is it possible that I can get the phone to automatically download the application directly on my memory card? Or is there another problem that prevents me download apps?

    Thank you.

Hello and welcome to the community!

There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) application memory, the device memory) 2 and 3) Media/SD Card Memory.

Application memory - it is the most important; It is protected (not available to the user), dedicated and (fixed size) space as the destination for the installation of applications (the BONE itself more certain applications storage, overhead and such). You can't touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can install only here... There is no other choice.

The device memory - it is space on your BB you can touch these files, images, media, etc. In general, it is not very big, but it is available.

Memory card SD/Media- is what it says... your SD card to store files, media, photos, etc.. It can be as large as your BB OS can support... see this KB:

    • KB05461 Sizes of card MicroSD taken in charge by the BlackBerry device software

On some devices/OS levels, you can see 'Free file' (Options > status), I think this is equivalent to AppMemory. You can see on other devices, all the memory usage levels three (Options > memory). Here are some tips to use:

    • KB02843 What is the function of low memory manager on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14320 How to maximize space and power battery life on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14213 Call logs, SMS text and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone

Finally, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

In addition, each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy. Some have taken to do this on a regular basis as a preventive measure... some as often as once a day. Others got the app QuickPull to automate a simulated Batt Pull.

Thus, issues of the app, it is a question of AppMemory... Please see the information above in order to maximize the amount of free AppMemory on your BB. If your particular model of BB has a limited amount of total AppMemory, then you must understand the mixture of 'must have' for you and then give priority to your "optional elements" in order to charge as much as you can, sacrifice these things of lower priority.

    Good luck!

Age of your device is not relevant. If your usage patterns consume a lot of resources, it's the situation. But I have no way of knowing what your habits are, so I can't guide you. Basically, however, you will need to find out what is 'normal' for your usage patterns and then only worry when things diverge significantly from that. If it means charge 3 times a day due to a very intense use, that's what it means.

It is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them.

  • Japanese language for blackBerry Smartphones

Is it possible to have the BB Curve 9220 installed a Japanese language?

Japanese reading is OK, but I'm unable to type with it. ):

    For the moment, I can only use Japanese by copying and pasting the characters of a note that I downloaded. ;_;

    But it is not practical.

    Can someone help, please?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi kagamine

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums

Yes, it is possible to install the Japanese language on your curve 9220, all you had to do is download a pack of BONES all the language and then install it on your PC, then he had to use BlackBerry Desktop Software to add the Japanese language. You can try this way:

    1. download and install on your PC of any OS pack with any language or multi-language pack by carriers

    • (Make sure you download for the same phone model)

    2. download and install the latest version of BlackBerry desktop from here BlackBerry desktop software software

    3. search your drive C: Vendor.xml and delete them, there may be one or two vendor.xml (on the change of your Pc as your records option to show the hidden files/folders):

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\Windows UserName\AppData\Roaming\Research in Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

Once done open BlackBerry Desktop Software (7.1) > select Applications. > in the section of language and support for entry , select the language to be added to the BlackBerry smartphone (a + will appear next to the language to install) > click apply.

  • BlackBerry smartphones is this a problem with my Bold 9700 flash memory?

A few annoying problems recently with my Bold 9700.

First, my Blackberry has suddenly started to massively delete recent appointments in my calendar, which will attempt to remove them from my Outlook calendar when I synchronize the device to my laptop.  This has not happened before, and I checked to make sure that the schedule is set to never delete nominations, and it is set correctly.

Second, my Blackberry App World application (both on the device and online) does not display one of my installed applications, except one, but they are all still on the device and working properly.  I'm 18 apps installed from BB App World, beyond the pre-installed applications on the device, which are less than 10 MB in total size.

The reason I think that the problem could be linked to the internal flash memory is that whenever I want to install an application, I usually get a message indicating there is enough memory and I have to uninstall some other applications to free up space.  When I checked my memory earlier, he said that had less than 1 MB.  I restarted the machine and now it tells me there is 12.2 MB of available space, which always seems incredibly low for me since I installed only about 10 MB of my own applications.  So, I delete the file all attachments of the device and do not keep e-mail on the device beyond 30 days, and all media is stored on flash cards, not in the device memory.

The most important question I have to solve is how to prevent the device to delete data from calendar (it keeps recurring appointments, but has been deleted and everything before about two weeks ago).

    Hello

It's an automatic protection mechanism with BBs. During the AppMemory (not the device, no media memory card memory) get low, the BB must start deleting things to preserve its ability to operate. Unfortunately, he really can't go after data... it can't really go after installed applications.

    • KB10183 E-mail messages are removed from the BlackBerry device until the messages expire

In addition, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them.

Now, AppMemory is not just for the apps... the real BB operating system is here as well. Depending on the options you have included, which might be things bloating as well.

    Good luck!

  • How to increase memory Application of BlackBerry Bold BlackBerry Smartphones?

Can someone please let me know as how can I increase the "Application memory" my camera 9000 (Bold) BlackBerry?

Whenever I install a new app he consumes the memory of the application from my device. Can I install the new application on the device memory which can be expanded, I think.

    Thank you

Hello and welcome to the community!

There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) application memory, the device memory) 2 and 3) Media/SD memory card

Application memory - it is the most important; It is protected (not available to the user), dedicated and (fixed size) space as the destination for the installation of applications (more a few storage applications, overhead and other costs). You can't touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can install only here... There is no other choice.

The device memory - it is space on your BB you can touch these files, images, media, etc. In general, it is not very big, but it is available.

Memory card SD/Media - is what it says... your SD card to store files, media, photos, etc..

Best!
