  I recently installed the updated my Curve 8520 preconfigured and saved successfully to my Blackberry Desktop software. However, when I try to synchronize Organizer data to the "select data to synchronize Organizer" screen, I cannot check the option buttons.   There is virtually no diagnosis of those - they are the equivalent of random errors in Windows for which trace the root cause is futile. Basically, here's the last out in the programming code - some event occurred for which there is no event handler in the code.   I recently bought a blackberry curve 8520 with Fido. My phone is connected to my wifi at home, but I want to assure you that I'm strictly using data NOT wifi (because I don't have a data plan). I noticed that in a network public wifi, a red asterisk * - appears on the WiFi icon in the upper right of the phone. Like this:
