BlackBerry Smartphones no sound on sms notifications?

Good evening everyone.

I've never had a problem, but lately of 50% of the time I don't get a tone sound when a text is available in?  I checked my profile and my phone is NOT set to mute or calm.  I also did a battery pull.  Any ideas?  I'm on OS 4.6.0.30 1.

Thank you

Arlene

I discovered through trial and error that it's a call blocking program with a bug in it his code of firewall.  It has been corrected and the SMS notifications are back to normal again.

Hi, I got a notification on my screen on new sms messages, but in the sms list, there is no new messages. Anyone know how I can solve it? Thank you!

Tips to clear the message unread... try them in the order.

If you have a new icon rogue Message on your homescreen, one of these solutions could erase or reset:

    Try these options:
The main Messages folder and select today's date, click on the menu button and then select Mark prior opened.
    * Hard Reset BlackBerry now ALT CAP (right Shift key) and DEL (or with the BlackBerry power, remove the battery and reinsert the battery)
    Messages > saved Messages
Messages > view folders, check each folder (calls, SMS and MMS, and boxes, saved missed boxes, browser, phone logs etc.)
    * Scroll at the top of the folder, on the title menu, click or tap to MARK PRIOR OPEN date
Change your theme and see if it persists and return to your desired theme. (Options > theme > select.)
    * Connect to Desktop Manager > backup/restore > advanced. On the right pane is the list of the data on your device. Scroll to the e-mail highlighted messages database, and then below, select TRANSPARENT. This will clear your system of all messages.
    * Clean and reload your OS.

I am a new owner of Blackberry and can't find how to set ringtones and other notification sounds. any help is greatly appreciated.

    Good,

The profiles are just another way to say 'mode' as in vibrate mode, normal mode, etc.

You can find the icon for it?

  • Alert Email of disabled blackBerry Smartphones but still receive a notification

I have my blackberry storm installer with my business and personal email accounts.  I have notifications for installation on all accounts not warn me or the LED flash when I get a new email.  However, when I receive an email to my business address, my phone vibrate or ring if I have my phone on silent or ring.  It's very annoying I will receive allot of e-mails at work every day.  I have already entered the alert messages, selected my corporate email, turned the volume to silent, turned off the light and the vibration off.  Somehow, I always get a notification to every email.  Nobody knows another parameter to disable this notification?

So I thought about it.  What you have to do is to go and create a custom profile.  Then go to the menu screen, click on sounds and scroll down to custom profiles.  Once you do this set the profile settings to work as you want and save the profile.  Now make sure to set it as your active profile.  No more bad vibes.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones beep sound during voice communication... it is impossible to have a converse on the telephone line

I noticed that the sound signal come on when the BB is trying to access the data service. While on the phone, the beep is very clear and when it rings, it cuts the voice communication, it is impossible to hear the other party. Sometimes, there is a continuous beep that a last minute or more and making the "BOLD" BB a useless phone device. How can I turn off the beep? Or is it possible that turn off the data service when voice communication is established? There are only three choices in the menu, on, off and off data roaming service.

BTW, what is the symbol of the notification at the top with the yellow globe sign and number 1 means? The handset is waiting for a response from the Web service? How do you know what it does and how to make it go away?

I am disappointed to find this forum is the chanel ONLY to ask advice and solution. It's very strange, that there is no common support email.

Hey jadi, the yellow globe and a '1' beside her looks like a notification from the browser that it has lost its connection.  If you look in your messages folder there message with the link to your web page.

insofar as the sound signal, try looking at your profile on the BB settings.  There is an option at the bottom of each article to warn that says "warn me then appeals".  check and change to 'no' if it is 'yes '.  to this success the menu (button left of the Pearl) and go to your profile icon that looks like a speaker with waves coming out of it to the right.  There, he'll tell which profile is active.  It will probably be the "normal" profile if you hearing other tones and ringtone.  Go to the bottom of the screen, then select "Advanced".  Once there in there click on the items in there and check to see if this option to 'Notify me during calls' is set to 'yes '.  If so change to 'no '.  see if that will set the tone.  It will be useful.

There are other forums looking for answers as well, but is supported directly by RIM/Blackberry and most often used. I used blackberryforums.com, but I always come back to this (supportforums.blackberry.com), which for me is the best option.  CrackBerry.com is another.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Priv do not receive notifications of Hub, unless the Hub app is open.

Strange... If I restart my phone... (and not to open all apps)... I get notifications by e-mail (sound and LED) for accounts in my Hub.

But once I opened the hub and then close (no longer in my list of recent).  I will no longer receive notifications for accounts Hub... unless I open the app Hub again.

    All this experience?

I think it's time for a factory reset.

I thought I solved the problem.

I use some battery... saver app that was apparently using a profile that had all my synchronization disabled - although in my accounts, he was posted as on.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones cannot SEND the SMS messages on 8130

    Here is my story:

    1. I've upgraded to a Blackberry Pearl 8130 pink in the beginning of the year.   My carrier is Verizon.

    2. recently (a month ago) a friend sent a text message to me of his new phone.  I tried to text back, but received a big big red X indicating that my message isn't getting through.  Specifically, when I opened my message, the error says, "State of the Mobile equipment has failed."

    3. I went to Verizon.  They did something where I think that they took me off the network and then get back on.  There is nothing.  She wanted to make a hard game on the phone, but I had not backed up my data again.

    4. I went home and my data backed up and returned to Verizone about a week later.  I spend more than an hour in the store.  The gentleman who helped me was on the phone with someone (no doubt technical support) nothing works.  He was ready to order me a phone replacement, but after further discussions with technical support, they thought there was a problem with the network, not my phone.  I went home with a case number.

    5. the next day same Verizon called.  They said it wasn't a network problem and it was my phone.  They would send me a replacement.

    6. I received my replacement phone a few days later.  I was anxious to get it set up, but the results were the same.  I have not yet returned to Verizon.  I thought I'd try everything here first see if anyone had any ideas.

    The bottom line:

    I CAN send/receive emails.

CAN I send an MMS message.

    I CAN receive text Messages.

    I can't send SMS messages.

Thanks for any advice you may have.

    -Sandra

    Tami,

Thanks for the reply.  I happy to point out, however, that the problem has been resolved by Verizon!  It has never been my phone, that's why the replacement was a mute point.  Anyway, here is their answer (in case someone else has this problem):

Sandra, we reviewed your account and coding in any of our servers.  We believe that we have found the problem and fixed it.  We ask that you update your PRL (preferred roaming list) by calling the * 228, option 2.  Once completed please test your ability to send text messages.

I'm just glad that the problem has been resolved because my frustration was very high.

    Happy texting!

    -Sandra

  • BlackBerry smartphones BB deleting my SMS and call logs

Oh K my BB removes my SMS and calls to connect its own... a supp with this... He's never done before... Can anyone help

If the device is not enough free space, it will start to delete the call logs and emails in order to make room for the new. Check the free space by going to Options | Status and look at the number "no file". If it is close to 0, so that's why. A quick fix would be to remove the battery for 1 min and then after that the unit will start checks the number of free file again to see if it has increased. • BlackBerry smartphones can not send SMS all showing pending

I composed a few SMS messages. After having worked very well until today, for some reason any, although a message can't send anything now. What I did / I forgot to do? Ive only had the phone for 4 days and have to say that I love him, but it's really annoying! Help! All of my connections are on and I'm currently at about one meter of my broadband connection!

Had had enough and took my phone shop Vodafone. They gave me a replacement SIM, after verifying that all my settings were correct. When they took my old SIM, they commented "oh, my dear, you have an old SIM you don't have it" [the story of my life!]. Inserted the replacement SIM card and went home. Found that I could get only SOS via the phone and SMS messages could not be sent to all them [rather than be left as "pending" as they were before]. Technical support phoned and nice lady spoke to me through the authentication of SIM [seems it didn't had not been 'authenticated' entirely by the store], turned phone off, removed and reinserted new SIM and switched back on. And that is, all flashed in life!

Now also supported top and syncronised my old palm PDA to the blackberry via Outlook - everything is going very well and now in market! Next problem - will not work quite how to transfer my documents/spreadsheets, but this is the problem of the future!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones blocking voice reading SMS

I've recently updated my phone (Curve 9380) software and all messages incoming text (SMS) are read vocally and hard with a voice speaking in Italian with a British accent and mix the two languages. It's really annoying as this option, the value automatically by the software updated (this should not be so, but it's unfortunately), acts independently of any choice of audio profile. How can I remove it?

    Thanks in advance.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to manage SMS?

Is there a way to delete messages on the "BOLD" in groups rather than one by one?  Or all at the same time?  Is this possible on a pc via Blackberry manager?

I get a lot of texts during the day that relate to my work.  Most of them I need to keep for a while, but eventually deletes.  This causes that I have more than 300 sms texts that I sometimes need to delete to create space and get rid of the background image.

    Thank you

    André

If you use Date separators and select one, press the BlackBerry button and it should have a "Delete prior" option. Click to remove all messages before the title Date that you have highlighted. If you use today's Date (which will be at the top of the list, you can delete all messages in the Messages folder.

    Hope this helps
