can anyone help? I feel so lost without my bb. I was delete msgs in my Inbox and then next thng I know my whol sms icon is gone! Ive tried all the possible things and he ain't! :-(

Reloading your operating system should bring back your SMS icon.

Connect your phone to your PC via USB and open the Desktop Manager.  If you have not installed, go to www.blackberry.com and look up for Apps & Software.  The link will be there.

Once you have your phone on and Desktop Manager is open, click device at the top and then update the menu.  You could get a command prompt that your phone is up to date.  It's OK.  Under this prompt, search to display the other Versions.  Click on that.  The version installed on your phone is expected to be the top one in the list.  Ensuring that you keep this checked, click Update and wait it out.

Let us know how it works.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones SMS icon

I have an icon on the screen of my blackberry Curve 8900 which says I have an unread SMS, but the Inbox is empty. I have checked all the records to see if there is an unread message, but found none. How can I get rid of him?  It bothers me a lot!

Tips to clear the message unread... try them in the order.

If you have a new icon rogue Message on your home screen, or a negative number (-1), one of these solutions could erase or reset:

    Try these options:
The main Messages folder and select today's date, click on the menu button and then select Mark prior opened.
    * Hard Reset BlackBerry now ALT CAP (right Shift key) and DEL (or with the BlackBerry power, remove the battery and reinsert the battery)
    Messages > saved Messages
Messages > view folders, check each folder (calls, SMS and MMS, and boxes, saved missed boxes, browser, phone logs etc.)
    * Scroll at the top of the folder, on the title menu, click or tap to MARK PRIOR OPEN date
Change your theme and see if it persists and return to your desired theme. (Options > theme > select.)
    * Connect to Desktop Manager > backup/restore > advanced. On the right pane is the list of the data on your device. Scroll to the e-mail highlighted messages database, and then below, select TRANSPARENT. This will clear your system of all messages.
    * Clean and reload your OS.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones world icon missing app

HI - sorry if this has been solved before and/or requested but I searched and could not "find something. I just got a blackberry storm a few days ago and downloaded the world of blackberry apps and when I go to my download folder is not there and I can't find the app world icon anywhere. It is said that it is installed when I look at my application centre but I'm at a loss to know where he is. Thanks in advance for any help. Jamie

Try to always a wrenching batt. And then try to reinstall just it - it should allow you to install on top of a previous installation without problem.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones SMS and missed calls shows do not in my folder of SMS and MMS

    Hello!

I have no problem with my phone so far - but this morning all of a sudden my message text and MMS folder suddenly only shows my emails.

I can send texts by going to 'compose SMS', but when I get an answer I don't see the text message... I tried to play with the menu Options and the display folder in my text and MMS Inbox, but nothing seems to work!

I assume that you must have changed some settings (I haven't touched this but anyway...) - I would like to reset?

    Help!

Thank you very much for any advice you might be able to give...

Turn on your BlackBerry and off does nothing, except to turn power on and off. Perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart. A reboot in this way is prescirbed for most the gltiches and operating system errors, and you will lose any data on the device doing so.

There is no text in my folder of SMS and MMS - a few emails - not even my old messages...

You can not email in your Messages folder. So, I'm confused, or is it typo?

You have the choice of where to view your SMS/MMS messages:

    • In your main folder.
    • In a folder dedicated to SMS/MMS.
  • BlackBerry Smartphones BBM icon missing

I got a Blckberry Curve 9360 for Christmas and I couldn't have BBM until he changed. I had to wait until January 24, so on that day, I deleted the icon, as I did before, but now it says installed on Blackberry app world and I have no idea how restore it, I tried the Desktop Manager but I do not know how I would do with that. Can anyone help?

    Hi BethMaisie

As suggested in your BlackBerry browser to www.blackberry.com/bbm Explorer to download BlackBerry Messenger on your device.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Facebook icon missing on 8310 with OS 4.5

    Hello

After upgrading to 4.5, some icons were irrelevant and a custom folder was gone, so I started to move. When I started to move the icon of the Facebook app, he disappeared. I have never seen it before. I guess I he accidentally falls into a folder, but it is in any of my files. I selected "show all", but it is not hidden. The app is listed in my applications.

So, I thought that I have just to delete and re-install the application. I did and once again the app shows in my applications, but there is no icon. I see even notifications at the top of my screen indicating that I have new messages on Facebook, but I have no way to open the application.

I've now deleted and reinstalled 3 times but with the same results. I found a message that indicates that there was a problem with the 4.5 OS and the Facebook app and I need a newer version of the application, but the link took me to the same version I have.

Any ideas on how I can get my Facebook back icon?

    Kevin

I see that you did some research yourself congratulations on that.
If I wereyou, I would try two things:
the soft reboot, and if it does not, the hard reboot. Don't worry, you can not lose data with these two reboots.

    Soft reboot:
    1) struck the following three keys at the same time:
    -Alt
    -Left shift
    -Remove
    (2) wait 2 minutes for the Blackberry to wake up.

    Hard reboot:
    (1) your BlackBerry smart phone is on
    (2) remove the battery and wait a minute
    (3) replace the battery
    (4) wait 5 minutes for the device to wake up.

Please tell us if it works for you.

and if it does not, you can change the theme and see if the application is displayed.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones MMS icon missing

    Evening,

I have a Sprint BB 8330 and I have received a few emails from photo, but can't do the links using the General Messages icon...  And I asked my wife, who has one as well, has an icon for Messages MMS...  Is it a default icon, or is that something that should be added?

    Thank you

    Jedi

Jedi, open your messages folder > Menu key > Options > General Options > Email and SMS Inbox = separate.

    And save.

now, you will have a new folder separate from the SMS/MMS.

  • Weird blackBerry Smartphones SMS icon...

    Hello

There is a strange icon on one of my SMS message, instead of the usual envelope or the box, it's a green leaf with a black pen on it. I don't know what it is, and it's really annoying... First, it seems to go up every day, as it is updated or something like that. Second, I can't scroll like the other posts, it's as if the selection would be glued (disappear) just before and I have to scroll to the bottom for a while get past it. Third and not least, I can not DELETE it! Whenever I try to delete it, nothing happens, as I did nothing.

    So here are my questions:

    1 - What is it?

2 - How can I get rid of him?

    Help, please!

    Thank you

In my view, is a text Message that you write and you send not.

Try this, go to the folder main message, press on menu, view the folders and go to the Inbox for sms and sending and remove sms.

If this does not resolve your problem, try to reset the unit, remove the battery for 30 seconds and replace the battery.

    Let me know, thanks.

  • BlackBerry Smartphone Options icon missing - not the usual question

    Hello

I'm about to throw this bad boy out the window.  We just got my husband a 8310 (I already have one).  It uses the theme of the Dimension.  He has relocated part of its icons in a new folder.  While he was trying to get them back by deleting the master file, the folder that contains the icon disappeared.  We tried to hit menu - show all (not there).  We also tried a battery pull and return service directories.  I read about a possible problem with the theme of the Dimension not refreshing properly after you create a new file.  Do you think that re - install the software on my laptop and annihilate the phone would work?  Thanks for your help!

Problem solved.  I just had to return the directories of service a second time.

If you happen to have a data plan and it still does not, try the following:

    Hello Arjun_dec20,

Try to back up and conduct a clean reload of the device software and check the operation before restoring all the data of your SMS icon: http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320

Then do a selective restore of your data, but do not restore the SMS database: http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/KB10339

    Thank you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones SMS and email icons

Is it possible to separate the two?

I noticed that when I get an email, the sms icon is also marked. And vice versa...

Is one of the oddities of the storm?

It is not a big problem, but I was wondering

    Nytnurse40

If you mean, can you have an icon for SMS/MMS and a separate one for Messages, the answer is Yes. In the application Messages (with the list of messages displayed), click on the BB button and select Options > Options of the. Scroll down just a bit for 'SMS and E-mail Inbox' and change that to "separated".
