  Hi all

  Please help me - I've updated my curve today but my PC is dead to half way through. Now when I turn on my phone it just comes up with a list (files, pictures, contacts, etc.) and the statesBlackberry platform 5.2.0.67. I try and close, click on them, but it just says error. How do I fix my phone back to normal?

  There are two methods for recovering for you to try:

  Method 1:

  • Open the Blackberry Desktop Software and connect your device to your PC with the USB OEM cable and without inserting the battery.
  • You will get three options: try again, update or cancel; Click Refresh.
  • Once, it is at the stage of initialization of 'pocket', insert the battery.
  • If this does not work, and you get stuck on the safeguarding of social data feeds, go to the second method below.

  Second method:

  • Start your BlackBerry in safe mode. KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe
  • Connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software and allow handheld to connect. If you are prompted to update, cancel the upgrade for later.
  • IF you can not connect or your desktop software does not recognize your device in Mode safe, please follow the instructions here to force detection: Article ID: KB10144 how to force detect the BlackBerry smartphone using the Application Loader
  • Go to device > delete > SELECT DATA > select this option to remove the Social flow and smart card data bases and follow the rest invites you to complete.
  • Now, you can go back and click to update the device through the Desktop Manager, or restart the BlackBerry in normal mode and continue on the upgrade of the air.

  The backlight turns on, the red LED turns on then turns off and a little timer face (?) appears in the middle of the screen. Then further nothing happens at all.

  I have zero access to the device, so can not give more information.

  Oh... Sorry about that... Since you said that you had already tried, I had no way of knowing that. Apologies for the provision of redundant advice.

  Given your outcome, there is something major wrong with your BB. Your description and results, I can only deduce that it is a problem of equipment, for which no amount of internet-distance nor the software/OS 'fixed' can be useful.

  Therefore, I recommend you seek the support of a local store (to you) with a qualified material BB technician to provide you with a good diagnosis and an estimate. If you stay under warranty, then you could look for assessment under these terms.

• BlackBerry Smartphones SMS Backup-able?

  Hello. I had a BB Bold 9650 for six weeks, and the 'o' key is out.  Verizon sent me a new free, but I have text messages that I really want to keep.  If I do a backup of my phone, which will exclude my texts or is it possible to save them for the transfer?

  I am open to any downloadable software, with which I can save my texts.  But I checked my options in the SMS section and the inside of the text itself, and there seems to be no way to save these texts is to the card by e-mail, the PC or the media.

  Would appreciate any input from anyone before I go ahead and switch phones.  I have maybe just live without "O" key and keep my existing phone.  Sounds crazy, I know, but I really want to save these.  There should be a way to save and transfer all back to the new, I hope.  Searched the web for two hours looking for it but no luck so far.  Thanks for any help you can offer.

  If you are always two devices by hand, then you can use the switch device Wizard:

  Honestly I don't positive how specifically manages the SMS, but there are sections of your user manual that discussing it... You should also check here.

  Also, you can manually back up your SMS database, and then I guess that try to restore:

• BlackBerry Smartphones wipe data for curve 8900

  Hi, I'm new on using a BB.  They keys are unresponsive and the telephone company, said a replacement will be sent within one week.  My problem is I want to "destroy" all data from my camera.  I tried to make the software upgrade and support phone order, but he did not do anything.  I don't want to just not all phone numbers, SMS and emails sent with the unit.

  Can someone help me with this.

  OK... so it's planned...

  The following procedure deletes all data, or all data and applications on the BlackBerry smartphone. Back up the data before you perform the procedure. For instructions, see KB12487.

  1. connect the BlackBerry smartphone to PC computer.
  2. open start-> programs-> Accessories-> command prompt.
  3. navigate to C:\Program Files\Common search in Motion\Apploader.
  4. type loader.exe /resettofactory.

  My bb device was never locked to any network, but I am currently on the Globe Telecom in the Philippines.

  I downloaded the OS for this carrier package of

  and installed it on my pc.

  He then asked me if I wanted to run the Desktop Manager and I chose to do.

  You want to download this file:

  • File name: 8520wifijEastAsia_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL5.2.0.47_A5.0.0.509_Globe_Telecom__Inc.exe

  Make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close the office at the end Manager.

  1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.
  2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
  3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  Everything on the phone is connected to the ID Blackberry like BBM, email, App World, etc. You must load it using the Blackberry to a PC software.

On some sites like the one mobile blackberry my download speeds are 100 kb/s but on MOST it falls less than 1 KB/s.   Once again, if its only some websites that will slow down it would lead me to think its end a problem the site rather than your phone.

  If all Web sites were slow, it would be referring to your phone or your carrier.

• Does not start blackBerry Smartphone App World on Curve 9300

  I received a notification that Blackberry World 4.3.0.32 was available on 21 May.  Has launched the process of update, but was informed that I didn't have enough memory available to move forward.  Cleaned space and tried again... without success.  Now world BB does not start (no error message just remains to the home screen).

  I reinstalled via 'http://ca.blackberry.com/apps/blackberry-world/download.html'.  Everything was going well an installation process, but it does not solve the problem.

  O/s version 6.0 Bundle 2647

  Current installed App World - 4.3.0.26

  I did the usual, including the "pop drums" restarts, but to no avail.

  I would suggest to create a backup of your data through BlackBerry Desktop Software (device > backup).  When finished, and then follow the steps in this Article: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB14058 and test BlackBerry World before you restore all the data.

  I had 2 blackberries, both were recorded on my blackberry desktop and saved. I lost one of them. I am now trying to transfer the data to the phone lost on the second phone, but I can't access the data that the desktop software asks me to connect the lost phone to access.

  How can I access data on the lost phone when I can't connect the handset to access and upload it on my second phone?

  With the new trendy device, launch the desktop software.

  Choose device > restore.

  You can find the specific backup you with restore and can choose specific or restore all 'Select Data' to restore.

  Help! All had this problem, in which they receive constant emails from blackberry.net > RIM_bca28a80-e9c0 - 11 d 1-87fe-00600811c6a2

  I've only had the curve 8330 (verizon) less than a month and receive 20-30 emails on my curve and my desktop computer. I called Verizon once, not very useful... does anyone have any input on that?  Thank you
