• BlackBerry Smartphones AOL desktop does not remove messages from my 8330

  I signed up for AOL mail through my BB. It works fine, except for control messages. I can read and clear messages on the desktop of my BB, but if I read or delete messages on the desktop, it is not updated the BB.

  Is there a a way to get around using enhanced Gmail plugin? LIKE POP or IMAP old simply? the plugin Enhanced kills my battery time is running all the time. I like the feature, but it makes the battery life a little drain... Yes much pun intended.

  I think the fact that your device is roaming a large part of the day could be a big part of the problem.

  Anyway, if you want to remove the enhanced gmail plug-in, and you're a little grumpy, follow these steps:

  1. first of all, use Desktop Manager to backup your device.

  2. make sure that the OS version installed on your BlackBerry is also installed on your PC.

  4. plug your BlackBerry and click twice on "Loader.exe." It is located in c:\Program Files\Common Research In Motion\apploader

  5 follow the prompts and App Loader should tell you that it is to detach a file as you go along.

  Be patient, the application loader will do its job and and the device will restart.

  Thanks for your help - the problem has now been fixed.

  I think the problem has to do with DNS records that I did a Checkup and Diagnostics said that the Reverse DNS was not correctly install, and after some research, I've added a PTR to the mail server.

  p. ex. x.x.x > mail.x.net

  mail.x.NET > x.x.x

  When I sent a message to my desktop client to another e-mail address, he said that my email has been updated with the index etc. As the spam filters recognize not (very probably) where my mail came, and this is probably the question with setting up email to work with the BlackBerry!

  Everything works now, probably a problem common among others - thanks for your help, much appreciated.

  I had this problem with my previous BB and thought that the software crashed.  Upgrade to a 790 "BOLD" I always have this problem.  I talked to tech support, they say that everything is ok on their side.  I took my phone, the tech at the MTN shop checked, corrected my center number.

  Still NOTHING.  I can send text messages and emails, but cannot receive any.  Those who sent me mails or messages says their phones shows it was delivered.

  Hi, I have two e-mail accounts and for once they both worked very well. Recently, I changed the provider for one of them, and therefore I was not able to receive messages for it. I can send without any problem. I contacted fido as well as my e-mail host and the two went as far as possible, they say it's a rim problem now.

  I returned my service books several times my phone and my desktop computer. I have reset my phone several times. I deleted and then added my account several times my phone and my computer. Anyone have any ideas?

  So, I finally this issue is resolved. After 2 calls to fido without success, the second time, they said to call the rim. I called and was told that the technical support is paid. AAARGH. They also said that it was innapropriate for fido have ordered to call me when they have an internal escalation process that would have taken me RIM without cost to me. They offered to contact fido themselves and have someone to work with me. Thanks to the rim (which did not charge me!) Finally, I was put in touch with someone from tech who was willing to work with me and solve this problem once and for all. You know that you have a decent and knowledgeable person on the other end of the line when they ask you what you have already tried instead to go through all the process by heart. Very quickly, it determined that he had a fatal error in the coding of the fido the outgoing server. It has closed and reopened my account and in 15 minutes, I had all this work. Five days to run between three different organizations and in a few minutes work has been set. It shows you just that the real problem is to happen to someone who knows what they are doing.   I have put up with this problem for quite a while and starts to get really frustrated with it.  There are several topics that describe the 'why' is happening on other Blackberry (Storm 9530) devices but not how to fix it.  At least not how to solve this problem on a 8220.  They all mention the same symptoms, I'm having and related countdown of the number of "negative" (which does make any sense to me).  It was mentioned that the 744 hours is a turning point, and I agree.  I think it has to do with the idea that the timer was not supposed to go to more than 1 month/31 days/744 hours.

  Currently, my timer shows 00:00:00 if I reset, but if I hit the start, he goes to 743:59:59 and countdown starts.  If I try all 1 minute and 5 minutes or whatever it is I have the patience to test, again, it will count down to 0, and then roll immediately to 743:59:59.  If I add 99:00:00, it shows that on the countdown screen, and then if I try to change the time again he auto-remplit with 03:00 (it will still use the rest of I put in next so divided by 24 hours).  Another example, if I put 24:00:00, it will add 24 hours to the existing number (in hundreds) and the field will fill with all zeros again.  I can only reduce the time shown on the clock having a rest and then reset to 0.  Essentially, I can always get to show a multiple of 24 hours, but I'm just trying to set reminders of the laundry, etc...  It's ridiculous!

  I am a windows user and I write little programs in windows using the language of batch processing. So I have a lot of work to do and set up different programs. But I am unable to set the attribute for a file that is accessible or executable but not removable. I mean I have a program and I want to set the attribute for this program unalterable, not removable. I've tried to set attribute with-s option as the attribute value of a file system and warns the user when deleting. But after you click Yes, the file is gone.

  Yes - I have BES.  Interesting however.  One of my users can reject his reminders on the BB and it always reminds him in Outlook.  I wonder about that is a new user... So I guess I'll have to test it and see if it rejects the reminder... If it always happens in its Outlook.

• BlackBerry 8830 smartphones & Desktop Manager does not recognize Outlook Express 2000, cannot sync

  I just installed Desktop Manager 5.0 and connected to my BB 8830.  I use Outlook Express 2000 for the calendar and I want to sync it with my BB 8330.  However, in Desktop Manager under Sync / Config / select the device for the calendar, the only choices are Yahoo and text import/export.  Of course, it does not recognize Outlook Express 2000 as a calendar program.  Does anyone have a solution?

  I bought this 8830 mainly to sync its calendar with my Outlook Express calendar.  If this does not work, then I'll go back to my cell phone operator.

  I installed Desktop Manager 4.1 and it works now.  Be aware with this version, once you connect your BB to your computer, unless you go through the Wizard Windows Found New Hardware, Desktop Manager does not recognize the connection with your BB and your computer (I don't have to do with version 5.0).

  RIM should be more attentive to people with a recent phone, but still using an earlier version of Microsoft Outlook / office.

  I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

  (1) registry HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
  • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

  (2) remove and return Service directories

  • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
  • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
