  Several months ago, I saw a thread about it and one user has successfully upgraded its Qosmio with Blu - ray player. Perhaps is the same player that is compatible with your laptop.

  Windows 7 does not natively read Blu - Ray discs of movies/TV - support you need to use the 3rd party software/codecs. Your PC manufacturer may have delivered a program on your PC, like PowerDVD from Cyberlink, so check. If this isn't the case, you need to buy or download something like the free VLC media player.

  Tried to install a Blu - Ray Pioneer BDC-202 BK player in the PC above, plug it into one of the SATA sockets on the motherboard (marked HDD_1 through HDD_4). I plugged the drive to each of these shots and allowed all SATA drives in BIOS and the player is not detected in BIOS or in Windows. I have also tried to change the shape of controller SATA AHCI to ATA.

  There is power to it (can open the drive Bay) and the LED lights during startup. I also noticed that the startup initialization part takes an age, most Windows crashes on loading in place (but eventully appears and works very well. All works ok once the player is disconnected.

  The player does not appear in Device Manager.

  My feeling is that the player is defective I tried to use connect it via a SATA/USB converter without success.

  This is the first time I tried to install a SATA device so my other thought is miss me an obvious step.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Here are the dimensions of the player, 128 (W) x 12.7 (H) x 127 mm (D). The thickness is what may change, but something after 2008 will be 12.7 mm thick. Remove your old drive and I can somewhat guarantee that these dimensions will be the same. The depth is measured with on the cover.

  I also did some checking autour and some new very can be even thinner at 9.5 mm thick, check yours and compare with what you're going to buy, but your probably going to be 12.7 mm thick. (thickness is measured at its share of thickness)

  It shows that a DVD burner is standard. These devices cannot read Blu - Ray discs.

  You need a Blu - Ray optical drive to do this.

  These articles should show you the 'How to' for the installation of your Blu - ray player.  Here are the specifications of the motherboard.  You will need a sata data cable besides the Blu - ray optical drive.  If you look closely inside the close the optical drive existing, you should find a replacement power supply connector.  If you look at the layout of motherboard black and white picture you will find the sata ports on the lower right. Select a free sata port for your new sata optical drive Blu - ray connection.

• How to burn a Blu - ray export Blu - ray to hard drive?

  I have about a two-hour project that is 21 GB as a blu - ray export drive to the hard drive (I chose not to export to my burner blu - ray, thinking that it would be faster and the desire to burn it later if I wanted to). Now, I have the 21 GB exported to a file .img file, but I have no idea how burn it. Compressor does not open the file and no "burn" which does no DVDs anyway. Just to clarify, then export the project on Blu - ray, I chose HDD as my output over my blu - ray burner, who was also an option.  Any help would save me probably 6 hours or re-export and would be greatly appreciated!   If you are using El Capitan: control - click on the image file in the Finder, choose burn.

  For previous versions of OS, open with disk utility and click on the burn button.

  I have a Toshiba Satellite P855 - 33 X. Whenever I try to play a disc Blu - ray (2d or 3d) on the Toshiba Blu - ray disc player, I never spent the first menu (main menu according to disk or the language selection). I'm unable to click on the menu or use the keyboard to select the options in the menu, the bluray is unresponsive.

  It has worked well in the past so I wonder if there was a recent update that could have made this a problem?

  You will find on the page of the Toshiba UE driver all tools Toshiba drivers and utilities to win 8.1.
  Usually after the Win 8.1 update, the software should be updated as well.

  I have a B540P idea Center AIO. Blu ray internal driver icon is missing. There is still be able to go to the drive as it lights up when you press the eject button but when I put a disk nothing happens.
