Blue screen on day 2

I just bought a HP Pavilion g6 Windows 8.  Everything is ok the day 1.  Had all set up.  Installed antivirus (Norton) and 2013 Office to use.  The files transferred from old laptop again support pen drive - word documents, photos, multimedia files, etc.  Used internet, then stop the machine.  It was used for about 5 hours. No problems.

Day 2 - on the machine so that I can complete the transfer of documents.  I received a message from Windows Update and that the machine has been updated, and not to turn it off.  26% after he told me that he was trying to repair Windows.  Then he said that he could not and he went to the terrible blue screen, send me options.

I decided to try a system restore, because I only just got the machine and I really didn't want to lose what I already had.  But now he is stuck on "finalize file restore".

With gratitude any help appreciated!

Thank you! I come back now my laptop two days at the store and bought another, fingers crossed this time. Certainly not right. Disappointing for something so new, but that's life!

    Hello

Firstly it is difficult to say why you're getting a blue screen every day. In most cases these bluescreens correspond to the drivers or hardware.
If you have updated some drivers and what programs you have exactly? Maybe one of these cause this problem

In addition, it would be interesting to know what BSOD stop code you get exactly, for example 0 x 000000123.
For most of the stop codes, you can find help on Microsoft Knowledge Base.

  • blue screen BAD_HEADER_POOL 0 x 00000019 (0x00000020, 0xe3498230, 0xe3498268, 0x0c070420)

We started to have this blue screen with these error codes, can anyone help us with that?  We had a power surge, a loss of power, and the next blue screen this day began to appear.  Anyone got any ideas?

If you had a power failure while XP worked and now, your system is bad, the first thing you should do is run a chkdsk with error correction.  These events can cause corruption in the file system then it would be the first thing to do.  Here's a way to do it:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315265

If it were me, I would run the chkdsk since the XP Recovery Console so I could watch it run...

As the forums MS Answers does not prompt for any information system when a new question is asked, we don't know anything about your system.  Unless you want ideas for things to try (as opposed to things to do), please tell us more about your system:

Provide information on your system, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Your system have IDE or SATA disks?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

After running chkdsk with error correction (and clean), if you are still having the BSOD, follow these steps:

The next time your system crashes, provide more information on what you see.
Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:
Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).
Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters.
If there is a name of the file listed in the STOP message, don't forget to include this information too.
Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you.  We know what a BSOD looks like, we need to know what your BSOD looks like.

    Download BlueScreenView here:

Unzip it and run it (BSV installs nothing) and let him complete the digitization of all your crash dump files.
If you double-click on depressed, you will get information on it (including the field caused by the driver) and you should be able to spot the problem right away - especially if you see a model in landfills where Caused by field pilot is the same (beginning with this driver).
BlueScreenView tries to find the right driver or module that caused the blue screen by looking inside the stack of the accident. However, be aware that the driver detection mechanism is not 100% reliable, and you should also look in the lower pane, that display all drivers/modules found in the stack.
Select (highlight) one or more of the most recent dump files by clicking on them and hold down the CTRL key to select multiple files.  Try to select only the most recent links that relate to your problem (perhaps five or six to start dump files).
Click on file, save selected items and save information from the dumps to a text file on your desktop called BSOD.txt. Open BSOD.txt with a text editor, copy the text and paste it in your next reply.
Here's an example of report ASB to a single BSOD I initiated on purpose that indicates the cause of the accident as the pilot i8042prt.sys belonging to Microsoft Corporation:

    Hello

I certainly don't suggest that you download or use ReImage Repair which is a
too much hype Registry Cleaner which sets little and actually cause problems. Think that
    of it as snake oil.

Use the methods in the troubleshooters above and we can analyze the minidumps
    that could help.

We can analyze the minidumps if make you it available to the SkyDrive or
other sites to share files (such as MediaFire). If you have problems downloading the
Minidumps copy them on the desktop or the Documents folder and download
    starting from there.

ZIP or download the content of the C:\Windows\minidump

Use SkyDrive download collected files and after shot/screenshot.

I'm not a computer expert, so please exscuse me, 3 days ago, the computer kept freezing, I am running a packard bell intel celeron with windows vista, I have norton anti virus so I don't think my problem is the apparent virus, first Frost was intermittent but after an hour or two , all froze and wouldn't respond, I disconnected the power and he started upward, repair of windows says something along the lines of stacking and told me I had to check my drivers, I rebooted and was able to get back on but after a few minutes it kept freezing up again I went through the process and finally managed to put online, a message popped up on my screen telling me to update vista to service pack 2, I did, the computer seems to work very well so I thought that the problem has been resolved, yesterday when I turned on the same thing happened, yet once I went through the process and finally got the computer to work after several attempts , it would start up then restart itself or sometimes the screen would be just black and nothing would happen, the computer would be buzz but anything in life. yesterday after finally getting to turn on another message came up saying there are 31 important updates for vista, I downloaded once again of course it seremed work very well and I thought it was fixed, but unfortunately not yet today the same thing happens when I arrived to start the computer I decided to write the blue screen messages that include

    0x0000007E (0xc0000005 0x806a0c04 0x803995ec 0x803992e8) acpi.sys - address 806A0C04 base at 80 68 B000
After that a long stay him to start it in safe mode, which took 2 hours is the same in safe mode, just frozen, I tried again and got to work in safe mode and it froze again and finally I managed to get to the top and works normally, I really have no idea what is wrong or how to fix it I managed to save important things like the photos that I have the impression that he wants to die, I even tried the system restore which is nothing because when it updated 2 days ago, it wipe all old restore points and so I absoloutley no way to restore to a point before he decides to drop , I have not downloaded new software in the last months have so no idea what could the cause of the problem, please help, and remember that while I can work around the basics I'm not an expert so please try to keep it simple :)

    1. normally, when an error occurs on your computer looking in Event Viewer should be your starting point to find a solution. More related system errors are recorded and get an exact copy of the relevant report is important. Unfortunately, is not easy to understand reports and most of the users computer need help with their interpretation. I have to say later interpretation.

2 Event Viewer includes three main newspapers of Windows. Here's the Application, security, and system. For purposes of troubleshooting system is by far the most important.

    3. to access the system log, select Start, Control Panel, administrative tools, Event Viewer, in the list on the left of the window select Windows and the system logs. Place the cursor on the system, right click and select filter current log. Check the front of the error and click OK and see you only reports errors. Click the Date and time column header to sort. You may need to click a second time to see the last report above.

    4. a tip for posting copies of error reports! Run Event Viewer and double-click the error you want to copy. Select the Details tab and check the box in front of the XML view. Click the copy button to place a copy in the Clipboard and close Event Viewer. Now start your message and paste it into the body of the message. Make sure that it is the first dough right out of the event viewer.

    6. all reports have stamps date and hour and when troubleshooting, it is important to focus on the latest reports. Reports of studies from the point when the computer is started, and then check if a similar report appeared in the previous session. If errors do not repeat investigation as to why they happen is wasted effort.

    Hello

Use methods such as the SFC, CheckDisk, driver updates, and others in the resolution of the issues identified
at this link as they will help solve or at least narrow down the questions. After that you can post the
information of BlueScreenView and these other utilities, so we can offer more specific advice. Of
check with a real store of the computer or the system manufacturer's support would be a good idea though
I would try the possible solutions, you can first.

Check this thread for more information using BlueScreenView, MyEventViewer and other methods
to troubleshoot the BlueScreens - top 4 answers. Don't forget to check FaultWire links for those
Bug_Checks as their recommendations are usually very good.

You can use BlueScreenView to stick the BSOD info in a message here.

NOTICE - report HTML all THE ELEMENTS or right-click on a BSOD line and select the same. Then, copy and
Paste the lines in a message here. Make sure and check the file name section. Also check the time
in MyEventViewer for more information as possible.

Check out these utilities to see if information may be collected:

It is an excellent tool for displaying the blue screen error information

-Free - BlueScreenView scans all your minidump files created during "blue screen of death," collisions
and displays information about all accidents of a table.

    -------------

MyEventViewer can be verified at the time of the blue screen (BSOD) within a second or so of the
time of the BSOD to provide more information about the possible cause - see TIP.

MyEventViewer - free - a simple alternative in the standard Windows Event Viewer.
TIP - Options - Advanced filter allows you to see a period of time instead of the whole of the record-
Set it for a bit before and after the time of the BSOD.

    ------------

AppCrashView - free - a small utility for Windows Vista and Windows 7 that displays the details of all the
application goes down has occurred in your system. The information breaks down is extracted from the .wer
the files created by the Windows Error Reporting (WER) of the operating system component of each
time that an accident has occurred. AppCrashView also allows you to easily record the list of accidents to
    text/html/csv/xml file.

    I hope this helps.

  • My computer freezes and gets the blue screen at least three times a day. I cannot understand why, and I'm frustrated. Help, please!

My computer makes sure to plant three to five times a day. It always ends with the blue screen of death and strong buzz. I think it's perhaps because of Spotify, but I've updated, reloaded and all and yet the program itself and my computer still seems to hang. I really don't think that it is good for my computer hangs at 3 times a day. I've had this computer for about 2 months and it is brand new. (Windows 7, I use Google Chrome, it's an Acer 5250-639. I'm frustrated and would be really grateful for the help!

    That's a lot of dump files :)

Bug WORKER_THREAD_RETURNED_AT_BAD_IRQL control has a value of 0x000000E1. This indicates that a thread of work completed and returned with IRQL > = DISPATCH_LEVEL.

Had suddenly look and according to the atikmpag.sys whocrashed pilot next is the cause of the crash. It's your ATI graphics card driver. You must go to www.ati.com then goto support and drivers and download it from there.

Although it suggests, it's the driver causing the problem it may not be the problem. However, it is a good place to start.

I've had so many blue screens its boring

I really need your help, thank you

    Hi TeeShirtArtist,

I saw your post on the BSOD and I'll be happy to help you. With the error you found it is usually connected to a corruption of driver any. There are two things that you can take a look. First, go to your device manager and uninstall a device at a time and restart your computer, and which causes Windows to check for an update and install it. Do this for all devices in the Device Manager.

The other method is installed the drivers from HP web page. I have the link below. Again, I recommend to make a time to see if you still get the BSOD.

    Hello

Try to reinstall a graphics driver, if it does not. You can download from nvidia.com, but you use it at your own risk. I haven't installed a month ago since this time no BSOD, freezing, crashing...
