Blurry PDF files

I just bought a new Mac and all of a sudden my PDF files in Acrobat X blurred. Is there a way to fix the problem?

What is your screen?

I'm on Windows, but I remember reading that the new "high-resolution" retina display causes problems with older programs

  • 'place' blurry images Photoshop Illustrator - at check in .pdf file?

I edited some images in Photoshop for use in a .pdf file I created in Illustrator.

In PS, images was beautiful and have been registered with the following parameters: .jpg/CMYK/Image Options: 10/Maximum. I have "placed" in the Illustrator file, everything was always wonderful, but I exported all of the .pdf file, the pictures came out blurry.

The resolution is 300 dpi for images of three, all pixels of 170 x 100, which is also the size, they are used to in Illustrator.

I note also that during the "placement" images in Illustrator, regardless of the type of file, the images are invariably much smaller that originally saved as. It's never happened before.

Any ideas on how to have clean images, in the PDF?

Things, I tried with no sign of improvement:

Standard, high quality print and print quality save settings

Save images as .jpg, .tiff, .psd in Photoshop to place in Illustrator

'Link' and no 'link' when you place it in Illustrator

Save images 2 x and 3 x the size in Photoshop to reduce in Illustrator

And a cap perforated how I'm viewing the PDF with the images at 100% in Acrobat:

    Screen shot 2012-09-29 at 5.17.09 PM.png

The quality is affected by their scaling upwards - at least if that's what you were doing with the placed files.

170px wide at 300 dpi works be 0,5667 inches wide. Did you leave them this size or you increase their width/height?

If you resize them, what size do you want in the publication? Let's say that you want them to be 2 "wide. 2 inches x 300 DPI is 600px wide at 300 dpi.

    Take care, Mike

Edit to add * using my desired example 2 "width, if we place a 170px 300 dpi image, enlarged width 2", the effective DPI is approximately 83 dpi.

  • I try to read the pdf files that have been sent by email to me. They include the genealogy tables, but are too blurry for me to read. How can I fix them?

I use Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, but I feel that these files have been created on a much older Abobe program. Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

Oh, let me see if I can include a screenshot of my problem.

PDF files don't deteriorate on their own (unlike JPEG files, for example). If they were clearly before and now no are not then something changed in the display settings to make (under Edit - Preferences - Page Display), or they have been published by someone.

  • When you use one of the themes Aero Windows 7 (x 32), PDF files appear semi-transparent.

I can't read PDF files in my Firefox browser more. It seems that if they are semi-transparent: the fonts are blurry, and they have the same color as my theme Aero frame. I can see my photo office by police. When I save the PDF, and then open them offline, they are displayed as they should. The prints also appear normal. BTW, when I change to a classic theme, PDFs appear normal.

  • I just upgraded to Acrobat Reader DC and I am unable to take a snapshot of a PDF and paste it on another PDF file

I just upgraded to Acrobat Reader DC and I am unable to take a snapshot of a PDF and paste it on another PDF file, I have to paste in word and then to the PDF, it becomes blurry this way and also has a lot of text in blue instead of black in the picture.  Is there a way I can copy a PDF file and paste it on another PDF file?

Or is there a way of reversing this adobe to the previous version?

The files are not locked or the other and I tried the guide help without success.

    Hi olir74691516,

Everything sticking the snapshot of one PDF on the other we add a layer to the PDF document that you paste the snapshot. You cannot copy & paste in the player of free application, you will need Acrobat application for her.

    Kind regards

  • Improvement of the quality of the shots taken from a PDF file and inserted in Indesign

I took a snapshot of a page on a PDF document. The PDF file has been created as a 'press '.  When I stuck in Indesign, the image is blurry.   I went to Adobe reader to change the settings in preferences > General to obtain the highest possible pixels (720 per inch) but it made no difference. When I pasted the snapshot in Indesign, it was very blurry.  It seems that Indesign did something for the image to make it fuzzy. Does anyone know how to fix this please?

    Hello

You should not need to take a snapshot of the PDF file - it can be placed in indesign using the file > Place. If it's a multiple page PDF, hold the SHIFT key when you click on the spot and the import dialog appears. You can choose the page that you need and once the PDF file is placed you can crop or resize accordingly.

Please keep in mind that Indesign shows a proxy for placed images low resolution. You can see a preview of resolution higher by changing your display settings to high quality screen.

    Kind regards

  • How to create small PDF files with images of reasonable quality?

    Help me Obiwan Adobe!

There seems to be several utilities on the web that claim to do this, but I thought I ask first of all experts. There must be some sort of step by step technical describes a place that allows you to create PDF files that have reasonable quality but which do not come with such extreme weight they can not be sent by e-mail.

I saw suggestions ranging from using the footprint of the PDF in InDesign feature (sometimes it works, sometimes not), export from InDesign with the preset PDF/X1a (used to work ok, but now seems not chewable files down, as they used to) to adjust preferences for a lower screen resolution - not in export or save as dialog box - then saving it under a reduced size. I tried almost all the techniques I've seen but in vain.

So I guess there is something that I am missing. Building a file InDesign you want to compress severely, is best to use JPEG files or other PDF files or something else for placed images?

I know it's asking a lot and clearly native features of Acrobat are not much help, but I have several uses for this. I do a lot of book design and prefer to send drafts for customers who are at least pretty good for them to watch without blurry images. I would also like to set up a portfolio PDF that does not require the sending by FTP. In fact most of the places that ask for my PDF portfolio want less than 1.5 MB. It seems impossible.

So there you go. Somebody needs to write a book. In fact, if I get a good orientation, maybe I'll do it.

    Thank you

. Jpg can be a possible reason for blurred images. JPEG files are not generally recommended for use with PDF files, although many people use. Usually, TIF or PNG are recommended for bitmaps with PDF files.

  • ?  Print a PDF file to Adobe PDF messes up everything

Here are three questions that can be related to each other.  I wanted to ask them for a long time but kept in the hope that they would somehow be solved.  Any advice would be appreciated.

1 when I print a PDF file in Adobe PDF format as an image, the color black (even fonts) becomes grey and blurry.  The choice to print as image made in the press (in PDF) - Advanced Configuration of printing - Custom Settings / print as Image (600 dpi resolution, which is the highest available choice).  Regardless of what settings I choose in the press - properties (Standard, high quality printing, etc.).

    2. run OCR on occasion done something similar.  Letters become fuzzy and gray.  Everything is more difficult to read after OCR. It's as if Adobe chose to substitute the font or color to something blur.  It's strange.

    3. sometimes OCR makes it worse.  The quality deteriorates.  In this case, I wonder if the quality should really improve rather than stay as it is.  If a letter is recognized despite the fact that his image isn't perfect, shouldn't it be supplanted in the document by a perfectly solid letter without defects by using one of the common Adobe fonts?  A real police should be used instead of an image of the letter which has been recognized in the OCR?

Are my settings wrong, or I'm doing something wrong?  I use Adobe Acrobat X Pro.

    Thanks in advance.

Then, you have not used ClearScan and searchable Image. Indexable image makes the OCR text behind the image so that the two are related in a way. When you print, what is shown is usually what you would get (just a picture). It is unclear why you want to reprint the PDF document in this case--essentially a noone scenario never envisaged.

  • Need to navigate to a pdf file, view/print it.

In accordance with the subject line, I browse a folder, open a pdf file, view it (no need to edit) and then print it on a wifi printer. If I need a 3rd party app to do this, then please suggest a slight.

    Thank you very much.

    Look at Acrobat Reader.

  • Safari 10 not not automatically opening PDF files

Yes, I have the box checked in the preferences to automatically open reliable files after downloading. I have tried many different websites PDF files now, and none of them does not open automatically.

I tried to delete the preferences of Safari, but that did not help.

Does anyone else have this problem?

For security reasons, I don't have Safari 10: preferences: general Panel: Open Safe files after downloading verified. It has nothing to do with the opening of PDF documents in the browser, as it is the function of the OS X Internet plugin default to this end, or the option in Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF plug-in.

Plug-in Adobe Reader is disabled by default in the 10 Safari: preferences: Security Panel: Internet Plug-ins. You will need to activate it via the plugin settings - if you use it, but with a WARNING WARNING like Safari 10 notes that there are security issues that you can, or perhaps are not willing to accept.

With Adobe Reader Plug - in disabled Internet, 10 Safari automatically opens a PDF Web site in the browser. There are no preferences special setting to enable this default behavior.

  • Synchronization of notes on a PDF file between devices

Hello world! I have a lot of .pdf files on my iCloud account. Some are books and some academic articles. On both I underscore, take notes, mark of things I need to remember, delete the other parties and so on. I am looking for a solution that will allow me to study these files on a device (i.e. my iPad), and that, later in the day, find the same file (with all the notes I made on my iPad) on my mac. Basically I want the files to be synchronized on all my camera. I tried iBooks from apple, but I can't always do what I need, sometimes I can not stress even at all. He loves pdf expert, but when I transfer files from my mac to my iPad via iTunes file transfer I don't know how to put on my mac once I studied them. I love pdf Mendely manager but when it come to synchronization, with only 10 GB of pdf files, it becomes quite expensive (€15 per month). Since I bought storage iCloud is a solution involving such that I bought extra space? As always, thank you for your time! Fulvio

Looks like what, from what you describe, you will need a third party application like Evernote.

  • Can I fill out a pdf file if I open it with iBook? On my iPad

Can I fill out a pdf file if I open it with iBook?

No, you can't. iBooks does not read the fields to fill in a PDF file. You need a soft like Acrobat Reader from the App Store.

When you try to install the update, we get the following message:

    • We can install is more up-to-date, even if we downloaded.

    • Sent PDF files can only be opened by mail on our iMac

    • This has also affected all PDFs, saved the e-mail to the iMac.

    • All PDFs in mail over the past four years cannot be open-ended.

    • All PDFs over the past four years, saved from mail hard disk cannot be opened by any PDF reader, including preview and Adobe Acrobat.

    Any help appreciated

    Anthony

Try to install the update mode without failure or another account admin user. If it works, check if you still have the PDF problem. If so, try what is displayed below links Safe Mode.

    Safe mode - subject

    Safe mode - Yosemite

Make a backup using Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure that data files can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.

Try to set up another admin user account to see if the same problem persists. If back to my Mac is enabled in the system Prefeences, the guest account will not work. The intention is to see if it is specific to an account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

Isolate a problem by using a different user account

If the problem is still there, try to start safe mode using your usual account.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.

If it works in safe mode, try to run this program when it is started normally, copy and paste the result in a response. The program was created by Etresoft, a regular contributor.  Use please copy and paste the screenshots can be difficult to read. On the screen with the Options, please open Options and tick the boxes in the bottom 2 before the race. Click on the button "Report share" in the toolbar, select "Copy to Clipboard" and then paste into a response. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.
