Booking DHCP WAG120N

Hello!

I have a modem/router adsl wireless wag120n annex a. I used it for awhile. but I discovered that there not a DHCP Réservation feature. I updated its firmware 1.00.16 which is the latest version of the firmware. but I can't yet find a DHCP reservation.

It's a place that I can't find? or should I download and install a software patch or plugin to have a DHCP reservation?

Thanks in advance...

Cisco only knows. Maybe they add it. Maybe not.

• How do I book DHCP on a WN203?

I just started setting up my new WN203 to replace the part of a former ConnectionHub of Bell wireless. I got past the initial and assigned substance to a range of DHCP addresses to the new cluster of WN203, but I do not see how to associate a specific address to a particular wireless device.

In case it isn't clear, let me give the example. When an address is assigned to a camera wireless AP, let's say his 192.168.2.220, I need to always get in the future so I can map this external address. In the ConnectionHub it's simple, there are two things to do. Assign the 220 to the MAC address and then put a new entry in a table of transfer from the port to say what external address matches. I think that the AP has reserve capacity, that I have not found, but port forwarding must take place at the router level.

I didn't know how it worked, so I tried a number of things and this is what worked for me.

I let the WN203 be a ConnectionHub upstream DHCP client and it has been assigned an IP address in the pool, which subsequently, I coded as a DHCP reservation. I turned on the WN203 of the DHCP service.

When I used the WN203 network, my devices were assigned the same IP addresses by the ConnectionHub that he had used when its wireless feature worked. I was then able to use the same DHCP reservations as before which turned to simplify the whole process.

• Manuel returned to DHCP IP

I think we could have thought of it. Our booking DHCP list is now empty, and these printers may have been affected because of this intellectual property.

• Xbox 1 best settings?

Bottom front line: I'm looking for settings that offer the best online experience especially for Advanced Warfare (unique xbox of installation). That is to provide the lowest latency experience.

No I'm not having any major issue, and yes I have the latest firmware. And I have the xbox with a reserved IP (static IP) configuration. I connect via a wired connection using CAT 6 cable modem router and router to the xbox. I welcome the Moncks Corner SC ISP telecom, I have cable internet 50 Mbps down and 10Mbps up.

Things I want to discuss / ask questions on:

Question No. 1: UPnP, DMZ or Port forwarding? Can I get a NAT open with any of them, but that it will provide the lowest latency?

Question #2: Firewall, what are the best settings for xbox live? And if the DMZ is used these settings even matter?

Question #3: MTU, some argue that it makes a difference, I played with it but can't say for sure if he hit latency. It will improve the latency to change the MTU to something less than the default 1500?

Question n ° 4 (Big Question): QoS, first of all 2 in addition to the upstream. Wireless WMM, activate or say activate? Downstream, I noticed a custom rule can be configured to the MAC address of the xbox, would this help or aggravate the latency? And finally, the QoS upstream, activate of course...

Click on the list of priority rules Qos; rule configuration QoS and it shows the current rules and also allows to create. By applications default xbox are only high value while Skype and other unnecessary things for me are defined as above. I changed everything that has been defined as higher default upward except for Netgear EVA (not even sure it's does anyone know?). And I put the xbox rule at the very top. So in summary Xbox and Netgear EVA are the only two on highest everything is something more low.

So to summarize the #4 Question: I did more damage than good or is there a configuration still better for this? I noticed I can configure custom rules, and even a few rules for the LAN port or the MAC address, or people would be better options?

Question 5: I know what most QoS configuration you must put in your bandwidth and it must be something less than your real otherwise everything collapses. (I.e. I get 10 Mbps upstream, when I get my bandwidth upstream in the router, I have to put something lower than what I get actually.) Speed test vary from about 8 to 9 Mbps, so I have to put a value in the router does not exceed 8) when I click on the button to speed test it auto updates about 9,66 Mbps. but I know sometimes I get lower than my ISP especially during peak periods. So I carefully put upstream in the router to 8, anyone see a problem with this or know why this QoS system would be different from others?
Summary: Real / bandwidth upstream value set in the router.

Question #6: will turn off wireless radios improve the latency of the wired connection or stability? and if so, use a second router as access point to manage the wireless side would be a good option?

Question #7 (Last): DNS servers. I can change them on the xbox, it would make a difference for the xbox built-in;
I leave the xbox DNS automatically and I changed the DNS (8.8.8.8) google router,
rather than leave the default DNS ISP in the router and manually change them on the xbox to google DNS?

Good, so many questions, I'm not here to argue about the placeable effect and Yes, I understand that the offset cannot be completely rid of and depends on many factors. The default settings work very well, but I played Call of Duty for many years now with several Internet service providers and many different routers and configurations, I learned that tweaking a configuration just gives people with no skills (like me) a nice advantage in most of the games. And if you combine the right settings with real skill, well... You all saw that the person it is impossible to kill and you swear was hacking so report you them, but guess what they were not hacking. I know because I had a good Setup once with verizon Fios and I was accused of cheating all the time. Unfortunately I can not optical fiber internet here where I live now.

Also, with all what I've tried so far, the common Nighthawk is by far the best router that I have ever used and I've already upgraded my K/D average after owning it for only a few days.

So with Black ops 3 coming out I wanted to make sure you that I was going to get the best experience I could.

I did a lot of unique research and research made the changes and made a good restart. So far, my experience online is awesome and is like day and night compared to play war of the art. I don't know if Black Ops 3 is the only reason or not, but I will detail below what is currently working the big one for me.

On my modem (Xfinity standard modem/router with 90/15 gb plan), I've disabled the firewall completely, then set it to bridge mode. Then plugged my router. For the settings of the modem for me is 10.0.0.1 and default username and password (admin and I remember PW, but you can google if you have Comcast.)

The nighthawk.
I've updated the firmware.

Updated my timezone in the Security menu.

Changed booking DHCP to a max de.100 Beach

Xbox installation with an ip reserved (static ip) de.150 (well outside the range of the reserved IPS)

Configure the redirection of port to the Xbox with
TCP: 80
3544, 4500, 500 AND UDP: 88
Both: 53, 3074-3075-3076, 1863, 16000

I left upnp on

SIP disabled and set to open

Lit upstream qos and used the built in speed test to set the download bandwidth.
Edited all the default rules with a higher priority and replaced by a highest priority.
Past the priority of default Xbox High to high.
And set up a custom rule to my Xbox MAC address with the highest priority.

On the Xbox:
I disabled Kinect and DVR

Left to get automatically network ip settings
But manually set the dns (I use 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4)

On my TV:
Game mode on
All reductions and movement smoothing off the coast.
If you have the possibility to choose the refresh rate as close to 60 hz as possible

Good reboot after all the setting changes:
Unplug the router
Then unplug the modem
Then completely turn off Xbox (hold the power button until it turns off)
Wait a minute then turn on Xbox
After the Xbox is turned on wait at least 5 minutes before plugging modem.
Wait for a modem to fully turn on
Then connect Router and wait until it turns completely
Once the Xbox connects to the XBL go to settings network and run multiplayer test. After test bear all the triggers and bumpers until the next screen appears.

This may be unimportant, but that's what I did and touch wood, I continue to have an incredible experience I've had so far with black ops 3.

• E1200 won't save reserved IP.

Hello

I have DHCP enabled on our E1200. I had a conflict with the 192.168.1.112 used by 2 PC. I need the reserved 192.168.1.112 because it works our dashboard. I set it statically to the PC. I'm trying to reserve the IP and MAC address on the router and when I click on add added, however when I click on save, it does not record.

Thank you

The best is:

• If you set the information of static IP address on a device on the network adapter, it should be on the same network but outside the range of the DHCP server's IP address.

Ex:

Range of DHCP servers: 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.200

Any IP address between these ranges 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.99 and 192.168.1.201 - 192.168.1.254 can be assigned to network adapters.

• If you assign IP addresses via the function server DHCP of the router to 'Booking DHCP' or 'binding IP and MAC', you must leave the set DHCP client (Auto IP) of the network adapters on the computer.
• E4200: Port before releasing for WOL?

Some routers are capable of transmitting to broadcast directly by sending a port to 192.168.1.255, the other I was able to trap by transmitting to 192.168.1.254, and then editing the arp with 192.168.1.254 table <->ff: ff: ff: ff: ff: ff. Is there a way I can edit the E4200 arp table? Is there a way to telnet in or get a console connection?

I activated successfully WOL through the E4200. My guess is that it works with most of the other Linksys routers. First, however, I would ask that Cisco has just enable this through their Web UI, this clearly isn't a big deal and a simple update (modification of javascript is all it takes). Please Cisco, do right by your customers.

First, I created a port rule for port 9 UDP to *.254 forward (for most of you * will be 192.168.1).

Then, I went on the button "Booking DHCP" and filled the form to "Manually add Client." My client called "wol" (yours can be anything). My etait.254 assigned ip address and the MAC address can be anything, you can simply copy and paste a MAC address that is already on the page and change the last digit...

When you click on submit, the form is validated by Javascript; the form is not actually submitted until you press the "Save Settings" button.

Before you save the settings, I activated the plugin Firefox "Tamper Data". This allowed me to change the form POST request before you actually send to the webserver built into the router. It is a little messy, but simply replace the MAC address that is appropriate in the field of the new customer.

Presto!

It's too bad that there is a silent Javascript validation, blocking a very useful feature for this router. A feature which can clearly already handled by the firmware.

Once again, please do right by your customers, Cisco.

Enjoy,

Matt

PS - This method could have an extra step. I will try using Tamper Data for entrer.255 in port forwarding form directly when I get a chance. If someone is able to do this, let us know!

• WRT610N - Wake Up Lan

I have a question on the WRT610N router.

Is a way to wake on lan go trough my router because now it blocks the wake on lan.

I added my computer in the DMZ.

I have my computer an assigned IP address

Wake on Lan works local passing

Thanks in advance.

WOL (wake on lan) won't work on the DMZ.

You must send the number of the port on the Linksys router for the application that you use to WOL. It should be the port number 7, or else you can contact the application provider for the port number. Then connect to the router with 192.168.1.1 ip address configuration page... (assuming that the ip address of your linksys router is 192.168.1.1). Also give the address static ip to the computer.

On the Configuration tab, there is on the basic settings tab. On this page, there is a button named "DHCP Réservation". Before you click on it, make sure the radio button with the label "Enabled" (DHCP server) is checked. Click the "Booking DHCP" button and fill out the form in the pop-up window. Fill manually "add customer" (name, IP and MAC address). Click 'Add '. Choose "save settings" at the bottom of the page.

Now go to the "Application & Gaming" tab. The page on "Simple Port Forwarding". Type the number of internal 7-port external port without 7 (assuming that the port number for the application of WOL is number 7) for TCP and UDP for the IP of your machine. Check the box "enable." Choose "save settings" again.

Note: Before attempting the following steps, make sure that you can use WOL without connecting the linksys router.

This should solve the problem.

• Parental controls going nuts (EA3500)

A strange thing began to happen since December. I recently updated my iPad for children of the old 1st generation iPads for the new iPad mini. I bought an iPad air enhanced 3rd generation.

I had the previous iPad on the router under parental control with mine always set to never and iPad my children have been fixed with time restrictions. After we have upgraded to the new iPads, we stop using the 'old' and I took them out of the network. Newcomers were name Kayla iPad, iPad Keyton and mine, Ivan iPad. The new iPad on the internet via the router worked perfectly, but now the parental control widget shows just one as being connected. I went to the login page, then the page booking DHCP veriy that all iPads were there and they were with different Mac addresses and ip addresses. The only problem is that the mac address does not match the name of the iPads. All three had a name. If I put on one time restrictions, each of them became limited at the same time. I even tried to change the name of the iPad in IOS but that did not help. The ip address and MAC address are all different on the DHCP page. On the page of all the devices on the router, I only see one name under this one and iPad name there are three different IP addresses and MAC address.

I've never had this problem until I upgraded to the new iPad. It's very confusing, and I need to fix it. There, can anyone help?

Update. I have reset the router to the manufacturer setting and then started from scratch. It works now.

• WRT320N - loss of internet connection after redirect port 80 and 443

Hello

I have a problem with my new WRT320N. When I activate the port forwarding on my local server (ports 80 and 443), after a while I completely lose internet connection on all my computers connected to the router (wifi and lan computers). The router itself can ping and trace any Internet site through diagnostics to Web administration. When I turn off and click on save changes button, my internet connection works immediately again. I have the latest firmware installed and I tried to reset the router several times and set it manually since the beginning.

My previously detained WRP400 has been configured to redirect these exactly the same ports and everything worked perfectly. Could someone advise me where could be a mistake? Thank you.

I solved it. There was a problem with the combination of the service 'DHCP Reservation"of the router and client DHCP of Ubuntu. I disabled "Booking DHCP" and set the IP settings manually in the Ubuntu computer and now it works perfectly

• XBox 2 s = connection problems

Hey everybody,

There are 2 XBox in the House and 1 is downstairs, plugged into the router WRT320N. The XBox on the floor is running through the router. Each of the XBox works very well to play a Modern Warfare 3, when one is read, but if both of us are playing, the wired connection works fine, while the wireless is really slow and laggy. Again, the XBox Wireless works very well as long as the wired XBox is not also play MW3.

Any suggestions to fix this?

Thank you

LDX

In fact, should not be unpleasant, but we do not have a good connection on the two XBox now and both play MW3, on the same server, on the same team, both with a moderate NAT.

Here's what worked:

Ports triggered/transferred: 53, 80, 88, 3074, 27014-27050, 10280-10284 (essential SPI on)

Booking DHCP (static IP) for the XBox Wireless: 192.168.1.5 (everything else is automatically assigned by DHCP)

DMZ: Source: No - Destination: 192.168.1.5

Security: Disable the Internet NAT Redirection

Success

And a big thank you for their help to death!

• Definition of Restrictions WRT54GSV4 & static IP setting for only 1 computer

Hi all

My 1st post here so please bear with me.

OBJECTIVE:

I have above router and I want to limit 1 computer to access internet from 22:30 to 15:00 the next day.

-How to set the restriction policies?

I tried to do 2 policies

a. 22:30 to 12: 00 am (I cannot do)

b. 12: 00 to 15:00 (allow me)

-Also when setting restrictions, it asks me to fill my MAC and IP address for the computer. It works for b. political, but whenever the user restarts his computer, IP changes and restriction does not apply to his computer.

Is it possible that I can give it an IP address that does not change

or

can I put restriction to only its MAC address?

Thanks in advance and to let you know, I'm very very confused on these issues and IP addresses.

You can block only from 22:30 to 23:55 and from 12:00 to 15:00.

What message do you have exactly asking you 'to' "filling the MAC address and IP?

What firmware version do you run on your router?

If your firmware has a function call "Booking DHCP" then you can always assign the same IP address to a computer via DHCP. Otherwise, you need to configure a static IP address on the computer.

Of course, if you want to use to block the internet access of a teenager he won't help you much. A static IP address is easily changed. Even a MAC address can be changed quickly.

• My DLNA compatible TV takes a long time to detect the DLNA server on Windows 7 computer laptop via wifi

I have a Panasonic plasma tv and a laptop running Windows 7 x 64. I had no problem with the TV detect my laptop and watch movies via the DLNA server in wifi, aside from the videos stopping frequently, loss of the connection and reconnect. Thinking it was a problem with my router, I contacted the manufacturer of the router and received a replacement of the same router.

Apart from switching on the router, nothing has changed. However, when I try to go to the DLNA function on the TV, it will appear the message "DLNA server is not found. Finally, anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes later, my computer appears on its own in the list and I can continue to watch the videos as usual. The connection seems to be more stable than before because he rarely abandons the connection after the replacement of the router, but waiting for my computer appears mystified me.
Y at - it is a particular setting in my notebook or the router that should be adjusted to solve this problem? As I said before, I reflected quite well the former router settings so I'm really helpless why it takes so long.

• DHCP ISA570W booking

Hello

All SOHO routers I used were a table that shows the IP, MAC, name, etc.. In this table, I could easily put a tick in a check box in a line I would bind/reserve and intellectual property would be reserved for this specific Mac.

In ISA570W, when I need to reserve/link an IP to a MAC it asks me to fill a table in which I have to manually type in the name, IP, and Mac.

1. Is there an easier way?
2. Is there a way to make the reservation for several clients at the same time?
3. If this is the only way, I need to copy the mac address of each client somewhere and then book IPs for each of them manually? This method seems very far from user-friendly and efficient, unless there is a very logical reason I can not think.

Thank you.

Dear Taylan

Thank you to the small community of Support Business.

On these devices of series small company I see the page "Networking > DHCP reservations" in order to reserve addresses IP for specified devices, identified by their MAC addresses and unfortunately the MAC and IP addresses must be entered manually, no box as the series of SOHO.

Please let me know if there is anything I can help you and I'm sorry for the inconvinience.

The express for PPPOE in the Internet tab of configuration... Note that this is not reliable for many people. Your ISP MUST also support PPPOE.

The network tab is then configured with DHCP and NAT. the rest is pretty much automatic.
