Boring OME warning for the PERC battery learning cycle

Hello and happy new year to all

As you may be understood from my previous posts, we have a fleet of Dell servers in a Windows domain supported by v2.0.1.2222 OpenManage Essentials (OME).

Every 90 days (or almost) the PERC battery enter a learning cycle. There is a (2176 ID) event in the system event viewer from the server host which, I presume, triggers OME to create an alarm. The unit was then a warning state. After a few hours the unit goes back to normal.

I guess this is normal but I don't want email warning for something that is essentially a test. I don't want to get into the habit of ignoring warnings (lose a drive in a RAID array is also considered as a warning, which I think is rather cavalier).

What is the best practice, that I can use for these warnings?

Thanks in advance.

John

Hi and happy new year to you also.

Thanks for your post. For such events that are safe, which are essentially intended to test or are periodic and mean no harm to you, may be ignored more precisely. Do not ignore any alerts warning. Just right click on the alert and select this option to ignore the specific alert. This will help you get all the other alerts from your servers let it be normal or critical attention. It will be useful.

  • Buying an extended warranty for the sealed battery

    Hello

I bought an open box Lenovo X 1, which has 2 years on-site warranty remaining. I try now to buy a warranty for the sealed battery unit but do not know how to proceed.

I found the 04W7993 of product that sounds like the good article but don't know if it would apply to my machine.

Can anyone confirm if this product guarantee could be used to extend the warranty to my laptop? Even though it was an open box, the number of cycles was only 1 and the battery always has 100% manufacturer capacity reported by the power manager.

I tried ringing Lenovo warranty services and line sale Lenovo UK, but could not help me.

    System of 1294 standard 3 year warranty on site, here are the options available;

The problem for you can be against accidental damage coverage must be purchased for, I believe, within 90 days of the purchase of the system.  As you have purchased a system of "open box", I don't know if this is even possible, best ask the store where you bought if they had bought a demo System, it should be possible for you to buy both.

  • Unable to update firmware for the PERC 5 controller / i on PE1950

We have 6 PE1950 server with SAS PERC 5 / i integrated RAID controllers. Dell OpenManage complains about being obsolete PERC firmware. 2 servers I currently have running, firmware 5.2.1 - 0062 and 5.1.1 - 0040. I downloaded the latest version of 5.2.2 - 0072. I tried the update by the Windows package and who did not, and he complain about the OS being too recent. A server is Windows Server 2008 R2 and the other Windows Server R2 2012. So, I created a BACK USB key with Dell hard drive files and run update.bat. Who failed on both servers with the following errors:

    Firmware doesn't have flash. Stop!

Failed to update Firmware for controller 0

The process of updating of the firmware of the controller does not have!

Both servers had the exact same mistakes as described above. Ideas on how I can get the firmware update successfully? I checked the package I downloaded is for the PERC 5 / I integrated.

It's here (if that will allow me to post a link):

  • How can I stop the warning for the closure of several tabs at once to display? The relevant box in the settings is unchecked.

I continue to receive a warning when you try to close multiple tabs at once. The check box in the settings for the warning is not selected and the relevant about: config is set to false, but it still shows.

Well, it's extremely irritating. Looks like I have to downgrade my version of Firefox to avoid the consequences of this "feature". Why anyone would think that force setting warning when you can disable it with a checkbox is completely beyond me.

  • How can I restore the dialog box warning for the opening of a secure site?

I want to restore the warning box that tells me when I'm entering a secure site. Who warns when I leave a secure site works very well. I have probably not checked the field at one time or another, but I can't find how to bring it back.

Seems that the warning for these parameters dialog box has moved from tools > Options > Security

You can reset the related preferences security.warn_ on the topic: config page.

  • World for the voluntary battery replacement program

Hello. I am concerned about the voluntary battery replacement.

My laptop is: Tecra S3, manufactured at 2006-02-21 (ordered in 2006-03-14). Model number is: PTS30E-01R01CG3. I tried the software for testing, but he said that I'm not concerned. Eight days latter, I saw this new article (http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/news_article.jsp?service=EU&ID=Battery_Pack_Replac ement_09_2006 & cnt = NEWS & key = Battery_Pack_Replacemen t_09_2006 & display = T) and I definitely want to participate.

Before a few weeks, I noticed that my battery wear level is 17%, which is not normal (never checked to see what is the initial value was), because from the beginning, I used to follow the instructions for the use of battery of security!
I am from Bulgaria and I would like to know if I can replace my battery.

    Thank you.

    Hello

To my knowledge, the warranty will cover battery for one year.
In my opinion it should be no problem with the battery replacement if the warranty is valid.
In this case, contact the Toshiba service partner in your country and ask for help.

By the way: as Sam mentioned in the post above only are not all but only some notebooks between March and may was affected and there could be only one problem with the loading and unloading of procedure.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones too small for the phone battery?

    Hello! I need help.

My sister has a curve (8520). She overcharge the battery, so of course, it is inflated. We got him a new battery, which now seems to be too small for the phone. The only thing I can think is that the phone has somehow expanded, but that seems very unlikely to me. I don't understand how that would have happened?

Could someone help me on this, because I spent twice that the phone is a value, over a period of time, trying to get this fixed up for her, and I have neither the time nor the inclination to deal with service providers.

    Thanks in advance.

First of all, a swollen battery does not mean that the battery has been overloaded. It does not mean it probably needs to be replaced but I saw him slightly swollen batteries work fine.

If the new battery is 'too small', then it is likely, that you have the bad battery. The device did not inflate with battery.

  • Warning for the browsers not supported (IE6)

In a previous thread: Re: ADF 11 g: support for browser to Internet Explorer 6 Frank mentioned that there is a way to disable this warning message in the next version. This warning can be turned off in 11.1.1.0.1? In any case, I suppose that if I use only to Trinidad components, the user will not see this message?
    Thank you.

As far as I KNOW, the message cannot be disabled in the current version.
If you use trinidad components, your application will run on IE 6 and you will not see the message.

  • HP G6 series: what change the CMOS battery buy for my HP G6 Series?

I need to replace my CMOS battery. My laptop is a HP G6. When I search the product number sometimes like a G6-1b60us. One new replacement CMOS battery I see listed on eBay are for HP G6-2000. This CMOS battery works for my HP?  I see those listed that are for HP G6-1000, but they are all used. Is this the one I need to buy? Thank you very much.

    Hello

You asked for the CMOS battery. But the 601 error indicates that this is the MAIN battery that powers your machine. Now, pull, get the part # and order one for your laptop. But before that, you can test according to the following instructions.

    Windows 7:

    http://support.HP.com/au-en/document/c00821536

    Windows 8 and 8.1

    http://support.HP.com/au-en/document/c03325217

Case of failure, you need to buy the new battery.

    Kind regards.

  • Is it possible to get a backdoor without the extended battery?

My battery door became very weak and creaky because I do so many battery pulls. I have the long battery life, and it seems the only way to get a new one, is to buy another battery. My back door just stays on. Also, are there any plans on commercialization of skins for the external battery? This would make the phone feel more solid and protect the bezel of the scratches.

    Yes
