  The button uses the branch option "redirecting to page in the application. I select the same page.
  
  The problem is when I change other values in the value list always takes the first value

• When, Decode box for the format of a field (not it's value)

  I have a field in a table that is a text format (or the character format). However, it is used by user input as a field "date".
  97% of the data in this field is a date format
  2% is NA, n/a or UNK
  the remaining 1% are the Scriptures of error (i.e. 6/2010 instead of 02/06/2010)
  
  I wonder if there is a Decode statement or case when I might add when write a SQL query that allows you to convert anything that isn't a date format to Null or to another value I decide. Everything else is returned as date format.
  
  I'm trying to do the math in my SQL query that detects the difference between a real date field (date system or entry date by subtracting the "text" field containing dates).
  
  Is this possible and if so, if you please help me with how to write it.

  Hi David:

  You can do it without creating a custom function if you use a regular expression. Just test your field value against many different formats of date as you allow / expect in this area, and if none, then make null.

  Here is an example with three different date formats:

  You can see three records has met one of the three tests, so they were converted to a date using the format mask, while others were not. Two of them seem to be dates, but have been left as null, because I did not write a regular expression pattern to check for them. I hope that gives you the idea of how to proceed!

  There is a danger, and it is that someone will enter a number that meets the requirements of the model, but is still not a date valid. For example, 31-Apr-2011 or 2/29/2011. It is possible to make the regular expressions more test, but I tried to keep it simple in this example.

  I was trying to programatically check if a table is exist or not and insert the records if exist (via Java). I see a weired behaviour where when I check the metadata through my connection, I see this table_name in it (don't think there is an error in the logic), but when I try to insert a record after that, he lifts - java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist.
  
  When I manually check the DB, I see this table to table ALL_TABLES but not in TABS (not sure what is the same difference between those two, and that is the right place to check), desc < table_name > is also a failure...
  
  I'm really confused if the table is exist or not...

  the program is still listed in Add/Remove programs? If Yes, go to cnet.com and download and install revo uninstaller. It's actually better than the regular add/remove path. Revo examines the entire hard drive for that this presence of programs and removes even the registry entries.

• Check generate some Comp based on the drop-down list box and the selection list?

  I currently have a dropdown list with the three sizing options in it. Then I have two check boxes, one is ticked ideally would create the model to its normal size composition and if other is checked that it would reverse the widthxheight in the size of the composition. Then below that I have a "Generate" button, I want to be able to click and according to my selections, it creates the model.

  Looks like I need a kind of if then statement, but I'm having a hard time putting the two together. See below what I have so far.

  There may be missing parts, but I have it all working in a decibel pallate currently. I don't have functionality related to a button again.

  I implemented a component selectOneChoice for locations and a selectOneListbox for asset groups. Two display objects are based on relevant queries. When you try to choose a location, I see only the items in 25 list first in the drop-down list. It's the same thing with the Group of assets held as well. Queries provide a set of data that has more than 25 records of each of the db. Are there property that must be set for these components in JDeveloper? I use Jdev Studio ver 12.1.3.0.0. Please, share your ideas.

  25 is the size of the default range for the iterator.

  Components as selectOneChoice does not support paging so you must set this value-1 (select your iterator pageDef and replace the RangeSize property)

  We have a large partitioned table LARGE_TABLE1 (say: NUM_ROWS 5 904 977 029, size GB 326) in the Oracle 11 database.
  
  We want to add a new column NEW_COLUMN (NUMBER) and give a value of-999 to NEW_COLUMN each record in this table.
  

  ALTER TABLE LARGE_TABLE1 ADD (NEW_COLUMN NUMBER DEFAULT -999 NOT NULL);

  In Oracle 11 it would probably a second since the value of default -999 would be permanently added in metadata without updating each and every record 6 bln.
  
  Take a scenario 2 *
  
  We have another large partitioned table LARGE_TABLE2 (of similar size as LARGE_TABLE1) in the Oracle 11 database.
  
  We have an existing EXISTING_COLUMN (NUMBER) column that contains nulls 90% (90% of scores only contain null values in the field, and 10% of the scores only contain non-null values in this field)
  
  I would like to replace null values in EXISTING_COLUMN with number - 999.
  
  Update the column full Ascension not going :-) and doing so in a loop (the partition partition) would take a few days.
  
  Question:
  Do you know a way somehow write this -999 "overall" in the metadata as in scenario 1 instead of updating a null value in all the records to-999? No clever workaround solution would be appreciated...
