Create a new column that can contain NULL.
New column UPDATED with the old data
remove the old column
Rename new old column_name column

    Hello

    "The opposite": NOVALIDATE does not validate the data that is ALREADY in the table, but do not allow the insertion of a NULL value.

    Have you tried my sample code?

    CREATE TABLE MaTable (x NUMBER PRIMARY KEY, y NUMBER);

    INSERT INTO myTable VALUES (1, 123);

    INSERT INTO myTable VALUES ( 2, NULL );

    INSERT INTO myTable VALUES (3, 456);

    ALTER TABLE mytable MODIFY (y NOT NULL NOVALIDATE );

    INSERT INTO myTable VALUES (4, 678);

    INSERT INTO myTable VALUES ( 5, NULL );

    SELECT * FROM MyTable;

    '2' line was inserted with null before the creation of the NOT NULL constraint, this line remains "as what" at the end of the trial.

    '5' line trying to insert a NULL value after creating the NOT NULL constraint, which is denied.

  • What ever the data that we are loading in HFM, how to check if the data are correct or not?

    Hello!

    This is SANDEEP, I loaded data using FDM in HFM. How to check if the data is correct or not, what ever the data I was responsible in HFM.

    Please tell me how to recover the data and what format, clearly can you me the data verification process step by step.

    It would be useful for me...

    Thanks in advance...

    Kind regards

    SANDEEP

    Hi Sandeep,

    I think the best way is to extract data from HFM for the same POV that you have loaded FDM and check if it is the same.

    If you then use HFM 11.1.2.x version

    1. login to the application and go to the menu Administration / extract / data.

    2. set the POV that you have loaded the data, then unzip it. You can open the file unzipped in a notebook

    3. you can compare the file with the data file generated by FDMEE under Outbox folder.

    But what would you give all the data corresponding to the POV that you set. So please ensure that you have the correct POV, defined according to the export FDMEE.

    Thank you

    Chandra

    WWDC is the 13th week, not a single day. However, at 10:00 13 will be the speech. It's what you want to watch. You can download the application to your computer via: Developer Apple WWDC Watch - WWDC -. You can download the app for iPhone, iPad, or contact via the iTunes Store.

  • How to add constraints not null

    Data modeling Version 4.1.1.888 SQL

    How to add constraints not null in sql modeling data and rename the default constraint name that is getting generated when marking column as required.

    You can edit the template for the names of constraint not Null under properties-> setting->-> models naming standards. Change one marked 'not forced Null. Then, under preferences-> Data Modeler-> DDL, you must uncheck "generate short form constraint NOT NULL".

  • All the members (but 1) are removed from the entity dimension in planning and deployed to essbase. -What are the data deleted in essbase so? / The data can be restored by restoring the entity dimension?

    All the members (but 1) are removed from the entity dimension in planning and deployed to essbase.

    -What are the data deleted in essbase so?

    The data can be restored by restoring the entity dimension? EPMA the entity dimension is still in tact.

    It is unclear what exectly arrived, but looks like a change was made in the dimension entity planning (not EPMA) and then deployed (successfully).

    In essbase, we see that the entity dimension has only one member left for the appropriate plan types, as in the planning.

    If you remove members and then push that yes the essbase data is deleted, if you need back then you will need to go back to your restore process.

    Nobody knows, what are the data buffer size of this model?
    Is there a SW or the request to meet with whom?

    BTW, great car, fast, noise, however, extremely when it comes to finding large files.

    Thank you

    Hello

    I have lurked around a bit and it seems that your drive has buffer of 16 MB that is absolutely definitely sure. To check the details of your computer, you can use the tool "Sisoft Sandra". You can download [url href = http://www.sisoftware.net/index.html?dir=&location=downandbuy&langx=en&a=] here [/ URL].

    After download, just install it and you will get all information about your computer, as the size of the buffer of your external hard drive.

    I can query all columns with the query "select * from table".

    But I'm not able to use the query "select the table file.

    Any suggestions?

    Abdellaoui

    Hello

    FILE is a keyword from Oracle, so it's not a good name,

    Use FILEDATE, or DATE_FILED, or something else that is not in V$ RESERVED_WORDS. KEYWORD as the name column.

    If you need to use the FILE, then you must use quotation marks.

  • The use of sequence and generate the number in a table that has data

    Hello

    There is a custom table that has a column Rowid (NULL).
    This table already has 10 k with rowid as null lines, now the user asks me to enter a unique number for the Rowid.
    I created a sequence, but don't know how to use this sequence and generate numbers for the Rowid.

    Could you suggest.

    Thank you.

    "rowid" is an oracle reserved word and should be avoided. Perhaps "Rowid" between quotes or something.

    Here's how to "fill" a column by a sequence:

    SQL> create table t (id number, value varchar2(100));

    Table created.

    SQL> insert into t (value) select object_name from all_objects where rownum <= 10000;

    10000 rows created.

    SQL> create sequence idgen_sequence;

    Sequence created.

    SQL> update t set id = idgen_sequence.nextval;

    10000 rows updated.

    Given that the sequence was used all the 'id's will be unique.

  • Update on nulls in the column vs add column not null default 11 g

    Hello

    Let's take a scenario following 1. *

    We have a large partitioned table LARGE_TABLE1 (say: NUM_ROWS 5 904 977 029, size GB 326) in the Oracle 11 database.

    We want to add a new column NEW_COLUMN (NUMBER) and give a value of-999 to NEW_COLUMN each record in this table.
    ALTER TABLE LARGE_TABLE1 ADD (NEW_COLUMN NUMBER DEFAULT -999 NOT NULL);
    In Oracle 11 it would probably a second since the value of default -999 would be permanently added in metadata without updating each and every record 6 bln.

    Take a scenario 2 *

    We have another large partitioned table LARGE_TABLE2 (of similar size as LARGE_TABLE1) in the Oracle 11 database.

    We have an existing EXISTING_COLUMN (NUMBER) column that contains nulls 90% (90% of scores only contain null values in the field, and 10% of the scores only contain non-null values in this field)

    I would like to replace null values in EXISTING_COLUMN with number - 999.

    Update the column full Ascension not going :-) and doing so in a loop (the partition partition) would take a few days.

    Question:
    Do you know a way somehow write this -999 "overall" in the metadata as in scenario 1 instead of updating a null value in all the records to-999? No clever workaround solution would be appreciated...

    Edited by: SwPiotr 2012-04-24 07:26
    ALTER TABLE LARGE_TABLE1 ADD NEW_COLUMN NUMBER GENERATED ALWAYS AS nvl(col1, -999);
