Breakpoint

Hello

I don't know how to work the breakpoint.

Since the LabVIEW is all about data flow, I was wondering I able to break a middle of the block to see the last block? For example, in my VI, he had three large blocks (means the piece of code), may be able to break 2 to see the link on Block1 and block3 to block? I don't think block2 and block3 relate directly, that why I ask can I break 2

Thank you

When you place a breakpoint, the program is paused the execution of that part of the code when, due to data flow, he meets the breakpoint. If you have other sections of your code that work independently they will be not be self-balanced.

Try it and see what happens. You can place, disable or remove breakpoints at will.

If a section of code is waiting for data from the section you have a breakpoint, too, depending on how it is structured, wait when you arrive on the breakpoint.

First time I've used this excuse. Just bought my second Toshiba this time Satellite Pro A200-PSAE4E Vista Business. The volume control turns both clockwise and anti hourly without any breakpoint that it in either... just begins to turn.

Increase and decrease the volume but it is unpredicatble and the fact that there is no breakpoint on the rotation of the wheel is I wonder if there is a fault? Seems strange to me.

  • Breakpoint of position synchronization

    Hello

I run an application where I am synchronization of data acquisition with the engine query step by step using the breakpoint of my motion controller feature.  Ideally, I would like to synchronize the start of data acquisition with a known position of the engine within 1ms.

The way I currently have the updated code in place, my motor and encoder initially begin to zero steps/count indictment, then move in a negative way.  I want to start pretty close to the start of the query the DAQ (the exact time is not serious, but I need to measure accurately the corresponding position); to do this, I put my breakpoint to trigger when the encoder position is-1.  However, looking at the position of the encoder measured (using reading encoder Position.flx), it is clear that the encoder "jumps" from 0 to-10 steps as the engine passes through the first stage.  According to the angular speed of the motor, this takes ~ 5ms.

So I guess my question is, even if the breakpoint is set at-1 he will actually trigger when the encoder reads - 10 since he does not exactly 1?  Or do I somehow interpolate between the measures of 0 and -10 to estimate the moment that the rail - 1 Encoder?

I use a PXI-7354 controller and an acquisition of data PXI-6229 mounted into a chassis SMU-1062 q.  Data acquisition is connected to a module SCXI-1520 strain gauge with a SCXI-1314 mounting block (I don't think that what counts in what concerns the latency relaxation time).  My engines are set to 400 steps/rev and the corresponding encoders are 4000counts/rev; they are connected to the controller of movement through a UMI-7774.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Matt

    Greetings, Matt;

I apologize, I did some research but assumed that I must have forgotten to post it.

After discussion with someone in R & D, it seems that the breakpoint is triggered when the encoder transmits the brand-1. Now, if there is a reading when the encoder is in the - 10, he can score in the software that the engine stopped to of-10. However, because the case is done at the hardware level, the pulse will be sent exactly at what time the encoder through this point-1.

Again, I apologize for the delay and wish you a nice day.

    Best regards;

    Simon P.

  • Report generator LV2015 - set of breakpoint

I opened point to stop and to my surpise Manager, there are a set of breakpoint in the following file:

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\LabVIEW 2015\vi.lib\addons\_office\_wordsub.llb\Word_Set_Paragraph_Format (adv) .vi

I have several versions of LabVIEW on this PC. LabVIEW 2013 has also a breakpoint in this file. I'd like to see if other users have this breakpoint.

    Steve

I think it was a bug found during the beta of 2016.  I don't remember exactly how the debate went, but I don't remember anyone saying that they had seen the breakpoint reached, just as they found, and you should probably not here.

  • Is there a way to determine exactly where a breakpoint?

Hello all: I can't get my head around this problem I have, so I hope that someone here is facing something like this and has a tip for me.

I have a PXI-7354 I use for the control of gear to a rotating floor that has an encoder of lpr 8000 and a 10:1 reduction, so I 80 000 lpr effectively.

I use the 7354 to generate a pulse of breakpoint each 100 encoder account, so I should get 800 pulses per revolution.  (I use breakpoint impulses to trigger a second device and aPXIe-5122 acquisition card data to synchronize the production and acquisition of a data record.)

However, and here is the problem:

When I turn at 1 lap, I see 799 impulses

When I turn at 2 laps, I see impulses of 1598

When I turn to 3 rounds, I see impulses of 2397

    etc.

I'm losing 1 pulse per turn. I did not understand this yet, because I use the periodic breakpoints with a whole number of breakpoints as a period.

The problem is that I have to "count" the number of pulses of breakpoint I receive in order to calculate the angular position, where the breakpoint occurs.  By example, if I start at 0 degrees, and I have 0.45 degree spacing between breakpoints, after 10 pulses, I should be at 4.05 degrees.  After 100 impulses, I should be at 44.55 degrees.

As Miss an indictment by rev, however my derived angular position is incorrect.

I need a way to determine the actual each breakpoint location.  The most obvious way to do this is to use the functionality of capture of HS of the Board of Directors, and I was able to share (yet) the pulse of breakpoint at the entrance to Capture HS on motion capture HS to map, but is possible to do internally on the 7354?

Thank you to look at it, any help is appreciated.

    Wes

The problem is solved, but the solution wasn't crazy direct, so I'll write my lessons leared here:

    Short version:

I was looking for a way to make a Capture of HS at the same time that the generation of BP.  It is redundant since the ERA really only occur anywhere where tell you them to occur.

Between the development of the servo-drive and parameters of BP in MAX, we were generating less need BP pulse at the end of the movement.  Once the disk has been defined so that the excess is less than the readjusted BP 'window', the BSP has started to behave perfectly.

The disc has been adjusted so that it is just this side of "excessive".  I then called the amount of overtaking I see normally, and in the settings 'Compare and beneficiaries' MAX for my 7350, I put breakpoints Position 'Window' to a value that was comfortably longer than this overrun.

Thus, the lesson learned: make sure that the servo system is set (not only at the output stage), and the configuration of BP is appropriate to your system.

Moreover, the credit goes to Daniel to NI AE who helped me through this problem.  THANKS DANIEL!

  • breakpoint continue keyboard shortcut

I prefer turning the wire 'keep' values and hovering over the threads during debugging to see their current value (with a breakpoint somewhere), as appositive using probes.  It is because with the probe Watch window, it must constantly check / remember what values turns to the place where the block diagram, and using windows of each probe occult the block diagram.  What I'm surprised by, is that it doesn't seem to be a keyboard shortcut for the button continue (which normally is the pause button) advancing a breakpoint to the next cycle.  Such a shortcut would be really useful for the type of debugging I described, especially when I'm trying to quickly browse a few cycles to reach an interest.  Am I missing something?

    Thank you

  • With CVI2013 breakpoints work differently

In the past, I used to insert lines 'doing nothing', but which allows me to set a breakpoint. Now, with CVI2013, the following doesn't work anymore:

    on the other

    {

    ;<- putting="" a="" breakpoint="" here="" is="" useless:="" the="" breakpoint="" is="">

If clang is 'code optimization' even in debug... mode?

In addition, set or remove a breakpoint causes the file be recompiled - it slows down a lot debugging

    Hello Wolfgang,.

The compiler is 'optimization' code in configurations debug in the sense that it generates code for an empty statement (a semicolon). There is no any other kinds of optimizations. I filed the bug report # 423474 for the question, because as you point out, it can be very useful to set a breakpoint on these empty statements.

I can't reproduce your second problem. I can set and remove breakpoints during a debugging session as in CVI 2012. The file is not recompiled accordingly and the debug session is not restarted or abandoned. I'm probably missing something. Can you post instructions step by step to reproduce the problem?

(FYI: when you start to debug, CVI always checks if something in your project needs to be rebuilt and the Build output window appears.) But this does not mean that the ICB is reconstruction actually anything. It's just our way of saying "just check whether the project is always up to date. And it is. Move along. »)

    Thank you

  • Start a defined (such as a breakpoint) Point VI

    Hi people,

I have a lets say VI (computer state Q model ' ed) with a large number of user input to make. As the development goes further than I want to avoid making the user input at the front.

Now that I can do this by doing a small thing around, but my question is:

Is there a way I can set a breakpoint as a "starting point" and safe user input in this breakpoint? The behavior would be like, when I hit the button start the code runs from that point.

Thank you very much for your advice in advance

    Cheers chris

Hey u mentioned, by setting default values, is that little thing around things I defenetly will not, as I said...

IAM aware of the results of the backup "data on the wire" from a given point. Where I see no difference to put data (or the default) in the controls and run a case to handle values, instead of setting a certain point where the code execution can begin.

In conclusion, if the procedure is always the same, so the same "data on the wire" despite a competitive situation of timing, what iam struggle is not with.

Anyway, as it is not big thing to do, I guess that the script of sick a little, would probably be a nice try for a jki plugin...

    Thanks anyway

  • How to set a breakpoint in LV 2011

I was forced to move from the LV 8.5 for 2011. When I right click on a thread I don't see the command "set breakpoint" menu.

Then... How do I set a breakpoint in 2011?

    jknapp,

This selection is always there in LV 2011.  Are you sure that the VI is not setup such that you cannot debug it?

  • Boolean breakpoint

    Hello

Is it possible to automatically set a breakpoint or simply put all the VI in the State to break if a Boolean control evaluates to true. I run several steps in a while loop and I want to put right in the moment that the Boolean control evaluates to true outside of the loop (I don't want to finish the stage and finish the current iteration of the loop)

    Thank you very much

    Zied

A breakpoint will pause your VI. You can easily make a conditional breakpoint by placing a case structure and placing a breakpoint in 1 case.

  • How to set up breakpoints with a with a PCI-7344 linear position sensor

    Hello

I'm trying to implement an algorithm of scanning for a piezo Nanonics 3D scene, who should synchronize with a card counting (PCI-6602) using breakpoints on the movement card (PCI-7344). The Nanonics Stadium has two position sensors (just for x - y) gives me a linear voltage variable according to the position. Nanonics connected these sensors for the two first entries analog motion motion card connector.

Now I intend to use breakpoints to synchronize the digitization step to a card counting (probably using a RTSI cable), but I got the impression that this can be done by using the entries of each individual axis encoders, no do not using the analog inputs. Could someone comment on that? Explanations or advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you very much.

  • CVI2009 window does not come forward on the breakpoint

When I run my program, with a defined breakpoint, the program stops at the breakpoint, but the screen of the BCI does not come forward.  If I can get to the icons will stop or step and click on one, the program will be as it should.  The other important element in this puzzle, it is that there are two icons of programs in the toolbar.

Update: the problem has nothing to do with the code I sent you.  I fixed the problem of duplication of icons by unchecking the main Panel button a taskbar under the Panel change > other attributes in the file of the IUR.  In the same place, I set the ICB does not come forward by setting the floating Style '' never. ''  This seems to solve the problem.
