  I double click a first project (Windows 7) and CS5.5 trial opens the project instead of CS5.0.

  Simple, right?  Right-click on the project in Explorer and change the 'opens with' back to CS5.0.  OK, actually.  But it nevertheless opens with CS5.5 no matter what I do.  Ditto for AE5.5 too.

  Not a huge problem because I can open CS5.0 and from THERE to open what I want, but I don't always.  Any suggestions?

  In CS5, you can save a file CS5 as a CS4 file.  This will be your only optin to put a file can be used on both machines.

  You can download one of these (CS6 or same last CC) Version.

  Versions of Photoshop officially only CC and above have been tested on Windows 10. CS6 will probably also work. I can't say whether or not older than CS6 versions will work. You can install and try.

  But, don't forget to use 3D and some other intense graphics have on Photoshop (CS6, CC) you must have minimum 512 MB of dedicated on your computer with updated drivers, graphics card

  Yosemite has a history of breaking CS5 installed.
