Brightness of the LCD in the BIOS

I would like to know which of available Toshiba laptops currently would allow me to set the LCD brightness level directly in the BIOS.

Hello
I don't think this is possible, but if you are on windows, there is a way to change the default brightness. It is closely related to the "modes of energy toshiba".

    Help, please

    Thank you

    Hi sky blue,

You have an original spare part of Toshiba (display) or is it a 3rd party screen? It is important to use the Toshiba spare parts only because they are tested and designed for your Toshiba laptop. If you use 3rd party parts, they may not work.

The version of the BIOS has nothing to with the brightness of the display and the brightness of the display can be changed with the key FN + F6/F7 combination, but not in the BIOS.

    Hello

Usually, the update of the BIOS shouldn't have a bad influence on the drivers of Toshiba and the performance of the operating system.
There must be another reason the FN key down.

Initially, I would say to reinstall the common modules. Please check if this will help.

  • How to activate the LCD in Satellite C850-B374 sensor after the BIOS update?

    Hi, friends

I m currently a customer satisfied with Toshiba since April 2013. I've been using laptops since 2007 after using different brands, I found Toshiba to be good.

I recently updated the Bios from 6.0 to 6.50 of the Toshiba service station.
Update was successful and the computer works fine.

But after restarting the LCD sensor that activates the power button in this model of laptop does not work. After entering the utility parameter that I came to know that CE of bios version is 6 and bios version 6.50 so how to activate the sensor lcd start automatically while I open the lcd screen

    > How to activate the sensor lcd start automatically while I open the lcd screen

You want to start Notepad by opening the cover. Right?
In this case you should enable the option in the system of Windows 8 settings

[Why my laptop Windows 8 start automatically when you open the cover of the display? | http://APS2.Toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ2C03FA0001R01.htm]

"You need to find the option called: + open Panel - Power On" feature.
This option must be enabled in order to automatically start the computer when the display lid is opened

  • I can reduce the brightness of the screen of the BIOS?

I have HP Pavilion dv7 7003 - portable tx which has 17.3 "FHD display. I have 2 simple questions that I have not found someone asked before.

First question. I can easily adjust brightness laptop computer under Windows 7. But the BIOS screen full backlit. Normally, it is not a problem (because of the black of the screen IE "Press ESC for Boot Menu" and the Windows Logo on a black background). But when I access the BIOS Setup or upgrade of BIOS (of course), it's no doubt noticeable that this laptop backlit is complete before starting Windows. When I connect the laptop with an HDTV via HDMI, BIOS Configuration screen backlit is bearable in the screen of the TV (depending on the setting of the TV) and unbearable (IE full backlit and white background of the HP BIOS configuration) in the screen of the laptop at the same time. It is a problem of laptop screen adjustment. I want to adjust the brightness of the laptop regardless of starting Windows screen. I can reduce the brightness of the screen of the BIOS in your laptop monitor?

Second question. Can I put in screen laptop for something like "fit screen"? Currently, it is set to something like "Stretch screen. I don't like the duct Chassis Windows startup Logo. However, under Windows, I can play 4:3 resolution games in something like setting "fit screen".

    Thank you.

Not the F2 and F3 keys is not a function in the BIOS. The screen cannot be cleared up or dimmed inside the BIOS.

For the issue of screen resolution, the resolution provided for within Windows should also be the resolution on login/Welcome screen. Try to reset your resolution in Windows (without an attached external monitor), and then restart it a few times to see if the resolution sticks throughout the boot process. Let me know the results when you get a chance.

    Hello famuchic, welcome.

To develop which says Halima, if the driver update does not work, you can check with ASUS to make sure this isn't a hardware problem. There might be a problem with LCD backlighting, or maybe a bug in the BIOS. ASUS may have specific information for you and chances are that if other users have encountered problems with this series, ASUS will be able to provide you with instructions on how to solve the problem.

    Have a good one,

I think you need to install the drivers in a specific order.
Is this true? Or y at - it way round this?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    > I tried to update the bios, but it won't let me.
    > Also tried to install the common modules but get an error saying that it didn't is not supported on this hardware!

To me, it seems that you tried to install applications that are not compatible with this laptop.
Where did you get the drivers?

On the European driver of Toshiba in archive page, you can find the drivers for Satellite Pro M30

  • Can Vista on Portege A100 - I update the BIOS?

Had a go at this facility, and everything is well outside the installation of value-added package - the main thing I want to make it work is the function for the brightness of the screen keys and connect a TV.

I understand that the upgrade of the BIOS can contribute to obtaining of the installed VAP (I'm getting an ID ERR NOTINSTALLTVALZ), I know that Toshiba will not directly support the A100 for Vista, but is there a BIOS I can install that works? I think there could be a similar machine that works in Vista or maybe just a BIOS A100 that will suffice?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

May I ask where did you get the Vista Package value added for Portege A100?
I didn t find this value-added package on Toshiba Europe site.

There are only 3 files for Vista. One of the files is BIOS v1.60 - WIN, which seems to be independent of the operating system.

    With regard to the BIOS;
You should know that the update of the BIOS is always risky.
If you use the wrong version of BIOS or bad BIOS update procedure can damage the motherboard!
and as you probably know the motherboard is one of the expensive laptop parts!
It s not worth it to try something that can damage the laptop. You know

  • 5205 - update of the BIOS and the system locked up satellite

I have a Toshiba Satellite 5205, I updated the BIOS to 1.5 (I think it was.)

And the laptop locked up it seemed all in the bios flashing. The reason why I say shut up
is because windows never stop after the flash and windows was totally locked up.

Now when I turn on the laptop, I get no image on the LCD at all. And the remote control downwards at the front said "technician / bios call. I know that if the battery go dead bios will reset (like a desktop computer.)

But another problem is, can't get off the case to get at the battery, so he'll recover.
I never had too many problems with laptops, I can fix/repair computers office without problem.

I was wondering, bios clear/reset if I take the battery pack on the back of the computer laptop itself?
Don't know if it will have the same effect as the removal of the (watch battery inside like a normal desktop computer.)

I had a problem with my pad endangered and hang retouching who enter or exit Windows. It's
    why I decided to update.

    Because I don't get a picture now, I can't re-flashing the bios.

Any advice on that would be great.

    Hello James

If you remove the CMOS battery, it will have no influence. The BIOS is written in the BIOS chip and cannot be given to previous version before upgrading. The problem is that you have a United States model and I have no experience with the Toshiba U.S. models.

If you want to see the page we Toshiba under http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_home.jsp

Maybe you can find something interesting there. In any case, from your description, I assume that the BIOS is faulty and you need technical assistance. Call them and ask what exactly the error message. Please give us a feedback on this problem. It may be useful for other users we Toshiba.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Brightness of the display on Satellite Pro 4300 very dark

    Hello
I have an old Satellite 4300 Pro that I've updated for my daughter last summer.
I spent some time just right, put the upgrade of memory maximum and the installation of Windows 2000.

She just gave it me as she has a new model... and I need the laptop.
In any case, although it starts, the screen is very dark... totally unusable.
Oddly, the display is dark during the part of the BIOS of the start-up routine as well.

I tried many combinations of keys F nothing helps.
    Any suggestions?
    Phil

    Hello Phil

Pleae note that use of the combination of keys for brightness settings work, just at the moment where OS is started and if some Toshiba designed tools are pre-installed. If this happens when starting laptop too and the BIOS settings are not visible properly I assume the inverter FL (backlight) is defective and must be replaced.

  • Tecra M7: new stops in the bios the scanner when the lid is closed.

It took me a while to find the problem: energy saving? striker wacom? lol some very stupid "Star" in the new bios of Toshiba.
quote from the toshiba download site:

    * Version 1.70 - 2006-10-24 *.
    * Requirements of Intel incorporated to improve stability.*
    * Because of the changes to make sure that the scanner is not activated when the LCD is ferme.* *.
    * Version 1.60 - 2006-09-21 *.
    * Changed the temperature parameters.*

I have no idea what they were thinking, but since when I move that I often close the lid, it is very, very annoying, because I need to reboot in order to get my Tablet works again. the latest features are not an issue, I'll keep xp pro.

now give me a download link for version 1.6 of the tecra M7 of the bios. Thank you in advance, I'm counting on you.

You have European or OUR model of laptop?
Which Tecra do you have exactly (model number)?
