Broadband service disconnects due to windows updates

My broadband connection disconnects quite frequently. However, the yellow light on the modem is on that indicates that the connection has not declined. But the sites do not open. When I restart the modem of the sector he started working. The engineer visited to study and was told to turn off windows updates it takes bandwidth. My connection is 512 Kbps and model of modem is not Nokia Siemens SL2_141.
Help, please!

Hello

·          Have you tried to disable the Windows Update and checked her if the connection works?

You can disable the security temporarily software and check if that is causing the problem.

Reference:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Hope that information was useful

  • Impossible to install Vista Service Pack 1 through Windows Update

    Hello

Recently I had to reinstall windows vista home premium 32 bit on my old acer aspire laptop. I did a "clean install", all was well with this operation. I had to install a large number of various updates after doing, now I am notified via windows update vista service pack 1 is available for download/installation. When I try to perform this action, I get a popup window that informs me of what to know before installing sp1, then I reach a window where I have to accept the terms of the software installation. Once I click on the little square and accept the conditions, it goes to another window with two choices... install & cancel, when I click the button install... instead of windows update download and install the update, I am presented with the view of windows update, the update has been installed successfully When in fact it was not. I prefer to install sp1 via windows update, because she was supposed to be a size smaller than the stand-alone version available on microsofts website. Has anyone else had the same question, and if so how do you fix? Of course this laptop is not my main computer, but as it still works very well I continue to use it.

    Thank you

    David

    Hello

Support for Vista without SPs is complete.

Use the standalone version for both SPS.

Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.

It will also tell you which SP you have installed.

Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, installation of SP1 first if it is not already installed.

  • Audio laptop XPS 14 stopped working (perhaps due to Windows updates?)

I have a laptop XPS 14, I bought one a few months ago (June 2013).  It is currently running Windows 7 Home Premium.  Last Tuesday (8/13), I installed the latest round of Windows updates. Restarted my computer after installation. Everything seemed fine. However, the next day when I then booted up my machine, there was no noise. The sound icon in the system tray, but had a red 'X' and if I tried to open the sound controls, there was no option to do anything, just "no audio device is installed."

Thinking that there was some conflict or problem with one of the updates, I did a system restore to before the updates were installed. When my computer started after restoring, my sound is back. I then tried to reinstall updates, a little at a time, restarting after each installation.  After each installation and reboot, I still had sound. Then I shut down my computer. However, the next time I booted up, the noise was gone again.

At this point, I downloaded the driver (RealTek audio) sound of the website of Dell and reinstalled my audio driver. After the reinstallation, my sound worked again... UNTIL THE NEXT TIME I BOOTED MY MACHINE OFF IT.

Then... Reinstall the driver solves the problem, but only temporarily and at the next start upward, the pilot seems to be missing/no reused (it seems that maybe Windows using / trying to use the Intel driver instead, but this driver is for my HDMI port).  I also note that this first time I booted up (the day after you initially install Windows updates), I also had a dialog box saying that the Dell Quickset program (which I believe is the "Dell Audio" controller) does not start/run correctly (and, if I remember correctly, was running in compatibility mode?).

Someone at - it else seen/heard of / has encountered this problem?  I contacted Dell with cat, and the technician told me that my driver reinstall should solve the problem (although I already told him that I had done this and what he * didn't * fixed). The only other suggestions I got Dell were 1) to navigate to the Microsoft page to diagnose problems of audio playback (which is not a bad thing) and 2) to create a new user account (which seems unlikely to help, since the problem occurred before I even log in as user).

If the new motherboard arrived and when the technician open my machine right away, he saw a problem with the former - a piece of restraint was partially broken, apparently to create a connection wrong tightened with a cable that was part of the sound.  After replacing the MB we had some beep code problems (memory needed to be reinstalled, battery CMOS should be taken out and put back in), but since this has been settled, everything seems to work. : I cross my fingers that no other issues arise:
