OfficeJet 5740e: 5740e copy of document HP slow speed

My HP 5740e all-in-one copies documents in black very slowly.

I have Windows 7 Pro (64-bit operating system).

Copy of the full page of the document in black on my glass takes 92 seconds. Copy of full page photo on my glass takes 95 seconds. Downloaded pages copy a full-page in black within 10 seconds.  I can't understand how to configure the program for copying copies color letter size of my files.

Is this normal?

I tried changing the settings to copy nothing helps. I think I can have changed settings at some point, but I can't cancel.

Hello!
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope that you are @mikegoincrazy,

I read your post on the issue of the slow copy you're having with your Officejet 5740 and I wanted to stop doing you to share my own suggestions.

I would say to try a reset of the power supply and make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet, avoiding bars and surge arresters. You can also try a different wall jack to see if that makes a difference. If copies continue to be much slower than a print, contact HP directly to discuss replacement of the device.

With the printer, unplug the power cord at the back of the unit.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the back of the unit.
If the printer does not by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

If you have trouble, let me know and I'll do my best to help.

Hit the "accept as Solution" if we reached a solution and the "thumbs up".

to say thank you for my help.

Have a wonderful day

When you copy a document via the ADF or the glass, the margin on the copy is moved to the right compared to the original.

I checked to make sure that my driver/firmware is updated and reinstalled just to be sure, I did a hard reset, checked to make sure there is no jammed paper, clean the rolls of paper and rolls and aligned the print head. Copy will be moved to the right approximately 3/8 "compared to the original.

The printer is around the age of 5 months and he just started this about 4-5 days ago. It was not something done that I know to start doing this. I have tried everything I have seen suggested and am late know what I can do--for any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Hey 3star8,

I would say your best bet at this point would be calling HP directly to solve this problem. It seems to me that the problem is that phone support an internal hardware problem of HP may place an order with printer replacement with you under the printer warranty. If you have problems with the replacement, let me know.

    Good luck!

  • How to cancel the option "copy of documents before printing?

I bought a HP Officejet Pro 8600. When I was setting it upward, I clicked an option that said I could copy all documents before printing. I would like to know how to cancel this option because delays copies my printing time and the printer pushes on a blank page between every page it prints which is rather annoying. Help, please! Thank you

Thanks for your help! I'm fiddling around with it the other day, and in some way, I solved the problem. So it is no longer a copy before printing - success!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 - Paper copy on the glass of the scanner, Officejet tries to copy the ADF

I'm trying to copy a document on my HP Officejet Pro 8600.  I placed the original face down on the scanner glass.  There is no original in the ADF.  Then, I pressed "Copy" and "launch in black."  the Offficejet then "think" the original is in the ADF file and try to copy a non-existent original.  The Officejet then generates a paper jam «»
in the ADF file' error message with instructions to clear paper jam and press 'OK' and spews a piece of paper from the paper tray. There is not an option for 'back '.  If I try to humor the Officejet by opening and closing the cover of the ADF and pressing 'OK', the Officeject generates a copy which is covered with black ink.  If I ask preview copy o, the document on the scanner glass is displayed.  I can adjust margins, etc.  When I select then 'copy' and 'Black start', the Officejet is trying to copy a nonexistent document in the ADF and generates the "Paper jam" message again.  Since there is not an option "go back", I turn the printer off, then turn it back on, and then try again.

How do I train me or the Officejet for copy of the scanner glass when the original is located on the glass of the scanner NOT the ADF?

Thanks for your help to solve this frustrating problem.

    Hey @JaneDeere ,

The semi Full Reset is a complete programming on your printer reset. It resets everything on your printer, not only the wireless. Unfortunately, this reset is our last resort. Because the issue is still produced the last step would be the printer to service.

I recommend at this point, contacting the Technical Support queue by phone to explore additional options.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see your HP Officejet 6500 has begun printing documents less then enlarged.   I would be delighted to help you to save and print actual size but requires a bit more information:

    1. what program you print from?

    3. How is the printer connected, USB or wireless?

    4. do you get an error message when you try to print?

    5. If you open wordpad or webpage you are able to get a full impression?

  • Deliver the profile of the user - My Documents folder moved to C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP. I can't view or access this folder to copy My Documents back. Help?

XP Home SP3 on my laptop (no not in network - independent).

After an Adobe Reader 10 X installed, there is a reboot, and when I logged in the profile that appeared was not mine - it was as if it was a new installation. I looked for my personal documents under My Documents and did not find them. So, I looked for them on the C: drive, found (no not noted where), and copied My Documents to what seemed like the name /my Documents /. After that, I could access my documents by clicking Start-My Documents online. I did another reboot. Now, after login, my old profile is displayed, and the My Documents folder is empty except for the value by default my pictures, my music, my videos, and favorite - and these are all basically empty.

I then ran a program Search and Recover to find my documents - they were found under C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP\. Unfortunately, I can't seem to see that to explore (I have it configured to display the hidden files and folders). Is it possible to go to this folder and the moving my Documents back to my profile?

    Thank you

    Hello

    You can view these methods:

    Method 1:

Check to see if the problem exists in Safe Mode, if the computer works as expected in mode without failure, then we can solve the problem in the clean boot state.
    a. refer to the article below for the procedure safe mode in Windows XP
A description of the options to start in Windows XP Mode
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315222

    b. it is a possibility that there is a startup program that is launched with a command line and it appears.
You need to perform a clean boot to find the program that is causing and then disable or remove.
How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353/en-us
Note: When you are finished troubleshooting, follow the steps as explained in the article to reset the computer to start as usual.

    Method 2:

System Restore takes a "snapshot" of critical system files and some program files and the registry settings and stores this information as restore points. If your computer is not working properly, you can use these points to return Windows XP to a previous state when your computer was working properly restore. It can also change scripts, batch files, and other types of executable files on your computer.

  • How can I copy a document when the printer display always flashes missing cartridge message?

HP D110 has x, os XP: is it possible to replace the touch screen to copy a document when a cartridge is missing and the display will show only this error message?  The black cartridge is there and I can still print.

    Hi mrmarquar,

There is no option to print or copy without cartridge into the two slots in the cartridge. The printer needs a cartridge into the two slots, even if the Habs ink is low, it should always copy in black and white.
