You can try these free programs to search for malicious software that work with your existing anti-virus software:
- Microsoft safety scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit utility
- Hitman Pro

I can't open links in google search using Firefox.
I can open the links when I search with Bing or Yahoo and Google looking for work when I use IE, so it's only when I use Google with Firefox. Also, if I try to open links in a new tab, I get error 404. For example, if I try to open bbc.co.uk/news from the search page it does not do anything, if I try to open it in a new tab I get Error 404 and this string in the address bar: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t & rct = j & q = & esrc = s & source = web & cd = 1 & cad = AJLN & uact = 8 & ved = 0CB4QFjAAahUKEwjEzpKmif3IAhUM9GMKHQZeClQ & url = http %3 has % 2F % www.bbc.com%2Fnews 2F, & usg = AFQjCNFZIG7IKy3foMCFY0dzRExKv9KjFQ
I tried refreshing Firefox and disabling add-ons; I don't know what else to do.
I have Windows 10, if this has something to do with the problem.
You can try to delete the files (extensions.json and extensions.ini) extensions.* and compatibility.ini in the profile folder of Firefox to reset the extensions registry.
New files will be created if necessary.
See "extension corrupted files:

If you see disabled extensions or is not compatible in "Firefox button/Tools menu > Modules > Extensions ' and then click the Tools button at the left end of the search bar to check if there is an update available compatibility.
If that didn't help then also delete the addons.json file and the file prefs.js reset setting pref of the extension of the Protection of Kaspersky.

Firefox (25.0.1) and Google worked well together until the 26/11/2013 when a guest user searched on Google. Google search still works fine on IE and Chrome. The problem is that Firefox and only with Google. Bing, Ask, Yahoo, Wikipedia all perform and appear as expected. Installs any recent or upgrades. No other search engine returns the results in a column on the left. It's as if the guest user drags it results to the left column and the display became the default. I can't restore the previous view. I restarted Windows. I reinstalled Firefox, but that has not solved the problem. I have disabled all addons (I didn't have any) and run in safe mode, the problem persists. Aspect is default 25.0.1
Reset the zoom of page on pages that are causing problems.
- View > Zoom > reset (Ctrl + 0 (zero); 0 + Command on Mac)

It is possible that your security (firewall, antivirus) software blocks or limit Firefox or the process of plugin-container without you inform, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.
Delete all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container in the permissions list in the firewall and allow your firewall to ask permission to get access full and unrestricted, again to install for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

Google search results on Mac OSX - disappeared when returning to page
Yosemite running on a MacBook Air. When I search with Google (my default), the results appear normally. However, once I click on an ad, go ahead and then return the results of the search, the search results page is empty. Refreshing works OK, but why would this happen? It is these - last month - but also consistent and what happens with Firefox (vs Chrome or Safari).
Does anyone else have this problem?
Maybe you have increased your zoom level on the results page recently? I suspect that because there is an old problem with going back to the search results page and blank might as well have it, and it seems to occur only when you use a zoom level high on Google with 'instant prediction results' (the default setting). When to return to this page, Firefox glitches when you restore the cache in memory page, in fact, you can see the results for a fraction of a second before it empty out.
Assuming you like your zoom level and enjoy using the instant prediction results, then the solution is to disable the part of the Firefox cached in memory by changing a setting under the covers.
(1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press return / enter. Click on the button promising to be careful.
(2) in the search above the list box, type or paste sess and make a pause so that the list is filtered
(3) double-click the preference browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers and change the value from-1 to 0 (that's a zero).
(Please change not all other parameters similar to 0-sounding or you can disable the ability of Firefox to save/restore your tabs and windows open).
Then reload the page of Google results and the test. Who will fix this for you?

Google search does not work - blank page
Hello
I have a problem with Google search in Firefox: both the default Google search bar and the search using "www.google.com" do not return results.
It seems as if I'm on the Google site, but there is no result. And sometimes Firefox suddenly crashes when I'm looking through the search bar.
I ran all the malware programs proposed by Mozilla to fix the problem, but nothing was found. I have also cleared cache and cookies, started in safe mode and also re-installed Firefox, but nothing is working.
Please help me with this problem!
I found the cause.
26 of Firefox is not compatible with W7 64 bit.
See the screenshot. -
They are small pop up windows. When I start to enter key words to search for, very often these things pop up and not a single one. A lot of them. Popping each other on the other on the other. I can't enter anything again in the Google search box until I closed all the windows. And, usually, the ones many of them will appear again when I enter my search in the next letter.
This is what it says in the pop up box:
Along the top it says in clear blue margin 'search for opening.
Under the foregoing and in a white box, he said:
"You have chosen to open.
[a symbol Windows] search
which is a: application/json from: https//www.google.com
Then on the sketch of an inner box, it reads "that should Firefox do with this file?" and it gives the following options:
Open with ["Browse" button] DownThemAll! Save File [This one is checked as the default]
Then a check box with the text next to it: "cela automatically for files like this in the future.
Under this is a button 'OK' which is in gray and cannot be controlled and one button 'Cancel' which may be. I have never done but used the 'X' at the top right of the box to close this window.
Now I see that I have limited options for "Happen" for the frequency. It is not every time that Firefox is open, but it is MUCH more common than 'a few times a week'. More like several times a day.
I erased the Max, disabled all extensions and then restarted my computer. I tried to raise the problem with the Google search and it didn't happen (yet). I then re-enabled only the modules that really make me more easy life on the net, and once again, the problem has not (yet) surface.
I don't the tag as resolved for a few more days to be sure it is resolved.
Thanks for the help! I hope it's resolved now.

Help in the preparation of site for google search
Hello. I don't know if someone can help me or if I need to communicate with google, but I'm trying to understand how to prepare my site for Google Search. Right now my site appears in search results, but not how I would want that there. In the screenshot below, my site is the official site of Hollie Fab. I don't want the 'about' and page 'Contact us' to appear like they are child pages and no parent. Is this all that I can do in Muse about it or is it a google thing?
I know it's probably a google thing, but I would like to than my result of research for display with sitelinks as in the example below. I'm new to the whole google webmaster thing so I don't know if there is a way I can prepare my site in Muse?
Thank you
Hello
This will be done by Google, try to use sitelink option in Google Webmaster to downgrade and see if that helps

I have Firefox 13 and real player 15, but the download this video option does not work, under extensions to save browser plugin is disabled, but if active videos do not play in youtube, error occurs, it's major drawback, it works well with IE, but I prefer Firefox so any help to rectify the issue is appreciated.
One possibility is to upgrade to Flash 11.2 and re - activate the Plugin RealPlayer browser Record extension in the Add-ons Manager (Tools > Modules > Extensions) (it's a softblock).
If you need to return to 11.2 Flash you can download Player Flash 11.2 through this direct link:
You must uninstall version 11.3 Flash.

Since Firefox v34, search results page is empty, 1) by clicking a link in a Google search results page and loading of the linked page, 2) Zoom on the text on the page that Google took me and then without resetting the zoom text, 3) by clicking on the arrow of Firefox 'Back' to return to Google search results. If at that time I reload the page of Google results, or click back one page and will transmit then again, the full search results will be displayed then again.
This happens on my Windows 7 PC as well as my Vista laptop. Is it a glitch with text zoom and Google in Firefox version 34?
Sorry, this seems to be a problem with the cache in memory of Firefox: when you use a high Google zoom level the (the default setting) with "instant prediction results" then Firefox pips showing again after going back page (you can see the results for a fraction of a second before they white).
Assuming you like your zoom level and enjoy using the instant prediction results, then the solution is to disable the part of the Firefox cached in memory by changing a setting under the covers.
(1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER.
Fixed? (Or should I say, worked around?)

How can I remove icons Google Apps and Google search page AFTER 41 of Firefox Update Options?
Before my recent upgrade to Firefox 41, while using Google search in the search bar, Google Apps and Options icons were not on the search page. After the upgrade to Firefox 41, two icons appear. How can I remove them?
You can get Google results through two other sites, with an accent like the privacy. You can judge if you like better the layout:
I do not use those regularly myself, so I don't know exactly what the differences would be.

After the reset of firefox when it crashed unless safe mode cannot use the google search engine
I had to reset Firefox after it crashed it unless I tried in safe mode, turn it off hardware acceleration still crashes so reset. Lost all my favorites and history etc. and my google search bar does more actually my search bar does not work any search engine, I try and I can not synchronize either as I have an unknown error
After a reset, you should find a folder of old data of Firefox on your desktop. If you do not, you can recover your bookmarks and other data from it. Is this what?
On your question about your Google search bar, it's the Firefox search bar integrated with search engine selection to the bottom of the left side?
Do these search boxes work:
- Address bar (also known as URL bar)
- Firefox homepage (if you use it)
- Top of the new tab (if you use it)
