  • Built-in microphone for Satellite A350 / 07 h pick up static

    Hi all

Enough in computer science when it comes to the day-to-day management of a computer, but I'm having big problems with my microphone on my model satellite A350 / 0 H.

Whenever I try to talk to anyone using Msn, all they can hear is static and a small amount of my voice. I currently the amp microphone 0dbs and it helped a little, but is there anything else I can change levels of?

I have windows vista 32 bit and really dnt want to buy an external mic!

Recorded playback of my voice is fundamentally static as well!

    Hello

To be honest I have never had a problem with the microphone yet so I can't say much on the subject, but in your case I would start with driver updates...
You need to update the driver for the webcam because the microphone is a part of it and the audio driver. Both can be downloaded here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/ > support & downloads > download drivers

If it doesn't work you should also update your BIOS. You can find it on the Toshiba site too.

By the way: the Vista version are you using, is it preinstalled Toshiba or did you do your own installation?

  • Good for Satellite M40 DVD DVD player model

Can someone tell me what model of drive of DVD the Satellite M40 (PSM40A) was supposed to come with?
According to Windows (XP Pro), mine was initially a carpet * a UJ831S, the version of firmware 1.00. Due to problems with this drive, it was replaced under warranty by Toshiba.

According to the label, the new disc is a carpet * a UJ840, with annotation HW 1.10 FW 1.40, which I assume the hardware and firmware versions respectively. Problem is that this drive is reports still on Windows as a UJ831S, a firmware version 1.40 now.

I am sure that Toshiba write their own firmware for these drives and so have control over what is reported for Windows. I suspect that this model of M40 should never take a UJ840 and so it's to be deliberately badly reported to Windows as a UJ831S. I never saw the label on the original disc and have therefore no ideae if it was actually a UJ831S.

The reason why I'm curious is that I always have problems playing some audio CD original with this player and think that it could be a problem of hardware compatibility. It is certainly not a question of protection of the CD, and the CD set fine on other laptops I tried them, with the exception of Toshibas with Mat * one or recorders of DVD Teac.
Toshiba say that nothing can do more.

I must point out that this laptop was purchased in New Zealand and can be specific to the Australasian market. I write here because the New Zealand from Toshiba web site (actually ends up on the Austraian site) does not appear to have a forum.

    Thank you
    Malc

    Hello

I studied a bit in the internet on the disc that came with this unit but I can't find useful information about the name of the drive and which drive was delivered with this device, but I guess it was a UJ831S.
However, I suggest that the new drive is UJ840, but the Windows operating system recognizes this disk as a UJ831S because of the firmware.

I found this topic on the identification of bad player:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=10034&start=15

In this case, the drive was out of life, and he was replaced by another having the same properties.
I think that he is even on your laptop.

  • Re: Where to find the drivers for satellite M40-110

I need the right updated drivers (especially since the update of the Bios) to M40 - 110, but the official site there are only drivers for M70 M100 &... WHY?
    I need the drivers now.

    Hello

There is a simple explanation, why you can't find the drivers for the Satellite M40 in the area of the laptop.
The old series of mobile have been moved to an area of ARCHIVE of the page of European driver of Toshiba.

So if you need the drivers, go to the ARCHIVES-> Satellite-> Satellite M Series-> Satellite M40

    ;)

    Good bye

    Hello

  • Where is the BIOS for Satellite M40?

    Hello

I searched for the M40 BIOS without success. When I select the Satellite/M series offers only the M100 and M70. Can anyone give me a tip?

    Thank you
    Mickey

    Hello

Satellite M40 is a little older and so you should search in * Archives *.

    For example:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers
    * Archive * > Satellite > Satellite M Series > Satellite M40 (xxxx)

Then you select the right model number. If you n t he know to look on the underside of the laptop. There should be a label with the correct information.

  • Built-in microphone problem Satellite L300D

I got my satellite L300D (model # PSLC8C-06100F) on a year ago, and when I got to use Skype, he couldn't find a microphone.
I assumed that, unlike my previous satellite the L300D just didn't come with a built-in microphone.

However, a few weeks ago, I was on Skype and having problems with the headset I had plugged, and when I unplugged it I suddenly had great sound that passes through the built-in mic, I thought wasn't there!

The problem is that I couldn't to find much - not to mention make it work again - since once.
    What happens here?
I obviously HAVE a built-in microphone, but my computer or Skype can seem to find.

If anyone can help out me on this, I would be very grateful!

    Hello

If your Satellite L300D takes in charge the internal webcam then the internal microphone should be available also.
Generally, the parameters of the internal microphone not found in the control panel-> sound-> the recording tab.
    Please check the settings there

It would be also desirable to update the audio driver.

    Good luck

  • Card reader for Satellite M40 updates

    Hello

I have a Satellite M40 and my SD card reader will not read the new SDHC memory card type. Are there drivers for this?

    Cheers foxy packard

It s not a limitation of the software (driver), but a physical limitation. The hardware's player card doesn t support this kind of maps and a driver update will not help!

Maybe you can buy an external card reader that supports SDHC memory cards.
These external card readers are not expensive and you can connect to the laptop's USB ports

  • Equium M40x: Can I use the adapter for Satellite M40 series?

Can I use a power supply on my Equium M40x if it says it is compatible with the Satellite M40 series? The two laptops are similar, and the image of the card looks the same as the one I had. The part number is PA3378E-3AC3.

    Hello

the satellite needs a power adapter 65W and 19V.
Your power adapter output performance is too large (75W), you should not use it to avoid damage to the satellite.

  • Built-in webcam for Satellite A200 (PSAF6A) does not work properly

    Hello world

The webcam works fine once the system starts. But sometimes after the laptop is idle for a while or return to standby mode, the webcam does not work and a "Graphics rendering failed" error message appears when I try to turn on the webcam of the built-in Camera Assistant Software.
And I don't think that happens only happens on this machine: I got a replacement of the same model due to an error which is not related to the webcam, and again the same problem happened on this machine.

I tried different drivers on the site of Toshiba (AUS) and the driver of webcam usb by default by Microsoft, but the same result... I also read through the forum of Toshiba. Most related threads did not mention the "Graphics rendering failed" error message. I think that this problem is caused by a defective software by Microsoft or Toshiba; and the reason being that the webcam worked after the system starts and with the premise of no change in material or displacement of the laptop, it stops working after a short inactivity or return to sleep.

PS: I also reinstalled windows many times continue the recovery DVDs...

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
    Tony

In my view, this problem could be related to the graphics card driver.
I saw this error message (failure of the graphics rendering) while playing a few games.

So in my opinion, this isn't just a question of webcam.

Try to update the graphics driver. I put t know exactly what graphics card you have, but try this sites:

    Hello

Why you n t check page pilot European Toshiba?

There are all the drivers that are required for this unit.

I presume you didn't search in the area of the Archive. Is this good?
Well, seems that the drivers have been moved to archive because the M40 is a little old series.

    Check it!

Yes, I tried F7 and nothing helped! The bios only I found here is 1, 70 - WIN and that only works on windows. So I can't install also what I did I install windows 98 on it and my system is in place but I tried to install the Bios, I got error. So I can't start it to update.

On this forum I saw it there has updated trad 1.70 if toshiba support team can send it to me on the email address so I could update the bios my bios is 1.0!

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hello

First team Toshiba is not here in the forum user to.
Secondly it can update BIOS victory only running Windows OS-based, it would be best that the use of the Toshiba preinstalled version of Windows in order to run the BIOS update.

By the way; I found versions of BIOS Toshiba U.S. on page here, you can download the traditional BIOS which can be updated using the diskette.
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/home.jsp
Notes; Toshiba laptops, US have different model numbers.

    Hello

  • Satellite M40 - need Diagnostics CD

Can someone help me with a diagnosis for satellite M40 cd. I have the repair manual, but need the diagnostic CD so I can check if the cooling fan must be replace. The laptop turns off by itself every 30-45 minutes which I think is a heat problem, the laptop is too hot to the touch as well.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hey Buddy,

I put t know what CD diagnosis you mean but such a drive is not available. I've never seen the diagnostic tools on the official website of Toshiba. I think that certain diagnoses are available for Toshiba

If your laptop is overheating, you should try to clean the fan using a jet of compressed air. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans.
