by using the DCDataRow class instead of the oracle.jbo.Row interface

Hello

The API documentation says that class oracle.adf.model.bean.DCDataRow extends oracle.jbo.server.ViewRowImpl and implements oracle.jbo.Row.

-In the case of a reply in another forum thread, Re: best way to recover an attributeValue of links in a backing bean?:
""Btw.: you can cast DCDataRow, which is the super class for data models that do not work with oracle.jbo.Row, ".
-Also in oct2010-otn-harvest - 183714.pdf it says:
"As I mentioned earlier, the business can be anything, casting, in which case the line type for the type of business ADF oracle.jbo.Row component may not be a generic solution to use. In this case, the type of line to DCDataRow cast
DCDataRow vRow = (DCDataRow) vDCIteratorBinding.getCurrentRow ();
"

This sample application uses the DCDataRow class instead of the oracle.jbo.Row interface
at http://www.consideringred.com/files/oracle/2010/Thread1665841AttributeValuesApp-v0.03.zip
  public String getMyNameFromIterator()
  {
    BindingContainer vBindingContainer =
       BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    DCBindingContainer vDCBindingContainer = (DCBindingContainer)vBindingContainer;
    DCIteratorBinding vDCIteratorBinding =
       vDCBindingContainer.findIteratorBinding("findSomeMyRowsIterator");
    DCDataRow vDCDataRow = (DCDataRow)vDCIteratorBinding.getCurrentRow();
    return (String)vDCDataRow.getAttribute("myName");
  }
question
-(q1), which would be the more detailed explanation about when and why to make a cast of the class oracle.adf.model.bean.DCDataRow instead of the oracle.jbo.Row of the interface in managed bean code?

Thank you very much
Jan Vervecken

Hello

the answer to that is that I was wrong. DCDataRow is not the super class, but one of the classes of implementation. I'll fix the entrance of the harvest with the next update. Indeed line runs through implementations

    Newer versions of oracle have implemented a great new technology to help solve problems, called "error messages."  Unfortunately, I can't find any reference to an error message named 'is no longer able to connect.

    And why you are moving your site from inventory?  When you have installed oracle, he put the inventory where he wanted.  There is no reason to try to change or replace.

  • Application is not able to connect using the Oracle SCAN chain

    Dear Oracle gurus

    We have 11g r2 11.2.0.3.0 2 cluster nodes

    We have configured the scanning using scan-vip single using/etc/hosts file resolution

    Our app to work correctly using the string of double local Vip (10g method)

    Scan works very well in the database server when we check using sqlplus

    Works very well in the database server Oracle SCAN

    Sqlplus DB - 1 test bench / testbed@my-db-scan:1521 / orcl

    When we use it below URL JDBC in Tomcat Version-6 then "doesn't allow not to connect even if there will connect a while but connectivity isn't stable when we reboot the tomcat"

    Hibernate.Connection.URL=jdbc:Oracle:Thin:@My-DB-Scan:1521/ORCL

    Application is not able to connect using the Oracle SCAN chain

  • SSL mutual authentication using the Oracle stored procedure

    Hello

    DB version:
    Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64 bit Production

    Is possible to perform mutual authentication SSL uses the Oracle stored procedure?
    I read articles and forums saying that it is not a good approach to call the Web service using the Oracle procedure (and I don't know if it's even possible authentication using procs). But I would like to know if it's possible and how.

    In other is words there a way to incorporate the client certificate information into a procedure that calls a Web service.

    I read the articles to do it in JAVA or .net. But please advice how we can achieve using Oracle procedures.

    Thank you.

    To learn more. SSL what for?

    Oracle PL/SQL only supports client standard TCP sockets. However, interface for HTTP, Oracle PL/SQL also supports HTTPS - which requires the certificates of authentication of the server to be stored in a portfolio of Oracle web and used during the transmission via HTTPS. See the code example {message identifier: = 1925297} for more details.

    Forums and articles written by idiots. For idiots.

    And no, I'm not to embellish my response to this pitch that you met. It is false. It is written by ignorant people who don't know ANYTHING about the use of Oracle and PL/SQL. And feel free to forward my response to these idiots. They find me here if they want to argue...

    As an example of how to call a web service, see {message identifier: = 10158148} and {message: id = 10448611}.

    People,

    Hello. I just installed Oracle Client (Instant Client) in the directory/home/myOracle/Oracle_Client.

    Can all folk tell me how to start to use the Oracle client to access the database?

    I guess you're hurting understand the definition of Client instant, there isn't a tool or application or tool GUI as a sql developer or another that you can start using. It's just client installed with the minimum characteristics
    If you want to use the right application tool install sql developer in your instant client or simply running sqlplus

    See you soon

  • Send an e-mail using the Oracle database

    Hello!
    I installed Oracle 10 g (10.2.0.4) and I need to send an email using this database. In some notes said to run the following script, but in my case Oracle I don't have the owner "MailSender" or the AptMail function.

    Start
    dbms_output.put_line (mailsender. AptMail ('p_from', 'p_to', null, null, 'p_subject', null, 'p_smtp_host', null, null, null));
    END;

    Can someone explain if it is the right method to send an email using the Oracle database? If so how can I install it?

    Thank you
    Augusto

    Oracle 10.2 comes with UTL_MAIL package.

    Give it a read through the documentation. It's pretty simple to use.

  • the variable name of database query to SQL Server using the Oracle database link

    Hi all

    I have an ApEx 4.1 application running on x 64 (11.2.0.1) 11g on Windows Server 2008 x 64, and I have a few points of data integration with SQL (2005 and 2008) server that I need to create. I have configured the database with dg4odbc link and it works perfectly... I can run queries on the SQL Server database without any problem using the database link.

    However, there is a scenario where the SQL Server database name is dynamic, and I need to generate on the fly in a PL/SQL block and then use it in a query dynamic SQL (all this in the ApEx). It of wherever I meet problems... when I asked the default database that is based on the ODBC connection and I don't have to specify the name of the database, no problem. But when I need access to one of the several other databases by default, I received the error "invalid table.

    It works well:* (note that 'fv' is the name of my database link)

    v_query1: = "select 'Release Date' from dbo." Schedules@FV where dbo. Annexes. "" SchedID "=: calendar";
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE v_query1 in rel_date using the grid.

    I then take this rel_date variable, convert a varchar2 (rel_date_char), then use it as the name of the database in the following query...

    _ It returns an error(error ORA-00903: invalid table name)

    v_query2: = "select"PARTNO": rel_date_char.dbo.ProdDetails@fv where 'SchedID' =: calendar and"UnitID"=: unit"
    and 'MasterKey' =: master and "ParentKey" =: parent';

    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE v_query2 in part_number using planning, master, parent unit;

    I also tried using all of the following conditions without result:

    "select"PARTNO"of" | : rel_date_char | '.dbo. ProdDetails@fv where 'SchedID '...
    "select"PARTNO"of" | rel_date_char | '.dbo. ProdDetails@fv where 'SchedID '...
    "select"PARTNO"of" | @rel_date_char | '.dbo. ProdDetails@fv where 'SchedID '...
    "select"PARTNO"in @rel_date_char.dbo.ProdDetails @fv where 'SchedID'..."

    Is it possible to do it in PL/SQL?

    Thanks for any help!

    4 whole nr;
    5 tabname varchar2 (20): = 'EMP ';

  • Impossible to compile the Java Code using the Oracle API

    Hi all

    I use the following code for use in Oracle 11 g. What pots of IOM should I include to get this to compile? I seem to have all the necessary jars, except the one that contains Thor.API.Operations... If someone could point me in the right direction for this, I would be very grateful.

    package AdTest;

    tcResultSet childFormDef = (f.getProcessFormDefinitionKey (pKey), f.getProcessFormVersion (pKey)) f.getChildFormDefinition;

    childKey long = childFormDef.getLongValue ("Structure Utility.Child Tables.Child Key"); If there is only 1 child for the form table parent on the other you have to iterate over the result set

    Map attrChildData = new HashMap();
    String NUGroupe = "someValue";

    attrChildData.put ("UD_ADUSRC_GROUPNAME", NUGroupe);

    f.addProcessFormChildData (childKey, pKey, attrChildData);

  • not able to connect to the database using the oracle instant client

    Hello

    I am not able to connect to the database using the instant oracle from my local PC client. They use to connect to the database files and sqlnet.ora files LDAP.ora. If I want to test the connection, I found this executable tns wasn't there, so not able to tnsping. So I'm not able to solve this problem.

    Please let me know if a solution for everything

    There is little that tnsping can do sqlplus can't.

    Instead of
    tnsping mydb.myorg.com
    Try
    sqlplus-s-L /@mydb.myorg.com
    or
    sqlplus-s-L user/[email protected]

    If you get
    ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve the connect identifier specified
    you know that the customer could not resolve 'mydb.myorg.com '.

    If you get
    ORA-12541: TNS:no listener
    then "mydb.myorg.com" could be resolved, but there is no listener it running.

    If you get
    ORA-12514: TNS:listener is not currently of service requested in connect descriptor
    then "mydb.myorg.com" could be solved, the listener is in place, and the database is out of service.

    If you get
    ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid. connection refused
    you know that 'mydb.myorg.com' has been successfully resolved, and the database is running.

    If you want more details, such as how and what "mydb.myorg.com" is resolved, turn the tracking by adding the following to "sqlnet.ora:
    TRACE_LEVEL_CLIENT = ADMIN
    TRACE_DIRECTORY_CLIENT = C:\TEMP (a writable directory)

    Then you will find lines like this in the trace file:

    -THE INFORMATION SOURCE PARAMETER FOLLOWS-
    Attempt to load system pfile source C:\oracle\network\admin\sqlnet.ora
    Source of the setting successfully loaded

    Attempt to load the local pfile source C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\lanadvall\sqlnet.ora
    The parameter source has not been loaded.

    This shows you which configuration files are read, followed by the settings real read.

    I use the regular (not NoSQL or something) oracle database with oracle rest data service. Now I need to post data / put wrote in the body of the request using some json/xml format, how to consume them using the rest data service, searching inside the express application?  important: using pl/sql block

    Also, I am on,

    OK, I got the answer. At the express request, there is a link called body variable (: body in BLOB). but the BLOB data type. So, we have to convert that in other data, type what we in pl/sql. I've converted data type witch CLOB supports json.

  • Using the oracle same House for several database (configuration database)

    Hi guys,.

    I saw a few shops use the same Oracle_home to Multiple Instances of the database...

    Basically, they install binaries 11G or 10G once for example: /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2

    For the following database facilities they do not install the binaries... they just point the new home of the oracle database to what they currently have...

    for example

    cat/etc/oratab

    newdb:/U01/app/Oracle/product/10.2

    So I was wondering if someone could give me the right steps to do this or a metalink note...

    Thanks in advance

    Here's what I think below:

    Step 1

    Enter the new name of the database in/etc/oratab... pointing right oracle_home as below

    Step 2

    Use DBCA or scripts to create the new db

    Please, please provide the right steps or metalink note

    You cannot create a database without using the binaries already installed in an ORACLE_HOME. However, all THE databases are created in an existing OH. No matter if you have one or a hundred ORACLE_HOMEs, the procedure is the same:

    1 - set ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_SID and path suitable for the new db. Of course, if you only have a single ORACLE_HOME, you would choose it. If you have more than one, you choose the one you think is appropriate for this new db.
    .
    2. create the db. You can use dbca, or connect to an idle instance and run scripts that you saved for this purpose. DBCA is a very good and very practical tool, but is not required. It's use is come with a few caveats.

    3 - update the oratab accordingly, if you wish (I always thought). Do you understand how and when oratab is used, and why I say update ' If you see is '?

  • How can we use, "Create trigger and replace" using the oracle form

    Hi all
    How can we use the following creation or replacing the trigger in the form of oracle?
    Please help me.

    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER app_user.after_logon_trg
    AFTER LOGON WE app_user. SCHEMA
    BEGIN
    DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO.set_module (USER, "Initialized");
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'ALTER SESSION SET current_schema = SCHEMA_OWNER';
    END;

    Your information is good enough about the use of roles. This is the model of security that our customers use. Only assign us a password for roles and issues of connection of users shape the grant sql role using the password is used since in the form.

    However, I agree with Andreas on the hard coding schema owner. We have several clients, and each of them has a different name for the owner of the schema. By creating a public synonym for access to our forms tables, our forms work well at all sites.

    And after 325 posts, why don't give you yourself a real name on the forum?

    If the error only occurs when you start the dbca Wizard, the database itself should be ok. Before using it for the production you can stress test your db using swingbench or hammerora to be sure that iti works well.
