C40 SignalΘes by security

Greetings - C40 I run 5.1.13 continues to be marked by my security team for:

CVE-2014-0221

CVE-2014-0195

CVE-2014-3470

I was under the impression that 5.1.13 would fix the open SSL problems. Is it not the case? Someone else has similar problems or implemented no work around?

All 3 security issues are addressed in this notice: cisco-sa-20140605-openssl.  The bug in this notice for codecs series C CSCup25163 says it fixes CVE-2014-3470, but does not mention the other two.  They could be fixed in versions, it is indicated in the bug, which are TC6.0.3 and TC7.1.4, although not documented since I've found a reference to 3470 in the release notes, or it is possible that a fix would still be waiting for the others.

I have an interesting question.  I am running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition on a laptop on a WPA2 encrypted network.  I'm not too knowledgeable about the sharing network and other things but I have my computer on a home network to the name quite random, defined on private security.  My question is about someone of another media player starts to come on my desk.  I don't know who is this person... I've never seen their id of front handle.  My only other computer on the home network running Windows 7, but this media player is not yet implemented, since I personally don't use WMP to all.  I guess my question is why someone wmp media share link appear on a laptop running on a private network?  Are my proper settings not enough?

    Hello

It seems that the computer is picking up any signal of non-secure network connection. If your system turns your network and is picking up an unsecured wireless network, this means that the unsecured network has a stronger than your network (a) signal.

I suggest to access the link below and follow the steps in the article to stop your computer that connects to the unsecured network.

You can also navigate to the link below and follow the steps proposed by Karena R Sunday, December 12, 2010 07:16 and check if it helps.

  • C40 versus 3000MXP recording Local & Far - end video & audio

    Hello

On a project, we would use a 3000MXP Integrator codec.

But we discovered that this device is rained on the price list to sell more.

The next thing would be a codec C40. With of course is a much better codec.

But... I couldn't find a way to put Audio and video outputs (DVI or HDMI), so we can save on a local VCR the far and the near the end of a video conferencing session.

We have a single screen in the room on this screen, we would like the end of the great video Far on the screen and the small local video (PIP function by default)

But for the record, we would like to have a screen with equal participants.

Note: We have a video scaler which creates video PAL to a DVI/HDMI signal.

We need simple local recording due to security issues related to the meeting by videoconference.

So my question is: Y at - there a way to set the HDMI to DVI output so that we can see, site-by-site Local and Far-end Ditto for audio and video.

    As in the 3000MXP

  • How is it, I'm not able to prevent Firefox to allow pop-up windows - up even after I get the address of the site under the heading security?

I use Firefox on a Mac for many years and have been happy with it. I have recently went to a different trading called Trademonster.com platform and will have problems with its operation. When I call Trademonster, they told me that my Firefox must allow popup windows to operate. I notice that when I connect Trademonster on Firefox, it says «...» Firefox has prevented pop-up windows - 2 opening up." I spent under Security entered trademonster.com as site access and preferences, but I still get the signal that Firefox prevents pop-up windows from coming on the trading platform.

  • What can I do to make my wifi signal is getting better?

What can I do to make my better wifi signal?

The distance is the problem more obvious - there is a certain optimal range that the wireless signal can travel. If the network is covering an area larger than the router is able to transmit, or if there is a lot of corners for everyone and walls to penetrate, performance will take a hit. Interference is also a big problem, especially for those living in densely populated areas. Signals from other wireless networks and electronics can impact speeds, that can the physical obstacles, such as walls.

You can always look at your router administrator interface to see how many devices are connected. Or use a network Analyzer to see if you have unknown machines on your network. If it is a network that is open, close it. Configure security - preference WPA2, WEP is not as strong and put in a password that is difficult for others to guess.

  • Almost no storage on USB of the Satellite C40-C-10 key q

Hallo, I really hope to find you help here!
(English is not my mother tongue, so I apologize if it sounds a bit bumpy)

    Sinds a few months, I have a Satellite C40-C-10 q, 32 GB flash drive.

With it, I bought Office 365 including 1 TB on OneDrive.

Next to Windows 10 (pre installed) and O ffice 365 and the AVG Internet Security (installed by me) it is hardly anything on the laptop.

But obviously it is more that the laptop can handle: there is not even enough space to automatically to come Win 10 update, or AVG updates! (I only use for OneDrive)
It's ridiculess! It also means that the laptop computer is awfully slow.

    What can I do?

I called Toshiba support for the Netherlands and told me that I could place the recovery on a USB partition, giving me some 5 GB of extra storage.
I n t who done yet, because I found a warning message on the Toshiba site involving WinBoot. I don't know what it is, so. (http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB5703RQ0000R01NL.htm)
However, if it is something that can be done with this laptop, I would like to know how I have to do to get there!

He also seems to be something else using an SD card and sorry, I don t remember what that's all.
I bought an SD card, but then only because it s the micro version and I'm going to have what it takes to make it bigger and shaped in opening the laptop

Y at - there anyone out there who can take me by the hand and help me get more storage on this laptop?
I regret having chosen this model (I'm sorry, but what good does when she is not working well?)

No answer yet... I'm really the only one having this problem?

In another call to the technical support Toshiba that I heard, that part of the problem is that when this type of portable computer was developed, it was not known that she might be bundled with Windows 10 (which takes more space on the flash drive). Is this true? Shouldn't that be mentioned during the sale of the laptop?

I bought it because I did only need to Word and internet. No heavy no downloads, no games - nothing. But even that is as little as possible. 10 Windows cannot install the automatic updates and can sweep the virus.

My money is totally lost? Help, please!

  • Portege M800-107 - weak WiFi signal

You have a Portege M800 wireless problem? I have weak signal problem. This problem is specific or?

    Hello!

To be honest, I think that you are off of the router if you have a weak signal.
Have the latest driver WLAN and the BIOS?

Check if the laptop and the router use the same WLAN standards and disable all security features in the router like encryption, the hidden SSID, MAC address filtering settings, firewall, etc.

You have security software on your laptop? Disable it and test it again.

    Greg.

Yes, I have the same problem as well. And have requested such assistance. Toshiba does not help this problem. I even paid technical support and they couldn't deal with it. But the only thing I've found works is that if you convert the hard disk to format GPT format, then maybe the laptop detects the hard drive via a usb connection, which you have described.

before PROCEEDING I must warn you that if you do one of these things that YOU back UP THE information PRESENT ON OUR SSD, OKAY.

So try and have access to a command prompt.

You could just hit escape in your keyboard while making a start cold.

Or even boot from a usb thumbdrive image operating system to access the repair options.

Then try to access the command prompt.

Type "diskpart" in command prompt. Then press

Enter "list disk" in command prompt. Then press

Find your hard drive from the list of hard drives. Make sure that you fit the hard drive on the list with the size of the disk ssd.

Once you do this, note the number of the disk.

Once you make a note of it, select this drive by following these steps:
Enter "Select disk (for example" select disk 3 ' would be a good example, but it depends on YOUR disc for your ssd number). " Then press

Enter the command 'convert to GPT", press

You will see a message response to leave the command prompt you stating the conversion process succeeded in TPG.

And if you get a message that it could not be converted, then maybe it's because you have information on him and he needs to be formatted to convert format MBR to GPT format.

ALright. Well he he converted to GPT, and then we continue:

    (1) of type "exit".

    (2) the first step to exit the command prompt.

    (3) restart your computer.

    (4) try to install windows from usb media and ensure that your hard drive is detected in the installation menu.

Note: If you still don't see not your hard drive then convert the hard disk MBR format in the same way that I told you to do it with the conversion to the GPT format. Then you can consider making a virtual hard drive partition on the SSD, as TPG VHD format and simply boot from your usb thumbdrive and access os repair to have access to the cmd prompt to attach the virtual hard disk options.

    type diskpart. Press ENTER.

NOTE make sure your hard drive designated virtual name.

type of the select vdisk file = ------------.

    Type "attach vdisk" press ENTER.

It will spit out an answer saying that you attached with success.

type of flight from the list, and then press enter

find the letter of your thumbdrive os install.

Once you find it, hold that thought in your head.

    Press exit.
type followed by a colon ( press enter)

as in the following line type the word "setup".

You should get a pop-up of the start screen for the installation of your windows operating system. Yes, click on setup. Agree to the terms. Do a custom installation and NOW YOU WILL SEE your virtual hard drive partition and now you could install os windwos on it.

Please note: it worked only with image bootable usb windows 8.1 carrier os and not for windows 7 and it may work for windows 10, but I'm not too sure that it will work because it has not worked for me.

I hope this helps. If you still have problems with detecting the ssd or HDD virtual so I don't know what to tell you. I must warn you that if you do one of these things that YOU back UP THE information PRESENT ON OUR SSD, OKAY.

  • I have the latest Firefox installed on an older Dell and the CA security suite through my ISP, that takes up all my CPU and causes everything to freeze when I try to access its features. I need a free internet security software that my so tax system

Have old Dell Dimension 32/bit with Win XP Prof 2002. I installed the security suite CA from my ISP, which is a huge program and uses 100% CPU on starting and stopping, slowing everthing at a snails pace. I deleted evrything I need not using 30 days free Revo Unistaller Pro, but when I try to access the CA firewall to add programs to the exemption, it opens, then freezes tabbed Firefox and nothing else. Can not even stop from the start menu. I want to get rid of all (even if it's a good program, it's too big) and return to my Win Firewall(or another better free firewall that's good for more than 30 days trial) and some other internet security free program that is easy, runs in background and does not all my resources and is not just a 30 day free trial until you purchase the program. I also try to install a wireless adapter, so I can drop my ISP and use the free city/county signal as no work for 20 months!

    This has happened

    A few times a week

== Trying CA security firewall access Suite

I am the original poster, and I got rid of CA Security Suite & and loaded the Avast! who has some interesting features, even on the freeware. No more crashes or freeze & yes I think there is a problem with CA & Firefox, but don't know what it is. It was a big big time eater. I also got rid of my ISP and installed an Intellinet Wireless G PCI Card & am now entirely wireless on my PC. More quickly by far than what I was paying $50 / month for & I use my Windows Firewall.

  • WLAN signal lose every 3 seconds

    Hi, can someone help me?

I m not technical at all had a laptop bought me for Christmas, have a wireless router of the Virgin and tried too raise the computer laptop and received running, after many attempts with the help of virgins that they told me that I can not with this portable wireless because it has an active WEP wireless adapter and it must be too active WPA.

My friend took one look at it and do work on wireless internet but it keeps losing signal every 2/3 seconds he keeps just connection / disconnection. I m already sick of ringing Virgin and don t know where else run too much.

It's a PSLB9E - 009007EN model and it was installed with Windows XP not Vista!
Would really appreciate any help or someone can give me advice.

    Thank you

    Hello!

You should check if the wireless network adapter and the router use the same standards.

In addition, you must disable all security features like hidden SSID, MAC address filtering,

I put t know why Virgin tells you that you can not go wireless with this laptop, but usually you can use each notebook with each router if the wireless network adapter supports encryption (WPA or WEP).

In your case, I would also check if you have the latest drivers and BIOS.

    Good bye

  • P70 Pro SAT - signal strength dropped suddenly constantly

I recently bought the Satellite P70 Pro (2 weeks ago). It has Intel Pro Wireless 2200BG adapter. During the first week, I was able to detect approximately 6 wireless LANs near my apartment and my own WLAN has always been the power of the signal full (I use a Belkin Wireless Access Point).

I updated my Windows XP with updates of recommended security and after reboot, my laptop only barely detect my WLAN with very low signal strength at best, and I can't see all other WLANS that I used to work with the very good signal strength.

I do not understand why this has happened - I tried tto updated drivers Intel cards with the latest version (9.0.3.9) and also to restore my system to the date I bought it (IE restore to basically its state before buying). None of these actions has changed the fact that he basically can't pick up my WLAN more unless I'm ontop of it.

I think return the laptop and get the card replaced Intel because it seems defective.

If anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much
    Peter.

    Hello

I've read many users with different laptops, but with the same WiFi card have similar problems. Unfortunately have no explanation. I know that you can use the Agere or Toshiba WLAN card.

In my opinion, this card doesn't work properly with some access points or there is a problem with communication between them. I have the same card (Satellite M40) and WLAN Netgear access point. Since the first day, it works perfectly and without any update driver.

If you have time here to edge wireless you can find a lot of interesting topics on the similar theme.

    Good luck!

  • Toshiba Bulletin Board warns about the security of the poor

    Hi all.

I noticed that since I have my laptop (L500-1XL) who on a daily basis, a message appears, then disappears, but a sign is left on the security of the members of the Bulletin warning of red section, and if I pass the pointer over it, it says "poor."

    What does that mean?
What am I supposed to do with this vague information?
Does anyone else have this problem?

I installed, updated antivirus updated, running, is recorded by Windows and Windows does not have a problem.
I have a firewall works well.
I don't understand! What is poor?

    Hello

I think that this has nothing to do with the security of the laptop.
    Toshiba bulletin board provides a lot of information;
Networks/Wlan, PC health, security, PC diagnosis utility Eco monitor
Maybe the notification means the WiFi signal strength?  :|

  • New Wifi Pro MB w / full Signal In & Out

Hello, I have a Time Capsule that works with my Brighthouse Echo internet. My iMac and more old Macbook my wife pro have no problem with the wifi. I have a new (mid 2015) 15 "Macbook Pro who randomly loses internet access, but the wifi symbol in my top bar shows full signal. I have two choices of wifi at home, my TC is a wifi network, and then the Echo system has its own name as well. The guy who installed it said I can use either one, and past speedtest on my other devices show that both run about the same speed, 90-100 Mbps on average.

When my Macbook loses internet/email I go to wifi choices and select the other network wifi of mine and he then reconnects instantly and my internet comes back on. I also understood that he does not have in other places. I worked in the library one day and starbucks one day and never lost my signal. So I have kind of narrowed it down to my network home and than on my Macbook Pro. I left the diagnosis wireless run in the background tonight while I was working and when my signal dropped, the wifi icon was full force and wireless diagnosis did not alert me or show any type of disconnect or error.

Below are my two options of home network WiFi and after that I just did a few speed test, I realized the wifi I've implemented with Echo is over 100 Mbps on download speed, and wifi Time Capsule that I initially put in place was around 3mbps. The thing is she did the timeout problem when I use wifi based Echo network b/c sometimes I just continues to blow backwards to keep resetting my internet signal.

Brighthouse Echo WiFi network - speedtest.net is just 102mbps

    PHY mode: 802.11n

    BSSID: 8 c: 09:f4:cf:ea:e5

    Channel: 149.1

    Country code: U.S.

    Network type: Infrastructure

    Security: WPA2 Personal

    Signal / noise:-67 dBm /-95 dBm

    Transmission rate: 81

    CSM index: 10

My 2nd generation wireless network Time Capsule, the firmware is 7.6.4 - speedtest.net was just 3mbps

    PHY mode: 802.11n

    BSSID: 00:24:36:a5:02:8f

    Channel: 1

    Country code: U.S.

    Network type: Infrastructure

    Security: WPA/WPA2 Personal

    Signal / noise:-68 dBm / 0 dBm

If someone has an idea what could be causing this I'd love to know. Thank you.

    * New information:

As stated above the Macbook Pro speed test with wifi, I've implemented with Echo is on 100 Mbps on download speed and Time Capsule wifi that I originally put in place on average only 3mbps. But I just test o speed n my end 2009 27 "iMac with El Capitan and the echo is slower of 80mbps, and the wifi using my TC was 114mbps! So basically...

MacBook Pro: more than 100 Mbps Echo / Around 3mbps Time Capsule

iMac: around 80mbps Echo / around the time Capsule 114mbps
