c8p48av: failed to restore

Hi I have a HP

c8p48av

The hard drive failed in October and I got a HP Center service to Singapore replace the hardrive under warranty and reload Windows 8 (originally installed OS).  My touch screen stopped working after the upgrade to windows 8.1.

I tried to do a factory reset, such as recommended by HP to solve the problem of the touch screen, but the recovery disc I made on a USB key does not work, I couldn't even start the recovery because I received an error that was missing files from the recovery disc.  I ordered a new recovery disk on a USB stick directly from HP.  Ordered the drive last week and he just received today.

I tried to do a factory reset with the HP recovery disk.  He failed, and here is the text of the newspaper.

[22:10:38.14] ChkErrBB.CMD: detect an error in the PININST_BBV.
[22:10:38.14] ChkErrBB.CMD: check c:\system.sav\logs\BurnBootWarn.log
[22:10:38.14] ChkErrBB.CMD: or, visit c:\system.sav\logs\BurnBootMerge.log

I tried twice to do the rest and the same error and connect both times.

Ran a quick test of system and all this past.

What can I do else?

Connect your laptop to its power adapter

Connect the HP usb recovery key to a usb port on the laptop (preferably usb 2.0).

Press the Start button and then immediately press the ESC key to a half-second interval to call the start menu.

In the start menu, choose F10 to invoke the BIOS.

On the main tab of the BIOS, use the arrow down to select the date system.

Change the month 01, and then press the Enter key to move to the month.

Put the 01 of the month and press the Enter key to select the year.

Change the year 2014 and now press F10 to save the change.

The computer will restart and you must again press F2 for boot menu.

In the boot menu, press the F9 key to select the boot device options.

You should see v125w USB Hard Drive (UEFI) in option. It's the HP usb recovery key.  Select it and the laptop should boot into the Recovery Manager.

Click next and continue.

  • UNINSTALLING UBUNTU FAILS TO RESTORE THE DISK SPACE

Hello, I installed Ubuntu on a section of 30 GB of the drive 'C '. After you have uninstalled Ubuntu the 30Gbs have not been restored to the player leaving me 30Gbs short and I can't find a way to get back them. I assumed that space would be, should be automatically reinstated on the uninstallation of Ubuntu, but they were not. A clean install of windows and restoring the factory settings also failed (I use Acer recovery). Any assistance or solutions to restore the Gbs missing would be appreciated.

  • "Configuration of the Windows updates failed. Restoration of the changes. Do not turn off your computer"error when you try to install Windows updates

    Original title: problems with updates

I tried to install windows updates since the store won't let me update to 8.1 otherwise, but I've been miserably lacking 4 days in a row now. Commissioning Windows Update in Control Panel or the charm of parameters found 133 available updates and informs me that they will install automatically. If I then try to install progress remains at "downloading 0 KB", after a while updates are shown as installation. When the installation is completed I'm prompted to restart my pc. After the reboot if I'm greeted by the "Failure configuring Windows updates" screen for about an hour, then I'm able to reconnect to the desktop computer. I've been searching the forums for similar problems looking for an answer and trying different solutions, such as:

Stop the update service then renaming or deleting the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution. No positive results on this one.

Using SFC and DISM, first came up with my system is clean, the second did find and fix corrupt elements of store, but the problem persists.

Download the tool for troubleshooting Windows Update from Microsoft page, who reported finding and repairing problens with service, but again without success.

Reduce the installed updates at a time, in the instance that Windows can't handle most of the many updates at the same time. I tried this and it seemed to go well, but a strange point of interest that is so annoying is that several edits I checked are installing somehow, even if it is the only example that shows the number of updates being installed before restarting. Yet I always comes to the same conclusion. Failure of Windows updates the screen. What should I do?

    Hello

Please update us with the State of the question. We apologize for the delay in responding

    1. You have a disk to install for Windows 8?
    2. Can you please explain what did you mean by update failed?
    3. Have you an error message when the update failed?

I propose to perform the refresh once more using the Installation of Windows 8 disc, but before to perform updating please follow the procedure below

    Step 1: Repair of drive

One of the best ways that you can check the alteration in the hard is to run a check disk on this subject. Please follow the steps below to repair the disk using the disk check.

    1. Open This PC by hitting on any fly in the Dashboard screen, quilting Search (or if you use a mouse, pointing to the top right of the screen, move the mouse down and then clicking search), recording this PC in the search box, and then tapping or clicking on This PC.
    2. Press on and hold or click the drive that you want to repairand then tap or click Properties.
    3. Tap or click the Tools tab, and then, under error-checking, tap or click check.   You may be prompted for an administrator password or to confirm your choice.
    4. Follow the instructions. You may have to restart your PC after that error checking is complete.

Important: when running chkdsk on the drive hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost.

Step 2: command tool (DISM) deployment image Service and management.

By running this command, we can retrieve or modify information in an image. To run the DISM command, please follow the steps below:

    1. Go to the Windows Start menu.
    2. Type cmd on the keyboard.
    3. Right-click on the program from the command prompt and choose Run as administrator.
    4. The command prompt dialog box.
    5. Type the command Dism.exe / online/cleanup-image/Restore health and press ENTER.
    6. Wait for the command to run which can take about 30 minutes.
    7. After running the command, please try to make the backup of the system.

The above information was hoping to get useful, please return it to us if you need additional assistance.

    1. as you have said several times, you performed the restore, then you have not yet checked the parameter above so defined or not?

    2. I hope that its very easy to understand ENGLISH characters

3 try to correctly set the parameter and size, try again to display the error (since some changes for thread 1 is necessary (hopefully, you gave 123 repeatedly instead of posting of the number of real change in your message))

  • Fail system restore

Im trying to run a system restore to a week ago. Maybe I shouldn't even this, I don't know. I installed a MS update think I tihnk put .net framework 3.5 SP1 for XP Home... since I did that my computer was not working well at all, so I want to go until I did it. I tried to start in a safe environment and then run the restore of the system from there, but I can't seem to run in safe mode. I also tried the system Prop. but all I get is a scroll bar with percentages... and to be honest im not sure to what extent should I go back using the %'s... everything got any ideas?

Another way to access safe mode options is to select Start, run, type msconfig and press the ENTER key. Click the Startup tab and check the box before the secure boot and applies default minimal. If you want another option like networking, you must check the box before Mode network safe. When you have made your selection, you click on apply then OK and restart your computer and the computer starts with the safe mode option. You must uncheck the box to return to the boot in normal mode when you no longer want the computer to boot in safe mode.

When you have a lot of mistakes, how to approach the problem is to determine when to start the session i.e. the system has been started and working forward through the list. Ignore previous sessions. Focus on the system log. View details of errors earlier 4/6. Some errors may be the same, i.e. repeat you don't need to display several copies. Just that it's a mistake to repeat.

What virus protection software is installed. A problematic update does not normally cause several errors. I would check for malware.

Start the computer in safe mode with network and download and install Malwarebytes (free version for individuals only), updated definitions and run in safe mode. Disable other security software while you do the analyses.

  • How can I fix what's wrong with my system restore when it is 'failed' to restore of any "Restore Points?

Well, what is said.  I see all kinds of "restore points", highlighted in the restore calendar page.  But any day or I choose to restore point, the result is the same.  "Unsuccessful system restore" computer is returned to the...  (I don't know how they phrase it exactly, but the key is exactly the way it was when I started with optimism the restore process.)

What is your system brand and model?
What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?
Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..
What is the issue that you are experiencing that you think that the system restore will be remedied (or you are just convenient)?  System Restore is not a time machine.
Some tools Anti Virus 'protect' your system so that they will not allow a restore of the system work properly.
For example, if you use Norton/Symantec products, you will see a message like this:
Restoration incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored...
It is also a popular Symantec problem (well, I'll be polite and call an "undocumented feature"...), they wrote an article about it:
According to what you use for malware protection, you may need to disable the product temporarily, do the system restore and then turn the products light up again when the system restore is complete.
Sometimes you need start your system in Mode safe and so that your protection programs are not running, and then do the system restore.  Tips from Microsoft in some of their articles that if the system restore does not restore your computer, start in Safe Mode, and then run the system restore.  It works for some configurations.
System Restore is sometimes so afflicted or Restore Points are suspicious, the best solution is to reinstall your system restore.  This will remove the old Restore Points, but sometimes it's the only way to fix a broken system restore.  You don't have to reinstall XP, only the part of system restore.
That can leave you with your problem of unspecified origin that you hope the system restore will fix (using a system restore is usually not equivalent to fixing the problem though).
Give these ideas some consideration if they apply to you.
  • Failed to restore at the end despite the use date available (s); Automatic Desktop Cleanup also fails

Restoration has worked previously. Despite trying other dates on different days, the message indicates that it is impossible to perform the restoration or the automatic desktop cleanup

Did not add programs. Home, unique administrator user. Having the backup disk but C: drive was chosen.

Google may have been corrupted; There was a short period when google opened five pages at the same time during a rain storm. No relief. Subsequently, all other programs worked, but Google pages in Word are shifted to the right. Virus and malware to date and used regularly - found nothing.

    OK programs

Some security programs prevent changes to their file and must be configured to allow the restoration of the system work.  For example, if your computer has Norton Antivirus or Norton Internet Security, you must disable Norton product Tamper Protection before you run the system restore. See the documentation of your security program.

If this does not help, try to run the system in safe mode restore.
