Call to the database to fill the page elements

I work in Apex 4.0.

I have a redundancy of the data I want to continue (I know, bad form). I have a table of name and address in which each name has a unique identifier. I have another table where I want the same information to be saved if the unique identifier is the same as the table name and address. Is it possible to recover these data name and address, when the cursor loses focus on the unique identifier page element? What is the kind of thing that will make an AJAX call? If so, how?

Here's a 3.x way to do it via AJAX
http://www.itworkedyesterday.com/blog/2010/2/23/apex_util-ready-set-JSON.html

But as mentioned, you can create dynamic actions and assistants should guide you through most of the obvious options.
That is to say - create an onChange DA that makes a setValue of your element using PL/SQL and so on

  • Problem with the help of the $s javascript function to fill a page element

    Hello Oracle APEX community,

    I work on a page dashboard of exploration down and have been a problem when I try to fill a Page of text (hidden or not) element using javascript built in function $s.
    The feature works very well when the data is a number such as dept_id (even if the field type is varchar type). However, trying to pass what is a text the process fails, unless a value is hardcoded as parameter to the function. So, for example, I have a table with constituents by State counties. I would like to fill out (filter) a table based on when you click a bar for a State without having to submit the page. I use dynamic actions and built in javascript function in the SQL code for the graph to achieve; But even once, it works fine when I use a field varchar as the FIPS code (FIPS for Texas is "48"), but when I try to fill the page element by using the abbreviation of the State "TX" (new varchar), it fails.

    Here is an example of code that works:
    SELECT 'javascript:$s("P1_DEPTNO",'||d.deptno||')' LINK,
    d.dname LABEL,
    sum(e.SAL) sal
    FROM emp e, dept d
    where e.deptno = d.deptno
    group by 'javascript:$s("P1_DEPTNO",'||d.deptno||')', d.dname
    And here is an example of code that does not work:
    SELECT 'javascript:$s("P1_DEPTNO",'||d.loc||')' LINK,
    d.dname LABEL,
    sum(e.SAL) sal
    FROM emp e, dept d
    where e.deptno = d.deptno
    group by 'javascript:$s("P1_DEPTNO",'||d.loc||')', d.dname
    However, when I hard code a value the script text works:
    SELECT 'javascript:$s("P1_DEPTNO","BOSTON")' LINK,
    d.dname LABEL,
    sum(e.SAL) sal
    FROM emp e, dept d
    where e.deptno = d.deptno
    group by 'javascript:$s("P1_DEPTNO","BOSTON")', d.dname
    ORDER BY d.dname
    I encounter this problem on several versions of the APEX: (4.0.2.00.07 - local installation) and (4.1.0.00.28 - apex.oracle.com)

    Does anyone know of this problem and how to solve? I have looked for the parameters of the element of the page itself and can not understand.
    I rewrote my sql to use the fields of value of my tables instead, but I have a few objects on the page that will really depend on the data of base characters instead.

    Thank you
    Wayne

    In your javascript that you generate, surround your value with quotes and it will then should always work with the numbers and strings (your channels are probably interpreted as variable names and that they do not exist when running, so slip out).

    Example:

    SELECT 'javascript:$s("P1_DEPTNO","'||d.loc||'")' LINK,

  • Result passage of PL/SQL code for the page element

    Hello

    I have created a process in after the header to fill data to the page of the form elements.  The pl/sql code is like bellows.  Then I got the error message:

    ORA-06502: PL/SQL: digital or value error: character number conversion

    My question is that I do not see the difference in format between the page element and block pl/sql variables (e.g. : P31_STUDY_ID vs v_P31_STUDY_ID), they are either numeric or text field (in fact I have hidden field, but don't see conversion back to the digital field solved the problem).  And don't see needs to set the format mask.  Is there another way to detect the column that causes the problem, or if there is a syntax error with my assignment (from the variable element on the page)?  Thank you very much!

    You should use point demand for it and an application process to fill

    IF :APP_ITEM_NAME IS NULL THEN
      APEX_UTIL.SET_SESSION_STATE('APP_ITEM_NAME','myvalue');
    END IF;

    Hello

    you set the value of the 'Page elements to submit' to P29_PURCHASE_ORDER?

    Then, the SQL statement would use the current selected value.

    This is the help text says: "specify a list separated by commas of the elements of the page that will be submitted to the server and therefore available for use in your"SQL statement"," PL/SQL Expression"or"Body of the PL/SQL function".»

    Depends on what is the type of page element - for text/no Select something like:

    function setValue(){
      $x('P1_FIELD').value = 'Oracle';
    }

    For a select element, something like this:

    function setSelectValue(){
      html_setSelectValue('P1_SELECT', 'Oracle');
    }

  • LOVs using cascading on the Page elements with values exceeding 4000 characters

    A few days ago, I asked a question on the community, but it turned out that there was something wrong with my account and they have removed the item, so I'll just post the solution I found here now:

    Well, I found a way to use LOVs cascading on page elements with values exceeding 4000 characters:

    Let's say I have a shuttle named P1_ORGANISATIE with "List of values" box, a dynamic LOV named "Source: lists of values Query" containing the value:

    Select NAAM as display_value, ID like return_value

    of NINEHAM

    order by 1

    If the number of records-NINEHAM is insufficient, the length of the value of P1_ORGANISATIE, which is a list of concatenated with colon separated digital ID, can exceed 4000 characters.

    Now, suppose I have a list of selection called P1_TEST that is connected through "List of values"-> "Cascading LOV Parent article (s)" with P1_ORGANISATIE, using a named LOV dynamic with "Source: lists of values Query" containing:

    Select distinct TST. NAAM as display_value, TST.ID as return_value

    of the OTE NINEHAM

    Join the AFDELINGEN ADG ON (ADG. OTE_ID = OTE.ID)

    Join the DEELNEMERS DNR ON (DNR. ADG_ID = ADG.ID)

    Join TESTDEELNEMERS TDR WE (TDR. DNR_ID = DNR.ID)

    Join TESTEN TST ON (TST.ID = RDT. TST_ID)

    where instr (":" |: P1_ORGANISATIE |) '':'', '':'' || OTE.ID | :'') > 0

    order by 1

    In this case, when P1_ORGANISATIE exceeds 3998 characters, you'll get an "ORA-01704: string literal too long"-error and the P1_TEST will show an element called "undefined".

    A way around this is possible because for a named LOV, you can use a "function that returns a sql query" instead of a simple sql query. In other words, we can apply in the context of PL/SQL and thus have maximum for expressions of 32767 instead of 4000 characters. In addition, it is possible to use the two APEX_UTIL. STRING_TO_TABLE and APEX_COLLECTION.

    Setting "Source: lists of query values" on the LOV appointed to P1_TEST with the following code will work:

    DECLARE

    l_selected APEX_APPLICATION_GLOBAL. VC_ARR2;

    l_qry varchar2 (32767): =.

    "Select distinct TST. NAAM as display_value, TST.ID as return_value

    of the OTE NINEHAM

    Join the AFDELINGEN ADG ON (ADG. OTE_ID = OTE.ID)

    Join the DEELNEMERS DNR ON (DNR. ADG_ID = ADG.ID)

    Join TESTDEELNEMERS TDR WE (TDR. DNR_ID = DNR.ID)

    Join TESTEN TST ON (TST.ID = RDT. TST_ID)

    $1

    order by 1';

    BEGIN

    IF: P1_ORGANISATIE IS NULL

    OR LENGTH(:P1_ORGANISATIE) < = 4000

    THEN RETURN

    Replace (l_qry

    ,'$1'

    ,' where instr (":" |: P1_ORGANISATIE |) '':'', '':'' || OTE.ID | :'') > 0'

    );

    ON THE OTHER

    l_selected: = APEX_UTIL. STRING_TO_TABLE(:P1_ORGANISATIE);

    APEX_COLLECTION. CREATE_OR_TRUNCATE_COLLECTION (p_collection_name = > 'ORGANISATIE_COLLECTIE');

    FOR id IN 1.l_selected.count

    LOOP

    APEX_COLLECTION.add_member (p_collection_name = > 'ORGANISATIE_COLLECTIE')

    , p_n001 = > to_number (l_selected (id))

    );

    END LOOP;

    RETURN

    Replace (l_qry

    ,'$1'

    ,'join apex_collections ON APC (APC. COLLECTION_NAME = "ORGANISATIE_COLLECTIE" AND APC. N001 = OTE.ID)"

    );

    END IF;

    END;

  • Reading of the Page element only from option buttons

    Apex 4.2

    I have a page apex with a group of radio buttons and a text box. I try to have a user click on one of the radio buttons and the text box is read-only, depending on which is selected.

    P101_RAD_BTNS

    P101_TXT_BOX

    There are two buttons in the radio button group: active and inactive. If the user clicks on the 'Inactive' button, the text box (P101_TXT_BOX) becomes read-only. If the user then clicks on the "Active" button, the bbox text is no longer read-only.

    I tried to do this with a dynamic action, but it's not exaclty an option "read only". I tried to use "enable / disable", but it did not work. I thought to try some kind of javascript function, but I'm not sure of the syntax.

    Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Assuming that the values of your P101_RAD_BTNS are for Active and N for inactive, I would call a JavaScript function custom event onchange dynamic Action on P101_RAD_BTNS.

    When:

    Event: change

    Selection type: item (s)

    Product (s): P101_RAD_BTNS

    Condition: No strings attached

    Action: Run the JavaScript Code

    Fire on loading the Page: false

    Code: f_setReadOnly (this.triggeringElement.id);

    function f_setReadOnly(pID){
      $val = $v(pID);
      if ($val == 'N') {
        $("#P101_TXT_BOX").attr("readonly",true).css("background-color", "#d9d9d9");
      } else {
        $("#P101_TXT_BOX").attr("readonly",false).css("background-color", "");
      }
    }

  • Checking the referential integrity of a form before the presentation of the Page element

    Hi, OTN,.

    I have a form on a table with multiple columns, some of which are foreign keys to other tables. Rather than validate the columns for referential integrity when the user inserts/changes in shape, I would use a dynamic action to attract the attention of the user with a javascript alert() when the user loses focus of the element. After a user enters a value into the text box and moves to the next item, I want to be able to query the table, check the existence of the value of the user and issue a javascript alert() if there is no match.

    What is the best way to go about this?

    I created a dynamic action-to run PL/SQL code on one of the elements of the page, with a code similar to the following:

    DECLARE
    rf_check varchar2 (30);
    BEGIN
    SELECT col1 INTO table_a FROM rf_check
    WHERE col1 =: P1_ITEM_FK;
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN NO_DATA_FOUND THEN
    HTP.p ("< script type =" text/javascript"> ');
    HTP.p ("alert ("ERROR");");
    HTP.p ("< /script >" ");
    END;

    I could not get the dynamic action of delivering javascript. Any thoughts?

    I have to admit that I've never tried, but I would be surprised if Javascript back via statements made htp.p that they are actually executed by the browser.

    I would do something like that, by a dynamic action that calls an application process. The PL/SQL procedure request would return via htp.p OK or ERROR. From this result, the javascript would determine to issue the alert. Something like the following (not fully tested):

    Javascipt

     var get = new htmldb_Get(null,html_GetElement('pFlowId').value, 'APPLICATION_PROCESS=FK_CHECK',0);
     var fk_check = get.get();

     if (fk_check=='ERROR')
      {
       alert('ERROR');
      }

    Application Process FK_CHECK

    DECLARE
      rf_check varchar2(30);
    BEGIN
      SELECT col1 INTO rf_check FROM table_a
      WHERE col1 = :P1_ITEM_FK;
      HTP.p('OK');
    EXCEPTION
      WHEN NO_DATA_FOUND THEN
         HTP.p('ERROR');
    END;

  • Assign value APEX URL of the page to the redirect of the page element

    Hello
    I have the following hard coded URL routing traffic on page 10:
    href = "f? p = & APP_ID.:10: & SESSION. ::: 10 : »

    However, now I have logic to determine the button of the page which should route traffic and I'm storing in a Page element called P6_PAGE_ROUTE (the value is 10 or 23). How can I get the URL to direct traffic based on the value in P6_PAGE_ROUTE? I did some research and I've tried using the & P6_PAGE_ROUTE. but it does not work:

    href = "f? p = & APP_ID.: & P6_PAGE_ROUTE. : & SESSION. : & P6_PAGE_ROUTE. : »

    Thanks in advance for any help!

    URL addresses by passing the values generally have this format:

    href = "f? p = & APP_ID.: & P6_PAGE_ROUTE. : & SESSION. : ITEM1, ITEM2, ITEM3:VALUE1, VALUE2, VALU3

    Where,
    Question 1 has value 1
    question 2 has value 2
    and point 3A of value 3

    So the stuff LHS of the *: * must be the name of a page element

    + PS: Ensure no space after the comma as its URL. I fell for the first time and it is difficult to meet. +

    -There's that several other elements of the application located in PROC_2, and they are all correct.

    Any ideas as to why this is happening? It seems like it should be
    quite simple: set the value, send page, the value must be that

    Hello

    Exhibition (doesnot save session state), I am not changing who is P1_MESSAGE_1.

    Why does that matter? Why does the hidden item behave differently?

    Yes, Hidden Items by usually default state saves. But this isn't the problem in this case because I had changed the item to display only (state saved) and that did not help. Finally back in doesnot save state.

    Try to replace alert (ajaxResponse); with the lines below

    $s('P1_MESSAGE_1',ajaxResponse);
    alert($v('P1_MESSAGE_1'));

    Maybe the session state is defined (server), but the value in the DOM HTML (browser) to P1_MESSAGE_1 is not defined. If adding the line above works then the hypothesis is correct.

    And I see that you made the source "static" assignment ...

    Yes, I made this change, because it was a reference in itself I think it was redundant. And I had to correct what I thought is not just before debugging. Which cannot be linked to the problem though.

    Kind regards
