  You're still on 10gR 1, so even when NVARCHAR2 is used, when you insert characters, these are first converted into WE8ISO8859P1, which does not support Arabic.

  If the Time Capsule and MacBook Pros are not on the same network, the MacBook is not backup in the time Capsule. You probably see what snapshots leaving MacBook on the local disk, until the two are reconnected. If you don't want that to happen, disable Time Machine on a different network.

  Have you checked system-> Sound-> output preferences to see if you can select the HDMI output?

  Start the trainer and Simulator menu select "simulate / GPS location.

  You will probably need to add your location to the list of locations "simulations". Go to google maps, find your location and save the lat/lon values.

  Be sure to only select a device/Simulator that supports GPS

  Hi, I hope someone could help me with a possible upgrade of Windows XP Win8.1.  I ran the upgrade of Windows 8 Wizard and he told me almost instantly that "this platform is not supported" and gives no clue about all the problems.  I checked the system requirements and my PC seems to meet the minimum requirements, then I would be grateful for any advice that can be offered to solve this problem.

  My system components are:

  -AMD Athlon 64 X 2 6000 +.

  -4 GB of RAM

  -Lots of space drive (2 TB, RAID 0 + 1) - space usable 1 TB HARD drive.  System drive (c :)) is on another partition of 30 GB.

  -Card graphics GeForce 7950GT - just installed the latest NVIDIA drivers (I think!), but not sure WDDM.

  OK, last comment from me on this thread.  I successfully upgraded to Win XP SP3 for Windows 8.1.  Despite the 8.1 Windows Upgrade Assistant stating 'this platform supprted no' 8.1 installation went completely smoothly - so not hardware issues at all.

  For anyone who stumbles across this thread...

  When you try to upgrade XP to Win 8, "This platform not supported" means that you are not running XP service pack 3.  See "Tip #4"--> here http://www.zdnet.com/8-lessons-learned-from-upgrading-a-dog-slow-xp-machine-to-windows-8-7000021125/

• I recently started getting the message "error - blocked site" on some sites that use to work. Can anyone suggest why this might be, please?

  I don't have the same problem if you are using Opera as a browser, however, I am aware that ISPS have blocked some sites in the United Kingdom due to a decision of the Court and wonder if it is the cause. The message only started to appear since I read about this decision. Is there a list somewhere that shows which sites are legally blocked in the United Kingdom? I can then excluded of this in or out as the cause.

  Installed VMPlayer 3.0-12 2010, but do not think I have VMTools.  When you try to install VMTools, get this message, "the VMware Tools installation cannot be started manually easy install is in progress. Don't know how to solve /finish easy install or check if VMTools is actually installed.

  I've been running linux Unbuntu (Karmic Koala) as the operating system called Windows XP, SP3 and the recent difficulties in file sharing.  Hoping VMTools will help with file sharing.
