Can I backup/back up messages in OE in clusters a disck?

My 'collection' in Outlook Express email becomes big enough and I want to move them to a directory on my documents folder and save them on a cd. It seems that every email must be saved individually to do this. With this many emails that would be very would take a lot of time. I would like to select all and move them to a directory/folder on the mail program, or burn them on a CD, but in boots, as I said.

In addition, should they be saved as e-mail files or can they be saved as WOrd files for easier access later?

Not a crisis, but any help would save me a lot of time and effort! Thank you.

You can save an entire folder as a dbx file. But only OE can open (see www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx) or my DBXpress extraction program (www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/). Otherwise my program OEX (www.oehelp.com/OEX/) will prevent the messages from folders in the form of eml files.

You can save the messages together with OEQB database (free - www.oehelp.com/OEBackup/).

The thing to worry about is the size of the individual dbx file. If they get more than a few hundred megabytes, so you need to get out new messages and compact files to reduce the size. Otherwise, you can have about as many folders as you want. But often, save them as OE is very sensitive to corruption of messages.

DRS VM affinity/anti-affinity rules - these are lost when the DRS is off - they can be "listed" via perl or script Toolkit VI to return to manual if necessary.
But can they be backed up / restored through automated methods for easy recovery in case required or accidental deactivation of the DRS? What happens if a user of vCenter turns off instead of the manual setting during operations?
I have over 100 + VM DRS affinity/anti-affinity rules to maintain.

There are indeed several DRS rules related cmdlets in the VITK 1.5.

The following script will save all rules in a .txt file.

iMessages are pushed by the iMessages servers to devices recorded at this time there.

I have Windows XP, using Outlook Express, and I accidently deleted all the emails to the breast of one of my files, and then click permanently delete also. Yes, I was tired and probably should wait until later, but here I am. lesson learned.

If you use XP/SP2 or SP3, and are fully patched, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. You can try to search for *.eml, but if the disk has been formatted first, they will not be there. The files are also hidden, so make sure that you enable the display of hidden files and folders under control panel | Folder options | View. Since you just upgraded it, please try to remove instead and then reinstalling BBM fresh and clean. Make sure you first backup (locally) your contacts:
