Can I collect videos with an error code e:31:00?

I dropped my Handycam SR68 and now I get an E:31:00 error code. I want to retrieve my videos. Help!

To resolve this issue, try the following steps:
Turn off the camcorder.
Remove the battery or disconnect the AC adapter for 60 seconds.
Insert the battery or reconnect the AC adapter.
Connect the camcorder.

You can also try the camcorder reset to the factory settings by pressing the RESET button, near the touch screen / LCD screen of the unit.     I'm running a vista 32 nome. I noticed that my windows update will always try to updated. some things get updtaed however more security updates are not. they all have an error code 80242014. the last update for vista (kb981332) worked and updated but there are 12 others that are still pending. It is the list of all updates on hold with this error code.  KB973917 KB975561, KB908182, KB978338 KB977816, KB978601, KB981349, KB979683, KB980232, KB980182.

    I don't know what it takes in this respect can someone please advise.

    After doing the clean install, do NOT connect any such player to the computer until you've taken care of everything in my previous post (especially KB971029 manually install).

    Before you transfer the data saved on your main drive, run a full scan of the system on data using your anti-virus/anti-spyware applications freshly installed & updated updated (and perhaps this scan online: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/whatsnew.htm).

    If the problem is specific to this particular update, I suggest you to refer to the article below and run the FIXIT mentioned in method 2 tool and perform the steps mentioned there. If you are not able to install some other updates as well, I suggest you to perform all the above troubleshooting methods.

    Update works fine until yesterday. Microsoft tool ran (no change), reloaded Windows Update (no change), a tool for malware own virus check comes to nothing. Any ideas?

    Since it is a Dell computer, chances are a Norton or McAfee free trial is preinstalled. When you have done the clean install, the free trialware would have ALSO reinstalled (but not valid now).  Let's see if the execution of two removal tools & a few tweaks resolves the behavior.

    So I tried to download KB979482 here:

    However, when I try this, Windows Update Standalone install displays the message"this update does apply to your system."

    I can live with that (if the message is actually true). But if if this patch does not apply to my system, then why Windows Update keep trying to install it as an update 'important '? How can I get off the list so that the Windows Update log is not cluttered with all of the failed attempts?   Finally, I ran Windows Update Fixit tool available.  He fixed a couple of things (default location, another minor config) but not this problem.

    P.S. running BitDefender 2012 if it matters...

    To answer my own question, you can reset the status of the following method KB2509997 8 download and rename the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution. It would be nice if there was a less force brute to do this, because she loses all your update story and settings, but at least it works.

    I have a problem, the system is vista home basic. Windows can't check for updates 80244019 error code. I have read many of the forms and ran from bugs that I found from microsoft. Further investigation indicates the RPC and DCOM service Launcher are grayed out and cannot be started or stoped.   Registry settings look good for the RPC service.  The DCOM service depends on RPC service.  In the GUI at the same time say they are started but from the comand prompt, I run the command net start and neither one is registered as running.  Any help would be appreciated.

    One solution is to use the sfc command. Here are the better instructions that they provide:

    Go to start / programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt and click Run as administrator.

    Type sfc/scannow, and then enter. Let the program run - it check out some of your system files and fix them.  If all goes well it will be completed without error, he couldn't fix it (if it doesn't, check the log which can be interpreted using the following guidelines: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228).

    To get the Windows Installer Cleanup utility (if necessary), go to: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301.
