Can I connect my ipad to a type of ordinary boom box and play music through the speakers?  The boom box has an audio jack.  So would simply use a 3.5 mm plug going both ways?

I have an ipad4.  Can I connect it to a boom box type device to listen to music on the speakers of the box.   using an RCA type plug/plug?

The iPad lacks a RCA type connector. You can connect from your headphones to an auxiliary, if it works with the headphone jack.
