  Hello. I have a new digital camera Im using. When I load the photos on my computer Im having to convert the CR2 photo in jpeg format in order to open them. I use Windows to do this. At first it was working fine. I went to the file to make a copy and then save to a different file name and move to the jpeg format, press save. He did it for the first two. Now I am receiving and error message that it cannot save the file. I tried to do a repair program (did not work) I tried simply restart the computer, then it will save 1 then the same message.   Your device is set to use prorietary format known as CR2 Canon RAW image. Without getting too technical, the RAW images have the advantage of being 'more real' image by your cameras sensor.   Lightroom 4 will never be updated to your compatible device.  You can download the DNG Converter and convert the CR2 files to DNG, that would be compatible with Lr4.
