Can I delete folder AppData Roaming?

Original title: AppData Roaming folder

I moved (copy) the AppData Roaming folder on an external drive using the Windows tool in the Panel properties (location tab). Can I now he remove it from my C drive? It takes 10 GB of space and I am running low in the space on my C drive. Running Win 7.

My hard drive is divided into C and d. lecteurC operating system (primarily) and other things/stuff I can't control. All my programs are in D.

"What the system did, he made a copy of the entire folder to the new location of the itinerant, but left the old one in the same place."

Is the current folder, the 'real' Roaming folder, or shortcuts in the "library"?
The 'real' case should have been moved, and that would create a 'library' in the process.

You could try an experiment (assuming that you don't talk to libraries).
Rename the Roaming folder or create a new subfolder in the folder of homelessness and
Move all existing files/sub-sub-sub-folders in it.
Create a new subfolder is perhaps the best option to avoid Windows, create another folder Roaming.
-If you have problems with the software that uses that data and then move the files back in the
original file of Roaming.

You wouldn't make a lot of disk space HARD that moving the issue of homelessness.
I believe that most people move the folder of the user, or music, videos and photos files if they have
a lot of these files, when requiring more disk space.

  • What can delete folder AppData?

The AppData folder has three subfolders: roaming, Local, and LocalLow.  The folder uses 10 GB on my drive.  I use CCleaner on several occasions.  I can delete all subfolders?

Some information about the folder AppData here - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/what-appdata-folder it is true that for Windows 8/8.1.

Note of the warning - "we do not recommend move, delete or make changes to the files or folders in the folder AppData.» Doing so could make your applications work wrong or stop working entirely. "

Aside from maybe to delete the temporary files, I personally not would around delete files "at random". 10 GB seems a little high compared to the record of my account which is about 4.4 GB, but I guess that depends on what you have installed and running on your PC. My 4.4 GB about 4 GB is Local, the other two records show 200MB (approximately).

I hope that someone will be able to give you specific advice if the above does not help.

  • I do not have a folder AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom.

I have a problem. A software, I uninstalled some time ago, Adware, quarantined my AppData folder any Lightroom was not installing in the AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom. Everything is in Roaming is Microsoft.

The problem is that I want to install the files of brushes and this should be the place to paste them. Is there another place or any other method. I already tried to reinstall Lightroom twice, but still, it does not create a folder \Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom.

    Any ideas?

The OS Windows and other software cannot run properly without the AppData folder and all of the subfolders under him. So, it is there. Your problem is more than likely Windows it is hidden from your view. In Control Panel select Options of folders on the view tab, check "Show readers, hidden folders and files" under hidden files and folders.

Then uncheck the "Hide files of the operating system (recommended) protected".

While your in this dialog, you can also uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types".

Now when you access your C:\Users\YourUserName username folder you should see the AppData folder.

  • can I delete folder seen in iPhoto? What is the effect.

I'm trying to save some memory and see the 3 types of shirts: thumbnails, previews and the masters. I tried to read some of the forums on this topic but none doesn't make clear what exactly does the previews and that I have effects and consequences will happen if I delete it. Its a very significant amount of space and I need save space on my 232 GB SSD hard drive.

Thanks in advance for any guidance...
    Skip

Previews are smaller JPEGs of the edited versions of your photos in your photo library system for sharing with other applications using the media browser.

And I see in this folder all the edition results returned by photo editing extensions.

When I tried to remove previews of this folder, pictures for Mac app just recreated them. I wouldn't count on that, however, that the Photos can solve this problem, if you voluntarily change the library.  It won't do any good to try to remove previews. It will just slow down Photos,

If you need to record on your SSD storage move the pictures to a hard drive external portable library. This will give you plenty of storage for your photos.

  • I can't reinstall firefox, I get the error 'Could not load profile' and not a solution I found works. / Appdata/roaming/mozilla folder is not accessible.

I'm on Win7 64 bit. Initially, I uninstalled because a program has changed my page of the new tab to something unwanted and I literally had no way to change this back. Now, every time I reinstall, I get the error "cannot load the profile, it may be missing or unreachable", and I can't create a new profile. Whenever I try to any method of opening the profile editor, I get the error 'Could not load profile' then too. I can't access the folder in/appdata/roaming/mozilla at all. It is said it is accessable and access is denied, and tries to remove it tells me I have not permission (even if I'm the admin). No other difficulty I saw worked. Can someone help, please?

I have done a virus scan, cleaned up one piece of adware, rebooted, and it worked all of a sudden. I don't know what exactly caused to start working, but he did, so I consider this issue closed.

  • I can the AppData-roaming junction folder to another drive?

    Hello.

I have a boot drive for Win 7 (C drive) that contains the victory and apps. It is only 250 GB.
I also have a normal hard disk (I call it V unit) to which I moved "my music, documents, etc." C drive using the shell: UsersFilesFolder and using the location under Properties tab.
I'm a gamer and use steam. I installed Steam on my hard disk (disk V)so that she and it's games install instead of my C drive. Most of the games to cooperate.

    Here's my problem:

By experience, I know that a huge game like Empire Total War (Sega - The Creative Assembly) will not install a folder on my drive V next to the steam, but also on the C drive, less AppData/roaming!
My old PC, I know that the folder created by "The Creative Assembly" on my drive C under folder Roaming will move from a simple 2 MB to a gigantic 20 GB in one year, once I have start saving the game etc!

I did some research moving of the roaming folder and also make a junction. I also watched in travel "the creative assembly" folder or to a junction for that.

The two methods has supporters and opponents. There are opportunities for instabilities etc. There is also a chance that everything will work properly.

    What do you recommend?
If there is a method that you recommend, how do you propose that I go about it? I need some measures to ensure that it works correctly.
If I create a junction, it will show as a 'shortcut' on my C drive? Will be the folder on drive C, and then grow in size as well as the 'main' folder I have logged in my V reader?

    Thank you.

  • I have Windows 7 and appdata\roaming\wifea.dll folder has been deleted because of a virus. Now, I am unable to do the updates. Is it possible to replace?

    Windows 7
    C:\users\user\appdata\roaming\wifea.dll

It is generally not a file called this in Windows 7.  It was most likely part of the infection that you had.

  • Why is there the databases for two Web sites in my appdata roaming default firefox profile folder?

    Www.fling.com _ C:\Users\user\appdata\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\i4unw84s.default\databases\http_

                                                                                                                                                                          C:\Users\user\appdata\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\i4unw84s.default\databases\https_cashier.bovada.lv_

Two of these databases of site are 64 KB and io_temp.sqlite files. I want to know how they were created and what information is that are stored there. I know that my boyfriend goes to the website of bovada much, but want to know if he has information of personal connection stored for two of these sites. I know that they are not cookies because I saw the list of cookies and delete the and these files are still there. I really want to know if the only way that the sites Web could be in the folder because he saved intentionally information stored on these sites and if not, then why they are part of a roaming profile?

Hello, I could not find any documentation on what the data in the profile or an io_temp.sqlitefolder - file would do in firefox (perhaps it was a first version of dom storage or indexeddb).
If you have questions about the use of these sites by your boyfriend, you should probably talk with him directly about this, instead of finding an answer in this way...

In the Search box, type reliability . Click performance monitor , and then click Reliability Monitor . Click on July 6 and see if everything installs is recorded. You can check the previous days if it was something you have installed and has not used immediately.

  • I can't put one of my photos as a background. It comes up with 'The file that c:\users\daniel\appdata\roaming\microsoft\windows Photo Gallery\Windows Photo Gallery wallpaper.jpg could not be written. Please help me.

Hi, I have problems on developing an image as a wallpaper on my laptop.

It comes up with 'The file that c:\users\daniel\appdata\roaming\microsoft\windows Photo Gallery\Windows Photo Gallery wallpaper.jpg could not be written.

I tried right click and do it the long way to go to appearance and personalization in the control panel in the start menu. None of these work and I wonder why it's happening.

my computer is Windows vista Home premium and is about half a year. If anyone knows how to solve the problem of it not allow me to set a background please give me suggestions.

    Dan

Treat it as a corrupted user file.  To fix this usehttp://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile.  Use the new administrator account to do this.  Follow the directions given and everything will be fine and your new admin account should work normally.  Once you have ccnfired you can access, to all your acccess all of your programs and files, you can delete the old user obsolete and corrupt.

That's all there is to it.  Now that we know, this is the profile and not the system, the solution has been set for us.

I hope this helps. Feel free to post back with any questions as you go along.

  • 7 AppData Roaming system fills in my C: drive. How can I manage or move?

I have a 60 GB SSD for my system disk. Recently, the car started to fill it completely with unknown files. I traced the size of the file to Users\nom_utilisateur\Appdata\Roaming which has some 14 GB of unknown data.

To minimize the data on the C: drive space, the following data has been diverted to the E: drive

    7 system recovery backups

    Data

4 GB released when I changed the parameters of backups to 'keep only the last image system and reduce the space used by backups.

    What fills this folder?

    Thank you for your support.

There is also another free utility, you can try also, named folder size

Also, who's going to identify exactly where your disk space is getting used.
If it is unknown, recent activity, I would also consider running a malware like Malwarebyteschecker. Malware likes to live in app, easy access user data files!
  • The files and folders in C:\Users\PC\AppData\Local\Temp can be deleted (Windows 7)?

The files and folders in C:\Users\PC\AppData\Local\Temp can be deleted (Windows 7)?

It is generally safe. Applications do not normally permanently store files there. If you're worried, use disk cleanup (cleanmgr) to clear the TEMP folder. By default, disk cleanup does not remove the files/folders that have been accessed in the last 7 days.

    Mr President.

When I deploy my application adf on wls integrated 12 c it gives two links, one for the war and the other for the ear.

But when I go on the path

Where to find my ear to appl adf file? Impossible to find in the C:\Users\TANVIR\AppData\Roaming\JDeveloper\system12.1.3.0.41.140521.1008\o.j2ee\drs\AshCMS folder

    There is no ear file.

    How to find it.

    Concerning

To my knowledge there is no generation of ear for internal deployment. This implied.

You can create a click with the right button on the application and select deployment there.

The descriptor to adapt to the era of deployment is created automatically if you have created the application via the application template web merger.
