can I downgrade from windows Vista Basic to windows xp home sem

I have windows vista home basic system. can I go down to windows xp home edition.

Hello

There is NO right to downgrade from Vista Home Basic to XP.

You need Vista Business or Vista ultimate for this.

If you want XP, see if your computer manufacturer has XP drivers available for your laptop computer/computer model.

If the XP drivers are available for this purpose, Microsoft sells more than XP, so you should have to take the risk of buying a pirated software on the Net, which is not recommended at all.

If there is no XP drivers, XP would not work correctly in all cases.

See you soon.

    Hello

You can buy a license of Windows 7 64-bit.  Buy external DVD media.

You can find the HP Windows 7 64 bit drivers posted here.

This document will instruct you on how to disable the UEFI mode and the mode of inheritance.

Don't forget to create the external HP recovery media before attempting to change the BIOS settings and installing Windows 7.

  • Can I downgrade from Windows 7 Starter to Windows XP Professional

QUESTIONS: 1) can I demote a machine Win7 Starter purchased through package of retail full license, never installed, XP Pro OS?  Assume that both are 32-bit.  I was thinking of buying one of these netbooks cheap in Walmart stores that are Windows 7 upgrade option to Windows 8 (which I do not wish to use), and experiment.  If Win7 is proving to be as disastrous as I wait, I want to install a new copy of the new detail of full XP Pro including Service Pack 3 (which has never been installed on any computer), to downgrade from Windows 7. I've never used in triplicate.
The machine is Acer Aspire One with Windows 7 Starter edition, on sale at Walmart for only $228.  They have other editions of Windows, I could buy instead, if the Starter Edition is not eligible for a downgrade.
    2) do you anticipate problems of license?  Do not talk about compatibility, as that varies depending on the machine.  It's just that the installation with MS products is always also annoying complicated and always associated with a licensing problem.  I can't guess at what these problems are, they are never what I expect.  Where the question.
Backstory: I am wary of XP Professional updating to Windows 7, due to the many people experience incompatibilities.  I ran the Win7 Upgrade Advisor, and he has not yet detected what third-party software was running on my machine in his analysis, other than common programs of MS and stuff from the internet.  So I have ZERO faith it will be compatible with my XP software current and material, so 32-bit (which I use now), or 64-bit (which one of my machines can take in charge, but instead, 32-bit XP Prof OS is installed and running).
It cost me about $100K of my time to switch to XP, in 2005; I just went through two own XP installed on two of my other machines.  Recovery was not possible.  Cost me three months of my life, these facilities.  Wouldn't do it again.  It is unnecessarily complex.
So I have to check the effectiveness of Win7.  And if she is not enough justify using, as I hope - I have a lot of detail that new (well, once again) never used XP Professional OS bought in a store, that I can use to downgrade.  ("not OEM, not upgrade or academic, etc. so the full XP license is valid for each packet.)  I understand very well that support ends in April 2014 and don't care if it stops.  What I care about is running my business that threatens to Win7, because it changes the interface and eliminates a bunch of features that have been very productive in XP Pro.
Of course, my impressions have not been tested on a live installation.  ERGO this post.  For me, it's a $100,000 decision, because it is the cost of my time if I deploy Win7.  Sorry for ranting, but I need to explain the reasons for downgrading in context.  Thank you for your time!

I guess I do not understand you. If you have a version of Xp retail packaging, you can install it on any computer you want. Nothing MS or anyone else can say about it.

As others have noted you might encounter a driver for some of your hardware problem is not not compatible wth Xp. The only way to know for sure, or I should say the best way, is to install Xp and discover.

If it was me I would make sure that the computer has a restore disk or a partition to reinstall Win 7 if Xp didn't work. If none of those who were present I would clone the drive hard while Win 7 was still about this. Better safe than sorry.

Finally, I would make sure that I got a usb Ethernet card so that you could make sure you have the ability to connect when the net card driver was not installed with Xp...

original title: Downgrade from windows 7 to XP

If you have an HP computer with Windows 7 pre-installed,

    (a) you will not be able to find the drivers for your computer hardware for XP (except if you bought your computer, just like Windows 7 was spilled) - even if you could find somehow a copy of XP to install and

    (b) any person at HP who told you to contact Microsoft won't - HP is obliged by its license from Microsoft to provide you with a mechanism (it doesn't have to be physical CDs) to reinstall the operating system that was on the computer when you bought it.

  • Satellite A200-1AD - downgrade from Windows XP Home edition

I've read all the other different threads around the upgrade/downgrade to XP, but I have a few questions.

    1. What do I need to change the BIOS before I start to replace Vista by XP or can I wait until I loaded the base XP and then make the BIOS change?

    2. If I try and update the BIOS for XP and it crunches the laptop is covered by the warranty?

If the 2 answer is Yes, then I'll save a step by step process that I do to change the operating system from Vista to XP. Any help much appreciated.

    Hello Ken

All I know is some BIOS designed for Windows XP Home edition for computer series laptop Satellite A200. I installed Windows XP Home edition on my A200 but some FN keys do not work properly. Other stuff works well and WXP turns quite quickly.

I recommend installing WXP without updated BIOS to see if there is a serious problem. If this is not the case, leave such BIOS what.

  • Satellite U400-10 has: Downgrade from Windows XP Home edition

I got my laptop U400-10 for XP. Few things left pending:

    1. How can I get the LED on the top of the screen (and Satellite/power LED) to decrease intensity again by pressing the LED light on the top of the screen? Worked under vista. Cannot run Windows XP Home edition. Probably a Toshiba driver... but the Witch one?

    2. I get a Device Manager question mark in front of audio storage devices and mass HD. I checked the internet and it seems related to the HDMI port. But how to fix it? I can't identify the right Toshiba drivers on the page/download driver Toshiba.

    3. How can I get Bluetooth (with the standard windows drivers)? Bluetooth Monitor driver Toshiba form doesn't seem to work.

    Thanks for the replies.

    Hello

(1.) I think you could turn on and off the LED of Illumination in the BIOS.
But maybe it s not supported under Win XP.

    (2) some features are not supported by XP. This unit is probably the module of Robson former Turbo Memory. This material will be supported only by Windows Vista so there is no driver Windows XP.

    (3) possibly you have ONLY installed the BT monitor. It is a diagnostic utility, and if you want to use BT you need a driver of BT.
The BT driver can be downloaded from the page of the portal of BT or driver Toshiba

  • Downgrade from Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit to 32 bit

    Hello

I have a Pavilion tx1215nr that is currently running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. My laptop has 1 GB of RAM. I find my laptop slow, I think that the reason is that 64-bit requires 2 GB of RAM. There is no RAM upgrade for this model. So I wonder if there is anyway I can downgrade to the 32-bit version.

If it is not could you send add a download link to windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit download, as it was the previous operating system

    Thank you

    Hello

You must do a clean Windows 7 32 bit install - if you bought the retail version of Windows 7, it will have come with 32-bit and 64-bit installation discs.  The same activation key will work for both versions.

    Kind regards

By default the BIOS settings and try to reinstall Windows XP Home edition recovery image.

  • DOWNGRADE FROM WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM TO XP HOME

Can I install a fresh copy of Windows XP Edition to replace Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade family?  If so, the XP upgrade disk will allow for a full and clean install in the process without problems?  The XP disc I am wanting to use seems to have no service pack included.  Just the original 2002 version.

    Thank you!!

The drive to upgrade XP (without Service Pack) requires that, during installation, you insert a disc Windowqs 98 or Windows ME to complete the installation and the XP active. For XP Professional Windows 2000 disk is also acceptable.

Also, be aware that it may not be the device drivers XP available for your brand and model of the computer according to how old he was. If you built the computer yourself check the web site of the manufacturer of the motherboard to support to download the XP drivers.

    Hello

First thing to do is to make sure that XP drivers are available for your model computer.

Search drivers XP here model number: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html

Then, buy a XP disk and license. You will have to search in online stores (beware of scams, piracy!), for old copies computer stores, etc.

Then, if you can buy XP, perform a new installation of XP, Vista operating system cut the hard during the XP installation.

  • Can I downgrade from Windows Vista to Windows XP

I bought a used computer (bondsman) which has Windows Vista Business installed, and I want to change the operating system to Windows XP.

Is this possible?  I prefer Windows XP over Vista, Vista is so volatile at the point of being unusable.

Because Windows XP is no longer available, it would be best to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional.
