can I downgrade to 7 of 8 with a license of the laptop with 7 additional

I have a Toshiba laptop with Windows 7 installed. I bought the partial update of thing 8, but it destroyed everything, so I reinstalled the 7 and cd player (won't open) lost in the process. This forum could not solve the problem, so I bought a new laptop from Lenovo with 8 when it became available installed and put to level to 8.1.

I hate it, hated the day 1 and cannot take it anymore. The latest issue has me looking at Linux.

Toshiba the because is not usable, I can use his licence to decommission the Lenovo 8.1 to 7? (I realize that I would retire the Toshiba) If so, how could proceed?

If Windows 7 came on the computer on which it is then the answer is no. The manufacturer of the operating system OEM copy is tied to the computer, but come on.  In its current form, you will need to purchase a new copy of Windows 7 for the new laptop and don't forget to check with the manufacturer to make sure that they provide drivers for Windows 7. Many manufacturers are not.  Hope this helps and if you need another post to help and we will be happy to help you.

    Hi dynamitenews

    1. are you able to boot to the desktop?
    2. what happens when you try to start the computer?

You must have the DVD drive to start the computer using the disk, you cannot use the external hard drive to do the same thing.

Also I suggest you to make sure you have defined the start as CD/DVD-Rom as the first choice option in the BIOS. See below the help link-

  • Can I extend my warranty if 3 months ago, I bought the laptop?

    Hello community,

This is my first post, and I hope you can help me.

I would like to extend my 1 year warranty standard to 3, but there is something that seems to be in contradiction in the Toshiba web page, because, in the description of the extended warranty has written the following:

"* This extended warranty can be purchased in the entire warranty of your Toshiba laptop period * and must be activated within 30 days of purchase in order to use the service.

So I should have no problem, but at the same time and on the same page, said:

-> Terms and conditions click here to read the terms and conditions in their entirety.
And inside the General conditions, the first point is the following:

    1. warranty Extensions are * is valid if purchased within 30 days of the purchase of your Toshiba hardware * and must be activated within 30 days of purchase in order to use the service.

So I don't know if I can do it or not, because they at the same time as:
    * This extended warranty can be purchased in the entire warranty of your Toshiba laptop period *.
    _and_
    * only valid if purchased within 30 days of the purchase of your Toshiba hardware *.

Then, they sell warranty extensions that may not be placed? The conditions are bad? The main description is the problem?

I hope someone can help me.

    Thanks in advance

To be honest I don't think that those who wrote the terms and conditions is so stupid to make that mistake. So if you want to buy extended warranty the nearest authorized maintainer contact Toshiba and ask what kind of warranty extension can be ordered.

Warranty period is depending on the country and not the same in all countries. In some countries, the guarantee is a jear, but if you register your laptop within 30 days after the purchase, it will be extended on 3 years automatically. If you want to have a lot more time guaranteed you buy warranty package and make registration or this warranty package must be enabled.

Contact ASP and talk with them. they can explain how it works.

  • How can I provide access to pictures, I have a license to the man who built my Web site?

How can I provide access to photos that I bought to the man who built my company website? I simply give him access to my Adobe account? Also, I don't want free access to photos. What will happen if it downloads on his computer? This is all new to me... Thank you.

Add them to a library then go to http://assets.adobe.com and share your library. Use the button to work. Or you can just download it yourself and send them to her.

You don't have to give your own Adobe ID. Just use other people's electronic mail address. You'll never lose access to the photos. They will always be at your disposal in your history of license to redownload whenever you need.

  • How can I get a key product validation for Windows XP to the OEM of Vista Business downgrade, which came with my laptop?

I recently bought an Asus laptop that came with a genuine product key Vista Business OEM. I want to downgrade to XP and have installed a copy of XP OEM for this purpose I have found information on the internet indicating that I would be able to contact Microsoft, explain my desire to downgrade, to provide them with my Vista Business product key, and they would provide me a product key for XP, I could then use to activate the copy of XP I have installed.

However, it seems that it is more possible, because all the support activation is automated, and I was able to get a Microsoft service on the phone representative to activate my new installation of XP. How can I do to receive a product key for XP and activation of my installation?

    Thank you

    Scott

Thanks for the replies, you two! I called Asus, and they said that, since they do not recommend the downgrade, they do not downgrade disks provide, or provide for XP Pro license keys in case a user wants to downgrade. I told them about the rights of download, which I had heard before on the MS site support and they have always said they wouldn't / couldn't provide me with a license key, even if it was for OEM Windows XP distribution. Ah, well!

I don't think that Asus just "recommended" it or not!

    They must conform to Microsoft.

If you want Windows XP Pro on a new machine, Windows Vista (Business or Ultimate), and then downgrade
I don't know how many people is aware of this, but if you buy a Windows Vista Business or Ultimate then you can use a Windows XP CD (that you have legal access to) to load Windows XP on this machine.

When you need the product key / or need to activate, it will potentially fail, but a simple call to with your Vista product key activation center should give you all the details you need. Then, when you're ready to put Vista on this machine, you can do without the purchase of this new cost. Alternatively, you can buy Windows XP today and if you want to load Vista, you can give more money to a store for a copy again.

    Hello

First of all thanks for the information on the downgrade of the OEM of Windows version.

I bought my Satellite with Vista and it would be nice that I would get a XP for free.

But to be honest I'm not really sure if Microsoft will activate Win XP after buying the Vista operating system. But who knows, maybe you should say with the support of Microsoft.

To my knowledge, you will not get any additional operating system from Toshiba, but only the Toshiba Recovery CD.
Each Toshiba laptop has been delivered with the recovery CD that contains the Microsoft operating system (XP or Vista), drivers Toshiba and utilities.

That's all. If you lose the recovery CD, you can order the same CD/DVD with the same operating system of the authorized Toshiba service provider!

But like I said above, a retirement details you should specify it with MS is supported.

If you get more information from MS, please report it here in this thread. It s interesting theme.

  • HP 15 f024 wm Notebook: How can I downgrade the bios on my laptop HP 15-024wm?

Hi, I just bought a laptop from HP 15 f024-wm.  It runs 8.1 64-bit Windows. Intel Pentium 3520 N.   The problem I have is that I've recently updated my bios to f.13 and now my keyboard skips letters. Everything was going well until I did this upgrade of bios, how can I downgrade to the original version? I tried the key windows + B thing and she does not see a black screen while my caps lock key blinks twice.  It drives me crazy... If anyone can help me I would appreciate it a lot. Thank you!

    Hi @vincentd1215 ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I understand you want to restore the default values of the BIOS. You can restore the BIOS with this document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings or rollback. Restore default BIOS is necessary, if it does not give you the possibility of restoration.

Hope this is what you need.

    Thank you.

    Can I downgrade Windows 8 64-bit for Windows 7 64-bit?

And also my drivers continue to operate?

I have only one installation of Windows 7 disk and want to make sure that I could use it incase if my computer goes down / gets corrupted / ect. Since I formatted acccidently my OEM drive when I take away a lot of partitions, I did.

    My computer:

    Model: HP 2000 Notebook PC

    Model No.: C2N26UA #ABA

    OS: 8 64-bit Windows

Additional info: my computer came with Windows 8 64-bit pre-installed.

    Hello:

First of all, make your game of W8 recovery discs before proceeding.

All the W7 x 64 drivers of this Associates model should work on yours.

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=5275377&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=5259212&swLang=13&TaskID=135&swEnvOID=4063#11360

The driver is missing (and is for any laptop AMD) and it's the chipset driver that installs the SMBus Controller and the USB 3.0 controller.

You should download and install this driver first and then restart. First download listed is what you need.

    http://support.AMD.com/us/gpudownload/Windows/pages/raid_windows.aspx#2

Then install the graphics driver and restart, then install the audio driver and restarted.
