• Questions-help needed please rendering of fonts

  Last week, a Google search on Firefox or Chrome (but not Opera) gives me results where the fonts look gappy. Sometimes there are extra points above the letters. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox from scratch in case an add-on was at fault, but even with a clean install, I still see the question. I checked my font settings and do not have any defined minimum font size. I allow pages to choose their own fonts ticked.

  I downloaded an image where I can see a few correctly rendered text and text to research Gauthier (not a Google search but a query of Mozilla). It also happens when the comments submitted online sometimes, as you type it will gappy but it will correctly show once. Ideas for a fix would be welcomed warmly and I can provide more examples if it would help. Even though it is not related to Firefox, I restore all default settings in Chrome and it does not solve the issue here either.

  I uninstalled the latest Windows Update since the problem is recent, but it changed nothing. I don't know if browsers would still look at my fonts for computers.

  Hi Auds77, it's probably caused by kb3013455 of update from microsoft that can cause problems of rendering fonts on vista:

  After you have installed the 3013455 security update, you may notice a degradation in quality of text in some scenarios. The problem occurs only on systems running Windows Vista SP2 or Windows Server 2003 SP2. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post more information in this article when the information becomes available.

  an option may be to tackle this particular update for now until there is a fix from microsoft or you could also look at if there is a graphics driver update available on the Web site of the seller (intel/amd/nvidia) which could also be solved this problem in some cases.

  I have a large music library on my iTunes and so all my music does not fit on my iPod Classic 160 GB, which is fine.

  I have the latest version (last one that came out) the iPod Classic 160 gb.

  I have the latest version of iTunes.

  I use Windows 7.

  So basically I had no questions for recent years until last week.

  For a long time, I went through my collection of music [in view of SONGS] and placed check marks next to all the songs I want on my ipod.

  It's the way I like it. I have enough free space on my ipod for new music, I get every month so that it works.

  I connect the iPod to iTunes and SYNC my library, and it adds new songs I added to my iTunes library since I'm finally connected.

  Okay - here is the problem.

  Last week, when I connected my iPod Classic to iTunes, I got a saying there was an update to download.

  I am used to what is going on all the time with my iPhone, but I can't remember the last time there was an update for my iPod.

  Intrigued and not think what awkward or troublesome would come from him, I'm agree to download and install the new update.

  When he did download it says that it does not recognize the device (iPod). After searching for hours for help, I finally disconnected, stop, restart and rec-connected my iPod to iTunes.

  He says that he has no music on my iPod. I checked and it was not. He disappeared. ***!?!

  Fortunately, all my music was always in iTunes so I went with my library SYNC (again, I have the titles I want selected already). He said he could only and basically the only option was to reset my iPod to its factory settings. Because the way that my iPod is empty anyway, I thought, fine, so I did. I have restored its original settings.

  Later, I did the same thing after disconnecting. Shut down, restart, clean the cache and the registry, etc and then reconnected the iPod to iTunes. My first thought was maybe I should try to download the update again - since the ipod is empty at this time - what the *, why not - I would rather finish now than get my music on my iPod to be prompted to download new update, and start all over. So I clicked Check For Updates when my iPod was connected to iTunes and it said there is no new update. I don't remember the exact update, but I'm sure it was like 2.05 something, and what I have now (and had before all this happened) was 2.04 or something like that. So does well, no update? No matter what. At this point, I'm SO frustrated - I want just to SYNC my library via checked/selected songs and get back them on my iPod.

  When I went to SYNC, nothing happened.

  So I went to the tab that showed the music and it only gives me the option to SYNC my library of ENSEMBLE music (which is too large and does not fit on my iPod) - OR - I can go through this form on this page and browse and select the ARTISTS that I would like to add.

  It's so frustrating. First of all, I don't want to pass by and re - select all the songs I want to add - the main reason being - he did already - when you click on my library and select the songs view, you can see all the songs that I previously have selected/checked remains unchanged. Second, if I had to do it the way he wants me to all simply by selecting ARTISTS who will not work.

  Sorry for this long crazy question - but basically - how now factory - reset iPod Classic for SYNCING with my iTunes library with the songs of checked/selected, I already have checked - and not to go through and do it by limiting my will and have to select only the artist (not to mention that I did as I want).

  I appreciate any help or insight that someone could offer.

  On the settings screen of the iPod summary (what you see in iTunes when you select iPod), there is a checkbox to Sync only checked songs and videos (wording may be different for your iPod).  Enable (check) this setting in combination with sync entire music library.

  Hi all
  I'm trying to create multiple form on the same page, I lined up the entire region by using the grid alignment properties (create my insert)
  everything works like a charm on smartphone and desktop but not on IPAD
  Region seem to clutter each other, left side of the form region is confused in the text field.
  
  It is all though I should twig in order do not work on IPad.
  
  Also on ipad, only it does not pick up the URLs of smartphone, it still used Office url.

  For now I think that tablets are treated like desktop. David Peake has suggested in the future it will be a third UI for shelves - perhaps 4.2.2 or may need to wait up to 5.0

  In a game in progress that I am, I met the problem stacked questions ontop of each other. By that, I mean I have a range of issues that are going on the issue of the buttons 1 at a time. The problem is that for each question, I answer, it also answers questions before her at the same time (thus ruining my score)... Anyone has any advice on how to fix the code below so that it won't happen?

• Culture &amp; snap to grid - Photoshop Elements Question help

  Hi - I have a question about cropping.  I noticed that when I try to crop at the edge of a photo, I can't do as fine a fit - it acts as if it is 'alignment on the grid.  There is a very small white edge that I am trying to get rid of - I have scanned some photos and had too much of a border around them. Is there a way to fix this?  Also, when I select Elements of Photoshop help within the program, is there a way to make the search results show just what pertains to my version (9 items)?  Thank you.

  Hello. Recently, I bought my first Mac (MacBook) and I am wanting to download Photoshop CS3 Extended, but now there is the new PCS4. On my old computer which is a Dell, I had extended PCS3 and I have the serial number. My question is if I download the demo version of PCS4 lying on my Mac, I use the same serial number to activate it or I have to buy PCS4 extended for Mac? I'm a little confused, but I appreciate all help.

  No, you cannot use a Windows on a Mac license.

  You need a new license for your Mac.

  If you are not going to keep the version of Windows, you can contact customer service and ask a cross-grade.  This is a letter of destruction of the Windows version and pay a small fee (under $ 10) for the cost and shipping of new media. In fact, since you have CS3 you will be charged the price of upgrade ($200 or more).

  If you want to keep using a version of Windows, then you must purchase a new Mac version at full price.

• SIMPLE QUESTION - HELP!

  This may seem a stupid question, but I need help. I click on 'Open' and the window that appears for me to choose a file is so large that it is off the screen of the monitor. I can just click 'Cancel' if I need to. Does anyone know how to get this window to open smaller? I tried the preferences, but no luck... help.

  What is your platform and operating system?

  On Mac OS X, try to remove
  User/Library/Preferences/com.macromedia.freehand.11.plist.
  This option stores the preferences of Mac OS for FH 11 Navigation Services.

  I need to make a worksheet that shows the different values which is my price of clients for work that we do, but they take 39 percent of the value, so I need to know how to quickly convert the spreadsheet to display the amount I have them for the invoice.

  Add a new column (assumed C) then use the following formula:

  = B *(1-0.39)

  to make this selection cell C2, then type (or copy and paste it here) the formula:

  = B2 *(1-0.39)

  shortcut for this is:

  C2 = B2 *(1-0.39)

  Select copy to this C2

  Select cells C2 at the end of the C column, paste

  Now use the values in column C instead of those in column B

• XP Home recharge on my laptop. Question Help key

  Hello MS Forum,

  I need help to reinstallation of XP Home on my Dell Inspiron 8600.  I have the original Dell XP OS disk provided with this laptop, but no longer have the key for it.  Is there a way to contact microsoft to validate my drive and get a key so that I can install it? Yet once, it is a valid OS XP disc initially provided with this laptop.

  When you use a genuine Dell Windows XP reinstallation disk, there is no request of type a product key since the disc is activated with the Dell motherboard BIOS files. Carey Frisch

• "PC Companion" questions - help much appreciated!

  Hi guys - the anyones help would be greatly appreciated! I have backup of the files in my Z3 problems before you send the phone after the insurer for repair.

  I dropped the phone broken screen and also broke the phones touch screen feature. It is absolutely unusable, aside from the locking buttons and the camera! I removed the SIM card, put it in my old Xperia Z and now I am now in place and running on this.

  However! When I connect to my PC the Z3 to try to save and open the "PC Companion" to access the files, it says it takes a SIM card in the phone and that the PIN code has been inserted. The phone has no SIM because it is in my old, and even if that were the case I could not enter the PIN that the screen is broken!

  How can I get the files from my PC without using this SIM card and PIN? There must be a way!

• m8120n Media Center PC RAM upgrade questions - help please!

  I have an HP m8120n 2 year old PC. It has 3 GB RAM PC5300 inside stock. I want to upgrade the ram, with 6 or 8 GB. Here are the 2 questions I have:

  (1) this motherboard is supposed to handle 8 GB (4x2Go). It will get by the BIOS?

  (2) this motherboard is supposed to be able to handle up to PC64000 (DDR2 800) RAM. I can use it or do I have to stick to the PC5300 accompanying?

  I understand that if I go to 6 GB, I leave 2 GB of RAM stock in it and you need to use the PC5300. I would prefer 8 GB and the PC6400. And Yes, I run Vista 64.

• ICON Question Help!

  Hello! I'm serious need help to understand what it is. An icon suddenly showed today that I turned on my computer. I was about to open a Photoshop file and I saw in my pictures folder, all the files I got this icon above them.

  

  I can't find any info on what it is exactly. The files would be open and act normal and all, but just curious what happened or what it means, if someone knows? After that I open a folder and noticed that it has always worked well, my whole desktop computer started showing this icon on every file I have. To be clear, that it shows that on the files (pictures/videos/documents) no program shortcuts or folders more. I also have an external drive that I store all my extra files and these files do NOT have this icon on them.  If anyone can help it's much appreciated!

  You will find Norton on your Start menu.

  Look in the help within Norton to give you a good explanation of the meaning of these icons.

  Norton settings contains a section on these icons, so you can disable them here [they refer to them as Backup state overlays].  However, if you have configured Norton to be your backup utility then you might be better to let the icons to display.  It is up to you.

• Bbm BBM questions HELP channel!

  Hi BB Guru.

  My friend owns the BBM channel which had more than 250K underwater, but recently it has lost more than 75K last week, and when he asked the reason why some of its replacements that were hers in the list of contacts that they said that they could not like, comment on his posts.

  He has sent out invitations to friends to join channal sound but now people cannot join the channel.

  He did not know how to contact the team BB to get help so he asked me if I can help it.

  Everyone faces this problem as well? and how to fix this?
