Can I freely move from Windows XP to windows 7

I just want to know, can I download windows 7 on a program windows xp without consequences?

Norman

It depends on. Win 7 has certain system requirements that if you machine comes from the era to XP maybe not.

For example, Win 7 has 1 gig ram minimum for 32 bits, the 2 gig for 64-bit.

I would Google minimum system requirements for Windows 7 and see if they answer to what you currently have.

Attention the card video.

  • I need a device-no audio after move from Windows 7 to XP

I changed from windows 7 to xp and now I have no sound

If you have a specific machine from W7 of recent design, it is possible that there will be no XP drivers available from the manufacturer's website. Also, there will be no driver chipset etc.

If I were you, first of all, I would like to check on the CD / DVD supplied with your machine to see if there are any XP drivers. If so, install them, and then update once you have things from the manufacturer's website.

Note: you can not only install the audio drivers, but also the rest of the drivers - chipset, keyboard, WIFI etc or anything that is specific to your unit. Good luck.

    See you soon,.

  • How can I transfer mail from Windows XP to Windows Live Mail?

I would like to transfer my emails from windows xp home edition to a usb port so that I can transfer to windows live mail?  Only, which allows to export to microsoft outlook or exchange?  Pls help

    Hi Paulettelukan,

What is the email client do you use? If Microsoft Outlook-> open Outlook-> tools-> Options-> Mail Setup-> Datafile-> you will get the location of your pst file. Close outlook and browse to the location of my computer and copy the PST on USB.

If using Outlook Express-> open Outlook Express-> tools-> Options-> maintenance-> store folder-> copy the path-> open my computer-> paste-> you should see all the dbx files-> close Outlook Express-> copy all the DBX files in your USB key.

    I hope this helps.

  • How to move from Windows XP to Windows 7?

    WINDOWS

I need to upgrade Windows XP to Windows 7.   How can I do this?

Please give instructions on how to do it.

Step by step instructions in the following article:

    http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/13/WinXP-to-Win7/

    The upgrade to Windows XP?

Please read these instructions carefully and completely before you begin installing Windows 7: there are important steps that you must follow to upgrade your PC from Windows XP to Windows 7 in order to preserve your files and settings.

Before you begin, you'll need to backup all your data to an external storage device, and you will need all the installation discs for the programs that you want to keep. Please make sure that you have an external hard drive (see details below).

More detailed instructions are available at windows.microsoft.com/upgrade-windows-xp. Here are the basic steps.

    1. start Windows Upgrade Advisor (windows.microsoft.com/upgradeadvisor) to see if there are known issues that may affect the installation and the question of whether you should install the version of 32 or 64 bit Windows 7.

2 back up your files and settings on an external hard drive using Windows Easy Transfer (windows.microsoft.com/windows-easy-transfer). If you do not have an external hard drive, you will not be able to use Windows Easy Transfer. Alternatively, you can copy the files you want to keep on a USB stick, CD or DVD.

    3. you will need to manually reinstall your programs, such as Microsoft Office, after I installed Windows 7. Gather the installation for your programs and all partner/license product key discs. You may be able to download programs from the Internet. For example, Windows Live Messenger can be installed from the download.live.com/messenger.

    4. Insert the Windows 7 DVD in your PC. When asked "which type of installation you want. Click on "Custom (advanced)."

    5. when Windows 7 is installed, use Windows Easy Transfer to restore your files and settings.

If you are not comfortable Windows 7 installation, check with a local retail or the services of the PC company store to see if they offer upgrade services.

File messaging in windows 7 does not work. So even if you copy the files etc on win7, windows mail usually run in Windows 7

There are sites with copies of windows mail that you can use it on Win7 (including the reg files), so it will work properly

  • How to move from windows xp to the french, the french

Hi, I am selling my computer to my french friend.  Show me how to turn in all french.

In the unlikely event that you have in Windows XP Enterprise edition, you can use the utility Microsoft Windows MUI in the menus, messages, & c holdings to the French. Otherwise, you or your friend will have to remove the English-localized version of Windows XP and install the localized version of French.

Then there is the case of all installed programs. Changing to the French Windows XP does not change requests for the French.
