Can I install Vcenter 5.1 NEW, instead of the upgrade to 4.1

Is there an obvious reason, what I should just install Virtual Center new, rather than update my version 4.1?

I believe that I can just install it again, then remove my the old virtual ESX hosts and attach them to the new one, right? What exactly would I lose by doing this? I guess I'm wasting all the performance statistics, but maybe I don't really like of things about it.

There are two reasons I want to do. Tell me what you think:

1. it is much easier to build a new Windows Server and install Virtual Center 5.1 (and all additional components), without having to fear that I have will become in the middle of things, be an error to occur, and I can not get easily that works again.

2. we took the Virtual Center on SQL Server database right now, and I would like to move this to Oracle, because our MSSQL Server is virtualized, and we get into situations where it is not simple to get Virtual Center runs again. For example, when the MSSQL Server is patched and restarted, which occurs several times a year. Virtual Center then stops working. Yes, this isn't all that hard to solve, but it's boring. If we move the database for Oracle on Linux, NOT on VMWare, then this problem disappears. There are a few minor reasons, too.

So, what are the advantages and disadvantages of doing this? I hope I can get some good advice on this. Thank you.
