Can I load data in imported Essbase cube in OBIEE?

Hi all

I use OBIEEv11.1.1.7.I imported Essbase cube in RPD and I load sheet Essbase Excel data using smartview.

My question is after you import the cube in OBIEE do I still need load the new data into Essbase cube or is it possible to load data directly to the OBIEE to excel for any Essbase cube?

Thank you

GP

Hi GP.

Essbase substitution variables can be imported and can indeed be referenced in OBIEE. So I think that you have a solution here :-).

Thank you

Is there a way to do the same thing with the japi essbase?

If you just want to export data to a text file, then it will be probably easier to look at the following options

    DATAEXPORT - DATAEXPORT

Script report - report writer commands

  • set the load of SQL to Essbase Cube

Hi, I have a cube ASO which I load the data using SQL. The database user id and password changes every quarter. I wanted to make the load demand... so I want to know if theres any way I can set the user name and password for the SQL code in the file.so evry rule don't quarter I have no need to change user id and pswd evry area in all the rule files. something like variable substitution

If you load planning, I assume you are using MaxL.   You can use parameters to pass the username password in the statement the data import and SQL.  You don't set them up in the rule of the load itself.

You can't have them set up, encrypt to MaxL (that I know) but if you can get away with unencrypted passwords then it will work very well.

  • Error of the ODI - running MaxL in loading data ODI

I have an ODI Interface that works very well to load data in an Essbase Cube.  However I had to add a stage that could run a calc script before loading to clear data from the current year and the period.   I built the MaxL script and successfully tested and it works ok. However in the options on my target in the flow section, I added this entry:

    PRE_LOAD_MAXL_SCRIPT: C:\ODI_Data\Scripts\MaxL\clr_act.mxl

When I try and run I get the below error.  Any ideas what it could be?  He says the full path of the MaxL script so I thought that's the way they wanted.  That's the problem, I have no reference correctly?

  • Error in loading data into Essbase

    Hello all-

I extracted a few data on flat file from my application into production and I am trying to push the data in another essbase cube using the rules file and it comes up with the following error message:

Reading rule SQL database [database name]
Reading rules of rule of database object [database name]
Active parallel loading: [1] block to prepare the discussions, block [1] write discussions.
Loading data encoded in Unicode application in mode non-Unicode is not supported
    Unexpected error Essbase 1003048

I have previously pushed several times to export data of level 0 and this time I'm trying to push it through the rule files and he came up with this error. How can I see if my orginal application is a unicode application or not? The rules file that I use is also the source application... I should create a new file of my target application rules and this will help me to solve this problem?

    Please advise!

If you right click the essbase in the EA application and select properties there will be a "Unicode mode" box, if it is checked, then it is a unicode application.

You may need to convert your file to unicode.

  • Load data into Essbase using the rules file

    Hello

IAM trying to create a rule to load for the fresh Essbase cube associated with the Hyperion Planning Application. We having 14 Dimensions (including the HSP_Rates Dimension).

The falt file used to generate the rule file has columns related to the 13 dimensions as well as the data as the 14th column column. When I validate the rules file, he said "the rules file is correct for the loading of the data.

My concern here is iam not taking care of Member Dimnesion related to the Dimension of "HSP_Rates" (not even as the Difinition of the header). I'm doing something wrong here? How validation can MOVE independently without taking into account one dimension?

If I insert the data, while recovering the data in Excel which dimension member HSP_Rates should I use?

    Any response is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you
    RNG

    Hello

You should charge against 'HSP_InputValue' in the HSP_Rates dimension, i.e. where the input values must be loaded.

I don't really understand what's your problem, you should not need to do anything once it is executed, the interface if records have loaded, then they should be in essbase, if they are rejected, then the error should give you an idea of why they were.

    Hello

What ODI and patch version you are running.
Looks like you are using a KM newer than the java files that are located in the oracledi\drivers directory, I would say that you need to update the files java essbase for a newer version.
In the last few patch releases memory size buffer has been added to the data load essbase KM for the use of the ASO, even if this meant you had to also update the java files as well as in the version.

    See you soon

  • load data into hyperion application

    Hello
I have given in the essbase cube and wants to load this data into my Hyperion application?
What tools should I use and what is it free?

    1. If you have data in your Essbase cube and assuming that this cube is created since the planning application (database create or update) then you should be able to see the data in your forms of planning data without any sort of copy of data.

    2. If the data in a cube completely separate Essbase, then you can export the data in this cube using the Dataexport (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/esb_techref/dataexport.htm) and import the result into the Essbase cube that is created from the planning application.

    Hello

I'm glad you find the blog useful.

I understand that you use 9.3 and to prove that it is not a question of ODI, log into planning from the web, add one manually with thai characters, then refresh the application to push information to essbase, then look at the Member in EA.

    See you soon

  • built-in photo editor called (photos) does not. It says "cannot load data.» Check your connection.

Can someone please help, when I click on a photo to change and I chose the second Editor (photos), that it loads a bit, but then he said can not load data, check your connection. But it used to work before! and I am connected to wifi!

Try to force stop the app and erase the data. It might be a little difficult because it does not find in the settings-applications-all. However, you should be able to open the app in app menu, then press home. After that, select recent application manager and longer tap on the pictures, you should get info app.

  • updating automated metadata Essbase in RPD OBIEE file?

    Hello

Anyone know how it is possible to update the physical layer of the RPD file meta data? Bottom line is that we have integrated several essbase cubes into OBIEE. One of the cube is updated on a daily basis and all levels generated in some dimensions can change daily. The idea is to reimport the essbase (physical layer, activities and presentation) metadata automatically after calculation of cube essbase has been successfully completed. But I found no documentation how to automate administration tool.

So any advice would be great.

    Thank you in advance,

    Stefan

If you set your "Type of hierarchy" in the physical layer to the 'value' it will work automatically as a child without any table (Essbase is already working with parent-child relationships, so no need for any additional table).

  • ASO Essbase - loading data to overwrite the existing values

I'm support ASO but does not know how he would "Overwrite the existing values" correctly.  I want it to work as BSO "crush."  Need help please, I am a newbie to ASO :(

    change the ASOAPP database. ASODB load_buffer to initialize with values of substitution of resource_usage 0.15 buffer_id 1 create slice;

    Thank you

Which only Initializes the buffer, it does not load anything (as I imagine you know, KKT).  Just to be the opposite, I would say the MaxL may be harder but gives you a better idea on how loading to ASO that the use of the Regional service.

To the OP, you are mixing two different command syntax.  'Substitution values' and 'create a group' syntax is part of the import , not the alter statement.

Suggest you read this article of technical reference: loading data using pads

Using tampons complicates slightly reproducing the behavior "crush."  You can choose multiple values loaded at the same intersection crash in the buffer zone, or in committing the buffer for the cube (or both).  BSO is not this distinction.  The substitution values clause controls what happens when the buffer is enabled for the cube, but by default multiple values at the same intersection in loading the buffer still the sum.  You can control what is happening to several values, hitting the same intersection in the buffer to aggregate_use_last / aggregate_sum buffer options in the alter statement.
