Can I safely delete the "Old files Firefox" file from my laptop?

within this file is this one: 7tmo2rs4.default

It contains a lot of files, including sqlites

Hi fourtwojaw, the old data of Firefox folder is created or updated when you use Refresh in Firefox. The semi-randomly-named folder inside contains your old settings, which some have been preserved in the refresh (such as bookmarks) and some are only in this folder. If you have not noticed something important missing, you can remove the folder, but I suggest allowing a few weeks because you will not notice the loss immediately.

Can I delete the backups Time Machine of old MacAir and make room on my time Machine 2 TB for Macbook?

Yes you can.  Your next question may be 'how' to do it.

Use the Finder to open the disc Time Capsule, named "Data", except if you have renamed the reader

Here, you will see two files sparsebundle, each bearing the name of Mac, who has been the object of a backup

Click on the name of the sparsebundle file on behalf of the Mac to highlight the file

Click the gear just above the window, and then click place in the trash

He is not coming back, so make sure that you delete the correct file.

Once the deletion over... it should only take a few minutes... Turn off and restart the time Capsule and you should be all set.

  • Can I safely delete these old files related to Firefox?

While addressing a problem last week, I came across the following files in my computer:

    nsSessionStore.js C:\Program Files\Netscape\Navigator 9\components\ 72 KB 2007-08-16 04:07: 44
    C:\Program Files\PortFirefox\FirefoxPortable\App\firefox\components\ 72 KB 2007-07-26 12:09 nsSessionStore.js: 20

I did find out a little more and found that Netscape Navigator is still installed on this system! Should I uninstall it? I don't remember using it for centuries and I doubt it's something special that Firefox can not do now.

There is no installed program called Port Firefox, just a big file (about 32 Meg) - of the date of creation (8 September 2007) and the date of last change (October 23, 2010), I'm pretty sure that this record has been left by the computer technician who brought my system. Can I go ahead and just delete the folder?

Finally, there is another folder in Program Files, which looks like it has the same dates, and even once, does not seem to be related to any installed program. -This one is called Radio@NetscapePlus.
Yet once, just delete the folder?

I'm a bit of a mission to get all the stuff obsolete and unused out of my system so I would really like to know what to do about these files.

    Thank you, KK.

None of these 'files' are associated with your installation of Firefox 32 at all!

Yes, uninstall Netscape 9 - there has been a lot more features that Firefox has, it was a 'Suite' of internet programs much like SeaMonkey is now. You won't miss what you have not used for many years.
Make sure that you remove all files that could be left behind, too. Delete the Radio@NetscapePlus file, also.

PortableFirefox is not actually 'install', there is no registry key as with the official version of Firefox. If you delete all the folder Program Files Portable will be gone and will not be an official impact your Firefox installation.

  • Can I safely delete the D partition on the HARD drive?

Second question: my laptop came with the HD in two partitions, C and d is there a purpose for this and I can easily (safely) delete the D partition?

You can do what you want and you can create a partition but HARD DISK with two partitions has since. All important data, you can save the second one (D). If something is wrong with the operating system you can install it at any time on the partition c. on this way, all your data will still be there.

The delivered use recovery media, you can use the configuration option and select installation on already created the C partition.

I recommend you leave him with two partitions.

  • PC DM files: my hard drive is currently filled by PC DM files in my folder/Public user folder. How can I safely remove the right files in this folder?

My hard drive is currently filled by PC DM files in my folder/Public user folder.  How can I safely remove the right files in this folder?  Vista Home Premium 64 bit is my os.

    Hi templar_39,

DM (Message Delivery) file types are not Windows files, they can be generated by a third-party program.

This particular file type is often associated with audio data and can be hosted on some cell phones to be used as ringtones or multimedia clips. To my knowledge, these files can be generated by your mobile phone.

Note: you can go ahead and remove these files only if you notice that the files do not contain any important information.

If this happens without connect you all devices (like mobile PHONES), this may be a virus or malware activity. You can run a virus scan to get rid of them

Step 1: A scanner online for any threat and try to correct

  • I get a widow in my lower toolbar that rpet low disk space, and when I click it to try to delete the old files, it does nothing... so what do I do... ?

I get a window in my toolbar lower repeating me low disk space and when I click it to try to remove the old files, it does nothing... so what should I do to get rid of the files in a "D" file...?

Please perform these steps and the back of the report.

Click Start, click computer, and it will display your hard drives and their letters. Normally C: is your operating system and where everything is stored (user: files, programs, Documents, photos, etc.). The D: is your RECOVERY partition and contains a copy of the first installation of the plant. The D: is small, about 9 to 15 GB, depending on the version of Windows.

For example, my C: displays 306 GB free (unused) 374 GB (hard disk capacity). D: shows 2.11 free 11.5 GB GB. This is normal for HP, Compaq and others. New HP (Win 7) include an E: with less than 1 GB of capacity, to store a program utility tools. These so-called hard disks are in fact partitions installed on a physical hard disk, but not to concern. The c: partition free space is your important answer. BeAware that the D: and E: (if you have the configuration described above, are never to be used as restore points, or your personal files, they are allocated by the manufacturer to support the reinstallation of the operating system.) My example shows that my C: partition made only 68GB used on the disc, 306 GB is free (unused) 374 GB capacity.

    (1) report with numbers, and you can be helped.

    (2) Vista writes copies ghosts of all your documents (previous versions of the files). These can take many GB.

    (3) when he gets less than 20 percent free, you start to have problems with the disk defragmentation. Less than 10% results in critical problems, the problems of performance and for the worse.

    (4) if the number of free GB is really a low disk space issue, you need to move some of the large data files (pictures, videos,...) out on CD or DVD.

If it helps, let me know. I'm not a moderator, just a user trying to use simple language to help others.

  • I installed Windows 7 on a Vista machine. I want to delete the old files of Vista but system requires the permission of Mike-PC\Mike to make changes to this file. How can I get this permission?

I am convinced that the old program gives me a message about more than 500 fonts are installed everytime I open a works file.  This is my understanding of Windows 7 there is no limit on the installed fonts.  The old Vista file is more than 90 GB.  I already a copy of the file on a separate drive if something of him is never necessary.

If the Windows.old folder, the best way to remove it is with disk cleanup.

  • Can I safely delete "Windows.old" after a successful relocation?

I caught a virus and had to reinstall Windows.  The repair disk intalled a new version clean and left in a folder on my hard drive.  I moved all of the things I've wanted on an external drive, so I have nothing of it.  Can I remove it to clear disk space?

    Boost

Windows.Old contains all your old files of program, Windows, and personal spaces (C:\Users\your name\etc).

You can delete it (you need to maybe take possession of this first and reassign your rights to him). But like I said that it contains your old personal folders and office, you still have stuff in there you want.

    Kind regards

Well, if they are of no use to you, you can safely remove them using disk cleanup. However, I would recommend you search and back up important files before you delete them.

    Hello

Somehow, I have six associated files in a Dreamweaver document, at least two of which I don't want.   I deliberately chose to join two css files.  The document is also related to the jquery scripts, etc. in the body.  When I select some files give warnings, which is shown in the screenshot.   Please help me to understand what makes the files appear here one nd how delete the ones I don't want?

Documentation Adobe online said to open the link check tool, click broken links and click on the "Delete" button to remove.  Sounds good, but I'm pointing out the files I want to delete and hit the button Delete until my finger turn purple and they're not going anywhere.

    Help!  Thank you...

You forget that Bootstrap is much, much more than a tool for page layout.  It includes everything for all possible scenarios.  If you are concerned about luggage, go to BOOTSTRAP GET and download a custom kit that contains only the classes and components that you need.

I don't use CC 2015 so I can't tell you what all it includes.

    In my projects:

    Bootstrap base is Bootstrap.min.css + Bootstrap.min.js + jQuery.min.js.

    In addition:

    My custom.css

    François Hollande (css reset)

    Bootstrap_theme. CSS

    jQueryUI.js

    jQueryUI_theme.css

    jQuery easing.js

Police - Awesome.css (such as Glyphicons).
