Can I uninstall Windows Live Essentials without removing Microsoft Security Essentials? Are they related?

I use most of the titles of Microsoft.  I have DO NOT need Microsoft Windows Live Essentials range.  All conflicts or other problems if I UNINSTALL Live Essentials?

Thank you.
Joe

Nope - they are totally separate entities.  You can have, neither or both installed :)

  • uninstall Windows live essentials

I am on Windows 7 with a 64-bit laptop DV7. I have problems with Windows Live Mail, because when I click on the Inbox, sent. deleted etc, nothing happens. The only way I can get to my mail is to use 'Find' or to go to my Plusnet account. This is a nuisance. I have been informed through groups of Microsoft users that the best way to overcome this problem is to uninstall windows Live Essentials and instructions on how to do are on the Microsoft Web site. However, when I try I can't bring up the windows that would allow me to do. (see "how to remove and reinstall Windows Live Rssentials - I can't past 3 and" can't not "Uninstall") Could it be because there is a slight modification to the Hp software please, and if so someone can tell me how I can uninstall and then reinstall. Otherwise, it seems now that I'll have to go through the pain of complete recovery to try to resolve the problem. For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. GordonW

  • How to uninstall Windows live essentials so when I try to reinstall all of them appear as the installation options?

I'm using IE8 and windows live essentials. I tried to uninstall windows live essentials and it was no problem. When I downloaded the game to reinstall again had the options to reinstall one of them with the exception of one who was not installed. How can I clean uninstall live essentials so everything is reinstalled again?

    Hello godsdragon,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

It shows that you have a corruption in your file system.
    Run the System File Checker:

    Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
    Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: sfc/scannow

This will check for any violation of the integrity and repair any damaged operating system files.

    Restart your system

Then try again and download and install Windows Installer Cleanup Tool. Click here to download the utility.
You can use the utility to remove installation information for programs that were installed by using Windows Installer. Remember that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility does not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall on.

If this does not work uninstall, reinstall the program and then try to uninstall again. Usually, this will help to eliminate all aspects of the programs.

    I hope this helps.

  • Uninstall Windows Live essentials 2011 manually (I have not deleted the folder so no wlarp.exe)

So, I was disappointed by the new version of Windows Live Messenger and I decided to uninstall Windows Live Essentials 2011, of course, be the fool that I am, I deleted the folder for it. Now it won't let me install the old versionor the new version, because he thinks that I have installed the new one. Now I know where the problem lies, there is supposedly a registry key or file (s) system in windows that the program is still installed, I was hoping to find out where these files / registry keys were, so I could remove them.

  • Since an automatic download of Windows Live Essentials 2011, my Vista Enterprise won't work, except in safe mode, and I can't uninstall Windows Live - any ideas - Richard?

At the same time, there was also an automatic update to my McAfee software, but I uninstalled it without benefit.

Unfortunately, my restore point installation has been disabled by inadvertence the at some point in the past, so I can't go back, at least easily.

  • x 0 80190194 can't install Windows Live Essentials

    Hello.

I have problems to install the latest version of Windows Live Essentials in Windows Vista.

Previously, I had an older version of the pack, installed on 2009: Windows Live Mail, Messenger, photo gallery and Live Movie editor have been installed. I tried to upgrade and got the x 0 80190194 WaitforCatalog error.

Uninstalled the previous version as stated on this forum: deleted all the programs of the Control Panel, removed the Live folder, restarted, updated, etc etc etc... Still have the same error.

Now I'm stuck without all these tools and with an error I do not know how to handle.

Did dig in the registry but... No matter what special tree should I remove it manually?

    Thank you.

Found the solution! Thanks to another windows forum, the thing was to clear the fields of the IE Proxy settings. I was not using it, but despite being disabled, I still had a few values, which I deleted.

    Then, it worked.

    Clumsy solution but
