  After the upgrade to Windows 10 (starting from Windows 7) my CD drive (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T50L) does not work properly. I can play the audio files located on the hard disk or over the internet, but I can't play a music CD. Eject the DVD from the context menu fails ("" an error occurred..; ' ").

  The content of the Cd is visible in the file Explorer. I can open and close the CD door manually.

  I get no error in Device Manager ("this device is working properly"). Uninstalling the driver SNA by restarting the computer does not change anathing. The computer indicates that the driver is up-to-date.

  Last weekend, I upgraded Windows XP Media Center SP1 to SP2 (because MS no longer supports it) on laptop Toshiba Satellite P15-S470 to my father. Tonight, I found that his Media Center 2004 refuses to read audio CDs audio error: "To play music in media center, install Windows Media Player 9 or a repair."

  After a long search on the Internet (e.g., newsgroups and forums), I found this a known issue since the release of SP2 in 2004. He worked before SP2 and other music players (for example, Windows Media Player (WMP) v10 and iTunes v6.x) have no problem. I tried to use Registry MCE 2004 provided by Toshiba and HP fixes (just for fun) and restart, but they did not help.

  Is there anything else to try next to the clean installation of SP2 and the BONE with its software? I was about to update WMP to v11, but I discovered that it does not work in MCE 2004. :(

  After hours of reading and checking to make sure I had good things enabled, I did, I gave up and uninstalled the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, they gave me and re-installed and later I had my friend get on Messenger and we tried games and it worked this time.
  For some strange reason when I updated it took me 3 tries before it took. So even if he told me that it has been installed, apparently it wasn't really. Just goes to show you that you can not trust what you see.
  What has really scratching my head was I went to Internet Explorer 8, which I never use more and discovered you can now get Mozilla plug in slip out there and when I did showed that same Adobe Flash Player is outdated but it was to a different version.
