  It seems that you try to install the version of Windows on your Mac, that will not work.

  Unfortunately I wasn't able to find out what WLAN card is inside, but it must be Atheros or Intel, so I recommend you try to install the two drivers for Windows XP Home edition.

  Try to install Windows XP Home version for Atheros 9.2.0.419.0 or Windows XP Home version 9.0.4.39 for Intel.

• I have a C5580 AND a C5280... and can not remove the ink of one of them.

  I can't remove the ink cartridges from the printer. Looks like the small flat plate plastic which is located directly in front of the installed cartridges, sits too high and blocks the inks come off.  I think the plastic plate should probably lower itself automatically, when the cartridges to move to the right and stops for easy removal... right?   had to reinstall Windows XP Home on my Satellite 1800-712, unfortunately do not have the recovery disc otherwise it would all be ok.

  Now, I can't get on internet, I downloaded new drivers for LAN, they installed ok, LAN is set to autodetect, USB wireless dongle drivers installed everything is ok.

  In my tray icon (bottom right) shows the networks but with red cross... I get a message saying that wireless networks are within range, click here to see the networks... when I click, Sun protection comes up saying no. networks in range... aarrrgggh.

  First you need to check if the wireless network adapter appears in Device Manager (expand network controllers).
  If the local network adapter is listed and there is no yellow exclamation point, this means that the wireless network adapter has been installed correctly.
  Now you have to activate the Wlan switch (somewhere on the side of the laptop) and the FN + F8 key combination.

  Now Wlan is enabled and you should be able to set it up.
  You can use a 3rd Wlan tool part for configuration or specific parameters of Win XP.

  Let's run Windows Update and make sure that you have all the latest patches and service packs loaded.  In Internet Explorer click Tools then Windows Update and follow the instructions.

  You can also give a quick call Dell and see if this is a common problem with their OEM version.
