Can't access cd rom drive / in guest host rather Windows - open records

I can open more cd drives in my Win XP commentsapplications instead they appear in the host. I was trying to backup Quicken in the comments on a cd as I've always done on the cd rom drivedrive D, but kept to error message "Please choose another location. This drive is read-only. When I put in a new blank disc, my host found iMac drive instead - a popup window said that I inserted a blank disc and he asked me what I wanted to do with him (open I-Tunes, etc.). When I went on the D drive in my computer and double click on the D drive icon, it says: "Please insert a disc into drive D" if she does not see the blank disc that was still in the drive. Instead, I found the icon of blank disk on the desktop of the host and may open in the host. So it seems that the cd rom in the guest drive is be outstripped by the host. I tried to uninstall the cd rom drive in the comments Device Manager and rebooted the prompt. He finds the "new hardware" and reinstalled the drive, but I still having the same problem accessing it. The car worked well in the comments before, I don't understand what happened.

  • Equium A60-155: can't access CD/DVD drive

I own an Equium A60-155 with an extra 512MB memory installed. My problem is with the carpet * a DVD Super - multi Drive.

When I insert a disc the busy light flashes for about 5 seconds, I hear a small amount of activity, but then it just stops and it stays on permanently. If I try to access the drive through windows, it seems to be empty!

I had this problem before and it sets just once! I don't think that it is windows such that the drive has the same way (busy light always on, if the disc is in the drive) before even windows has started. My warranty ran out earlier so he sent set is not an option?

Does anyone have any ideas, what is the problem?

    Hi Joe

I put really know what can help, but you can try to remove the drive from the Device Manager list. Restart the device and check the functionality again. After you restart the new hardware (CD/DVD-ROM) unit will be recognized and installed correctly.

If the problem persists with any type of media (original music CD and DVD) it can really be some malfunction of the equipment.

  • Can't access 2nd HARD drive on the Pavilion p6220nl?

I had installed a second HDD SATA in my Pavilion p6220nl desktop computer by unplugging the DVD/CD player with its SATA data and power cables.  He succeeded and I was using my regular hard drive so my new drive to HARD drive for several weeks.

Once my new SATA cable arrived, I tried to reinstall my DVD/CD player that I had also only 2 SATA power connectors.  Instead I tried to use very low power for the new HARD drive connector.  Result, I can not access my new HARD drive.  I tried back (i.e. unplugged my DVD/CD drive again and using this SATA power connector instead) and it still won't go.

I updated my BIOS and tried everything I can think of, but without success.  If anyone can help?  Is there indeed a Molex Pin 4--> adapter SATA connector?  Could I have ruined my new HARD drive with the two small connector and power cables attached SATA power connector?  Is there a specific SATA ports they need to go in.

    Currently the situation is now:

SATA Slot 0 - drive DVD/CD (data cable connected only)

1 - usual HD SATA connector

SATA connector 2 - new HARD drive

    Slot SATA 3 - empty

    Appreciate any advice or assistance.

    Thank you

    Stephen

    Ideas:

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are

  • How to restrict other users to access a local drive in FAT format in windows 8

I have a windows 8 PC with two hard disk partitions: one is in NTFS and FAT32. I want the FAT32 drive is not not accessible to any other user unless the administrator account. I tried to change the permissions, but ACL is not available for FAT systems. I don't want to format the drive to NTFS. Please suggest a way to deny access to that drive other users, or a way to make the player invisible to users.

    Hi Surya,

You can use BitLocker Drive encryption to protect your files on a disc. BitLocker can help the hacks to access the files on the system, that they rely on to discover your password, or to access your drive by physically removing from your PC and install it in another. You can always connect to Windows and use your files as you normally would.

I suggest you to see the following link for more information on Bit Locker.

  • Can't access toolbar or of desktop icons after installing windows 7

I recently installed windows 7 on my desktop, thought everything was good.  Sometimes, when the computer is powered on or after he wake mode in standby, the toolbar icons and desktop disappear.  The bottom rises and I can right click for options.  It still allows me to use most of the options when I right click, but that's all I can do.  I can't access the toolbar, Ctrl alt delete is that the black screen (nothing happens after that). But it happens that all the other time, or so when I turn on the computer.  If I run a cd boot everything works fine. I'm running vista, and I made a custom, Setup because the upgrade was not an option.  I also tried to boot from the cd and do a repair, but the problem is still intervene.  I made sure that everything has been updated before I did the installation and followed all the instructions.  I did all the updates that are available for installation (when I can get the operating system works).  Any thoughts?

First off I would say running a different virus scanner to ensure that nothing achieved by your installed one.  You can use the Onecare Safety Scanner or there are many other free around.

    Then run the following:
