  It's hard to do. There is no such thing as a Thunderbird account.
  E-mail accounts are established with the e-mail providers. You would close your account with your provider.

  I was sorry to hear about your husband. To apply for his account to be closed, you should send an email to msrecord [at] microsoft [dot] com explaining the situation. They will need some documents to be able to move forward. Since you have access to the account, you may be able to follow the instructions on this page:

  • 'Delete Cookies' of sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

  Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the Add-ons is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Modules > themes).

  Your password for Windows XP has nothing to do with what you're probably talking - since it is stored and used on your local computer only and if you were to change - it was due to a setting that you or your administrator system (non-Microsoft) implemented.
   
  It is a peer-to-peer forum.  You do not discuss Microsoft.
   
  Personally - I couldn't like it less if you stay or go.  You may be the type who learns new things or... not.  No matter now, huh?
